Just curious to know. I use a controller & play using the cockpit view. Today I’m testing my hand at the hood view today… trying to compare the 2 views for most immersion effect that I can get w/o having a wheel.
So… what y’all using?

I use a controller and I almost always use the chase camera, lower or higher depending on what car I’m using.
Hood since I started playing Forza in 2009. I’m a lot faster with this view compared to cockpit.
I guess it depends on what you get used to. I’ve used chase view in most Forzas, but I use cockpit view in FM5 and FM6. I’ve got a wheel now which makes cockpit view more immersive.
Cockpit view always for immersion and realism.
bumper for me…wider FOV
I usually go with close chase, unless I’m racing the green hell I’ll use far chase so I can see my next turn.
I wish we had the helmet view from project cars… The views are one of the few things I enjoyed about that game.
I use a wheel and cockpit view ( or hood view if the cars cockpit is tiny and hard to see out of )
Far chase for online to try to minimize carnage. Cockpit for single player.
I’ve always used far chase but now I like both chase views, and cockpit.
Cockpit for singleplayer and chase cam far for multiplayer
Not too different from some other posters here.
In Single Player, I like to switch it up between Chase Cam Far and Cockpit.
Multiplayer, solely Chase Cam Far.
I play with a wheel and use hood view. Sometimes use cockpit view also but, depending on the car, it often feels … kinda too far from the action
I’ll usually use cockpit unless there are visibility issues, like bad reflections on the windshield. If I’m in a RHD car, I’ll switch to hood view as I can’t seem to concentrate with a cockpit view. Oddly, I have no such problems with RHD IRL.
I’ve never gotten the hang of chase. I have a real hard time controlling cars in chase.
I use cockpit most of the time unless I’m in a lobby with a lot of bad drivers then I switch to chase close for better FOV. It’s also nice to hear what the car sounds like from the outside sometimes anyway.
Chase cam - good for drifting (if you’re using normal steering)
Bumper - best immersion IMO and sense of speed. You can accurately gauge corner distance and braking points.
Hood - great for judging corners but feels a bit slow
Cockpit - really good for immersion but just feels very slow at times and the steering wheel animation can mislead you into thinking what the front tires are actually doing since it doesn’t move around like a real car’s wheel.
Hood for immersion. I’ve never driven a car and had the entire interior in focus. When you’re driving you only focus on the road and everything else is in periferal vision. I find cockpit view just wrong.
Yes it would be nice to get that Shift 2/PCARS effect, it just looks very realistic and cool at the same time. Sometimes in F6 replays, you see the replay cam shift to cockpit view, and the cockpit surroundings are blurred out just like you say, and the driver focuses a few seconds later I suppose when the track becomes straight. Very cool indeed. Hope to see this implemented in F7.
Cockpit view. Heh heh i said view.
but in cockpit the interior is still in your periferal vision as you are looking out the window, it’s only when you focus on the interior it comes into focus. I know what you mean as its all in focus, but if your eyes are not staring at the glove box, then everything else is tuned out anyway as you are staring at the apex coming up.
And yeah cockpit view for me and nothing else, ever
