What do you think about Accolades in Forza Horizon 5?

I think the Accolades are a good addition to Horizon 5, otherwise I would get bored of the game pretty quickly. My goal is to complete the hall of fame but the creative part is very frustrating because I’m not in painting neither tuning.

What do you think about Accolades in general and about the creative part?

I’m like 11,000 accolades away from 1 million.

That’s my goal, anything beyond that will be a bonus.

I like the accolades, gave me something to do over last few months, but yeah some are difficult to get for normal players.

All the creative ones take some definite effort to achieve, and help from others.

I’ve never really looked at them apart from collecting the prizes.

It’s not a bad thing in my view.

I am confused by a couple of the rewards, though. I mean, getting a Jesko for completing all the accolades? What player is not going to have at least one already by the time they get that accolade?

Some you probably neve be able to get, the S2 tour race ones for example.

I can only agree with you and respect for almost 1 million. I’m close to 900k.

I find it absolutely ridiculous too.

I think like everything else it gives you something to chase in the game, but it’s not why I buy these games. One thing I do not like, is the game throws a million things at you early on, Stories, the different Events you can do (showcases, etc), then the different areas you unlock for the various race types and disciplines…and then accolades (Star Cards, basically). Problem is I accidentally stickied an accolade and it leaves a marker on your screen until you achieve it or unselect it, I thought it was something I clicked on the map… it took me asking here what I’d done before another user said “yeah its not on your map, you clicked on something in the accolades screen”.

This is a game that throws so much at you that its User Interface is now almost comically bad and confusing. If you’ve been playing Horizon games for awhile, you’re used to the madness but for those casual gamers or new to the series, it’s too easy to get lost in the sea of menus that change between when you are at a Festival Site or House and then when you are out in the open world.

I totally agree with you and that’s one of the reasons I loved Horizon 1 so much. You started small, you were instructed in everything and it just felt special when you could afford a Bugatti, for example. In Horizon 5 its nothing special.

I’m on about 1,019,000 points and 149 on the Hall of fame. It will be a struggle to get any higher as I’m not a tuner or designer with just a handful of tunes and car liveries. Initially it was a lot of fun working my way through the accolades. Essentially it’s just a rehashed system from the Lego expansion in Horizon 4.

Problem now is there’s nothing much left to do apart from the weekly playlist. The new badge system is a bit of yawn and most of the badges look pretty childish.

Ironically I bought a used XBox late last year to go back and play Horizon 1, 2 and 3. I’ve recently finished Horizon 1 and loved it. The game felt a lot edgier especially street racing. The used XBox came with Need for Speed Heat. I finally got around to installing it a couple of days ago. Wow, love it. I never liked street racing in Horizon 4 or 5 but in Need for Speed Heat it’s a whole new ball game. The streets in the city are so much better to drive around compared to the narrow streets in Guanajuato. The cop chases had a whole new dimension. And Nitrous Oxide, oh yeah baby!!

I’ll continue to play Horizon games but I’ll be cutting back and focussing on Need for Speed Heat. I then likely get Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered.

Highest I’ve been on H of F, is 546… but I dropped to like 800-780 and have stayed around there for like 2.5-3 weeks now.

As I say, just wanna hit 1 milli, and then I’m good… loads of eliminator points I’ll never get, or the open race ones…

Sadly, the point about nothing to do anymore is right… I literally login each day, do the daily and thats it - there is literally nothing left to do once you own the cars and are essentially caught up to the current days challenge.

Even once we get a DLC, I’m sure it will be completed in a few days and back to where we are currently.

I could care less about accolades but I wouldn’t want to see them removed as they don’t impact me in anyway and I know others like this feature. I just wish the community had this same attitude about other optional features in this game.

I have 900k+ and I do all of them that are possible for me but some of them are ridiculous like sell a car for 20mil… so I will never get all accolade cards gold
I like accolades but I never took a look into the H of F I just try to get much accolade cards gold as possible.
there should be more accolade cards with reasonable challenges ofcourse

Not really that interested in them, not into tuning or painting really so a fair few are of no interest to me at all. If i complete some due to general play fair enough but I don’t purposely try to do them.

I have fun with accolades and I’m quite proud of beeing 142nd of 18844410 overall players at exactly this moment.

The concept by itself is fine, but it just seems like a very easy way out of not adding anything resembling proper progression on the developers’ part. Its just busy work on top of even more busy work. Maybe it’d be a little more worthwhile if the prizes were better because I could really care less about earning all of the ForzaLink phrases, and a small handful of cars that should’ve been available in the Autoshow from get-go is only an incentive to participate for so long.

I’ve had fun completing a good amount of them over the last few months. Only really have the rivals ones left.
The only negative I can say is I wish they weren’t as many tied to creative, like blueprints and design sharing. I know I’ll never get those.

I like the to do list aspect. I think the vinyl ones are stupid and should be tied to paint, but it means I know what I need to do to become a pokemon master and more satisfying than the star cards

If I could figure out how to win Eliminator and Horizon Open, I’d have another 10K+ accolades… some of these accolades will never get achieved sadly.

I’ll get to 1 million though, if it takes all year shakes fist at sky

I agree! It’s just frustrating when you’ve come this far, but actually knowing that you won’t necessarily make it because there are components that you can’t really influence. I’m slowly approaching the point where I don’t have anything to do anymore and you can tell immediately how the playing time is decreasing. The map itself is cool, but I find it very boring at times and there is a lot more potential. Every year I ask myself why there isn’t a decent mountain route with lots of switchbaks. In addition, the current one is also full of promo Stuff with drifting and speedtraps. All these Promo stuff sucks, when you just wanna cruise around.
