Weak Car And Track List? What Is Going On?

Forza 6 had 28 Courses, this game has 32, I think only 1 course is actually new to Forza. What is going on here? Why is this game like a re-skinned Forza 6 with better graphics? Most of the new cars are from previous Forza games and cars totally new are mostly specialized race cars.

I am very disappointed, I wanted to see more original tracks, more city courses like Gran Turismo 6 had 8 city tracks. There is like no iconic track this time around, I was hoping to see more completetely new tracks and cars but no, rushed development cycle, what now? Gonna add all the new stuff in DLC?

I am not saying Gran Turismo 6 is good, the flaws of GT6 is what lead me to buy Forza 6 over GT6 but what it does do better than Forza is it has more tracks and it has a track editor. Gran Turismo 6 had 36 courses total, I would like to see Forza create their own original tracks like GT6 did.

I made this forum here explaining why I chose Forza 6 over GT6

With Forza 7 , I am very disappointed, I expected a track editor and more tracks. Hope they at least add more in DLC, this is highly unacceptable.

You expected a track editor? Really…

Then don’t buy it…

It’s clear they put minimal effort into the tracks. Two years passed and they created 1 new environment and remodeled three older ones. I, too, think that they should have created at least some city circuits - Prague and Rio are awesome, for example, it would have been great to see more like them. European cities mostly, dare I say London, Rome, Madrid or even some Japanese cities, not to mention highways, mountain roads (Fujimi Kaido, anyone?) to shake up the racing a little.

But the fact is, two years is not enough for this anymore. At the level where Turn 10 are working and delivering, it’s simply not realistic and too expensive to create even more content. There are not enough resources and not enough time. The past two years were spent upgrading the engine to 4K and bringing the dynamic weather system over from Horizon. As disappointing as it may be, both the tracks and the cars are mostly recycled assets from previous Forza games because firstly, it can be marketed as a huge list, and secondly, it spares a lot of work for the developers. Two birds with one stone. Unfortunately Microsoft forced this franchise into this annual poster child role so the developers have no choice but to reuse assets and package them into new games every year. This prevents real innovation. At this graphical and technical level much more time would be needed to really push the franchise forward. At least 3-4 years would be needed to develop real new games and create meaningful new content but no one dares to say this to the publisher. Because Forza is now a “sustainable business model” with the annual releases. High quality but heavily reused content over and over again.

You either accept this and enjoy what you get or choose other games. Honestly, this year is awesome for racing game fans. DiRT 4, F1 2017, Project CARS 2, Gran Turismo Sport are all quality new games and alternatives. The business model behind Forza won’t change, Microsoft will milk it annually as long as it doesn’t dry up. That’s it.

Very true, I agree 100%. The problem with Project Cars 2 is not enough cars, I just like having a massive 500+ car list with lots of car’s to look at, even if I may not play them all, I just love having that huge selection to choose from a diverse reality of automobiles. Gran Turismo Sport is just their stupid pre-cursor to the big game, it’s like Gran Turismo Prologue. Games like this are not worth playing for me, I am not primarily a racing gamer but I might at least try out Dirt 4 and Project Cars 2 on PC.

I think Gran Turismo 7 might actually be better than Forza 7 if they improved the gameplay, car AI and added a great damage model and improved the car sound. Doubt this will ever happen, GT Sport is that same underwhelming Grant Turismo boring trash, I love the loud engine sounds of Forza, it feels much more intense than Gran Turismo games.

I think the weakest link is the lack of new production vehicles (BMW G30 series, VW Arteon for example) and race cars. I know there are licensing issues with Super GT, but bodykits that would mimic those bodystyles would be great.
They haven’t shown us those “in-house designed” bodykits yet, definitely looking forward to seeing those.

I personally think the track list is pretty good, although I would’ve loved to see Fujimi Kaido and some more city tracks (like Forza 1’s Tokyo Circuit).

If I remember correctly, it has been said in one of the interviews that rims and body kits are just brought over from Horizon 3.

Moved to Off-Topic as thread appears to be mostly focused on a different game played on a different platform and not really relevant to FM7.
