I tweeted to him “Dan…is the team looking into the drivatar problems when racing - ex: one car pulls away, you cannot catch it.”
His reply: “we’ve seen the behavior. fwiw: finishing 1st in career and free play does not award extra CR or XP. 1st-3rd reward the same.”
That about sums it up boys and girls…judging by that comment, this is a very LOW priority or it will not be patched AT ALL.
My reply to Dan was “I’m not worried about CR or XP…if I don’t have a chance of actually winning a race what’s the point!?” - which I think is fair. Take all of this how you want, but I don’t have much hope after that tweet.
The games sell more and more with each iteration so whatever they are doing is probably successful, else it is changed (like microtransactions). However Forza 5 had a much better career system (medals) that actually showed 1st to 3rd get the same payout but did not halt your progress when you did not reach the podium. But … maybe that’s why they did change it? Now they know exactly the base credits every player gets during career progression and can better control the economy? Then again with mods you can spend it all and be stuck with no cars in your garage - which might be countered by the spins. I got a feeling that it’s not entirely random but instead gifts you cars you need to progress even though you can’t afford them.
Do you know him personally then? It’s amazing how angry some people get because they don’t get everything they want in a video game. Do you act the same way in the real world?
Hopefully a mod does something about this, unless this is now appropriate language on this forum.
First of all, I haven’t violated any rules with that post.
Secondly, did you not read the original post? Dan’s response to the OP’s question was borderline hostile. I don’t have to know him personally to recognize a snide comment when I see one. He all but called the OP an idiot by stating the obvious as if it was some amazing information. He admitted to seeing “the behavior”, and completely deflected from the question without giving any useful advice. For God’s sake, it was rude.
OMW this is freaking hilarious. I don’t know Dan at all so I can’t say whether he’s a good guy or suited to his job or any of that…but what I can say is, the Turn 10 team has some work to do in the customer pleasing department. That much is clear.
It’s a really great game but after putting so much work into making it so, how hard is it to listen to what the people want? I know budget clothing store chains with better community / social media feedback.
