What is going on???

If I’m understanding this right (I haven’t played or owned a Forza since FM4) you need mods to increase your payout (instead of turning off assists) which are got from loot boxes instead. So you have a random chance of getting something to increase payouts and you also have a new way to implement microtransactions. Doesn’t sound very serious to me.

why can’t they keep the best lap time on all the time instead of having it on for a few seconds?

First time I’ve been able to play a Forza Motorsport game since 4. FH3 was fun enough but nothing compared to my love for track racing. I was beyond excited to get off work to play this game today…and like a number of people I’m now beyond disappointed.

Homologation is a fantastic idea for the campaign and as an option in multiplayer. How on earth did it reach the point that it has essentially replaced the class system entirely? It’s ridiculous that you can’t race cars upgraded based on the PI system anywhere but free play. It’s so restrictive to the point that it doesn’t even make sense to me from a game development standpoint. At best there was a time crunch that cut features?

Also, no time trial mode? At all? Outside of the campaign and multiplayer I loved to be able to take the stock cars around tracks to see how fast they could be pushed. No options for me to play how I want I guess. Just gotta march to the beat of Turn 10’s drum? No thanks.

  1. AI are just as bad as previous games, despite pre-release assurances that AI was better and more intelligent! Braking on the starting grid, braking way too early into corners, braking where you’d never brake, I overtake slower AI for them to ‘rubber-band’ back up to my rear.

That’s my biggest issue so far. If anything the AI is worse now than in FM6. AI cars will not move of their racing line and will quite happily push you off the track. You can push back as hard as you want but they will not budge. They push slightly against you and off you go. With all the money and talent T10 have you’d think AI would be a top priority in a racing game but it’s obviously not.

Gotta say the same. Some AI cars are fully glued to the track, physics don’t work on them. You can smash into them and they will just stick to their line. I couldn’t belief it when I first experienced it.

I’ve had other cars go out of their way to bump me on every race I’ve played.

Also the paint shop is broken. When adjusting layers it often skips increments. There doesn’t seem to be a way of importing vinyl groups, only liveries and over half my fm6 designs don’t show up. Colours are showing up strangely when you paint.

We we’re told on one of the videos that we would be able to adjust race lengths for single player mode, yet it’s more 2 or 3 lap races which you spend most of getting knocked about by bad AI, while the leader gets a good 6 second lead.

Multiplayer doesn’t allow you to set up a private lobby before inviting people which means more time is wasted for people that race in leagues.

You can adjust single player race length in career. It’s in assists menu.

The options are standard, long and extra long and it’s blooming brilliant:)

Too many people are now goated into just leaving all assists on since it doesn’t affect your credit rewards unless you use mods

multiplayer is so incredibly boring right now

The race settings for adjusting the length are not blooming brilliant.

They’re downright awful. Your choices are two or three laps for the standard, somewhere between half an hour and an hour for long, and up to 50 plus laps for extra long?

They’re basically saying you need to do a two or three lap race or 20 to 25 lap race but no middle ground? Come on every other racing game I have played that has race length adjustments lets you fine tune it a little bit more than that.

Let’s say I got to go home on my lunch break and want to do a fun little race. If I jump into the campaign I’m stuck with a two lap overtake challenge crash Fest of a race or I can’t play because on some tracks the 20-lap race will take you a good 45 minutes if not more

This is another one of those situations where turn 10 just did not put enough thought into an otherwise brilliant idea. I mean, how hard would it be to have an incremental slider like you do in the tuning menu or give you a couple more options such as 5, 10, 15, so on and so on until you get to their maximum 50 or 70 laps… And it’s literally one line of code.

My long race yesterday on short track was more 15 to 20 min. But I only did 2 long races until now.
Sorry this point was already responded.
Anyway, I just have two small issues until now:

  • No restart while racing.
  • No PI group/cars categories TT available in rivals menu
I think long races is a good thing (but I agree it should be adjustable) for game play time and to demonstrate changing weather/time

I’ve raced the majority of Seeker on long.

Most of the races were from 10 to 15 laps with one 7 laps.

Nearly every long race was 15 to 20 minutes… not an hour.

However PPI Drive I do agree there should be more settings

Short (rename standard short) 2 to 3 laps
Standard (6 to 8 laps)
Long 15 to 20 laps)
Extra Long (40 to 50 laps)
Endurance (2 hours upwards)

Wow now i dont to play this game . Theres no restart in race ? Really ? And what is this homologation thing . So i cant race stock in career ? I understand that for multiplayer because of the fair races but in campaign ? Really ? Fh3 system was just great . You get a stock car whole ai gets a stock car . You get some upgrades in your car and whole ai gets some upgrades with their car . They just improvise with you and thats how it supposed to be in a single player . Shame . That campaign really got a potential and they ruined for me ( as i see lot of people disappointed)

FH3, so much more enjoyable.

This game is utterly disappointing. There’s lots of issues with the upgrading aspect with things like the aero and body upgrades not showing any change no matter what option you are on, tire profile not sizing with the rim size you are choosing, terribly lit paint and upgrading areas, the fact that you can’t go into test drive from the upgrade/tune menu and this crappy homologation system that nobody wants. We are car people! We want to build our cars from scratch and in our own way! Other things I’ve seen that are just making this game shitty are as follows

  • No drag race option in multiplayer
  • Rewinds are still way too long
  • Lost ability to turn on headlights in forza vista
  • Can’t see torque or displacement in the upgrade menu
  • No ability to restart race
  • Where’d affinity go?
  • Drivatars are still the biggest idiots on the planet
  • You have 10 formula E cars but can’t even include a Bugatti Veyron, what’s up with that?
  • Going back to the crappy homologation system, I had bought a Type R for a series of races and I actually had to somehow downgrade it from stock parts to be able to race. I repeat downgrade from STOCK parts. I wasn’t physically even able to touch my car I had to get it auto homologated to be able to participate. The stock performance index was a B526 and it took it down to a C500 and took about 30 hp away. One of the stupidest things I’ve ever witnessed from a forza title. Whosever bright idea was to include this system should be fired from the company.

Thee are just some of things I have seen so far and I’ve only been playing it for a day. I don’t know what Turn 10 was thinking with this title but so far it’s the most dissapponting forza release I’ve ever seen.

Dont forget you cant add ai in the private lobby anymore . No wonder they always said nothing but 4K and 700 cars . They dont have features to show us . They removed features . No headlights on forzavista huh ? Lol everytime im checking out forum more i get disappointed about the game . I wanna belive all of theese will be fixed with updates but dont have faith about it .

Oh the Veyron is there…it’s just hidden…like so many others

You’ll need to win the right event or challenge or buy a loot crate to get it though.
Another feature noone asked for.

Hhhhhmmm…
IMO in term of graphicality this game is awesome great, more superior than previous titles

Here are my pics from another thread on my State

Notes :

  • I’m playing on PC @4K HDR…setting ultra
  • Thats pics i’m taken directly shot with my phone camera hehehe
  • Of course its will be more lots lots different quality if see directly on TV
  • Replay mode then pause, adjust the angle, prepare my phone camera, steadyyyyyy & shoooott

I’m satiesfied with this term graphics that Dev adding…great job…
The issues on my rig its framedrop, not stabilize…

This is why i only buy horizon games franchise. They use what they know about the previous horizon & the Motorsport game following, and they create a really good horizon game, like FH3.

Spot on, OP.

A few additions to your list:

I find the AI to be more aggressive than I have seen in a good long time.

Why exactly can’t we race in stock mode in career mode? One of my favorite personal challenges in earlier FMS games was seeing the notice “Your car needs upgrades to be competitive” I would always choose “race anyway” and then see just how well I could do in my under optioned car, usually winning.

The lack of VIP 2x bonus is a travesty.

This game is woefully unfinished and poorly designed. It is missing key features and homologation has sucked all of the fun out of upgrading and the class system. You can even specify the actual time of day…

That said, I still enjoy playing it and that is so frustrating.
