Visuals are impeccable 👌

hahaha dlss is broken bro and if you think this game looks fine, you have low standards is all I can say

Strange, on my XSX it looks fine

Are you being sarcastic? Because that’s a race car and those are sticker headlights

I was replying to @S3mj0n , the car is supposed to have sticker headlights but in his case they were very low res.

i play on the series s( i know the potato console bla bla), thing is fh5 looks and sounds like it came this year and fm8 in 2008. I mean closed tracks vs open world - same company - probably same engine… I blame amd for letting everyone use fsr. They claim its 1080p performance mode, but in reality its like 640p with very bad fsr implemetation. AND TURN 10 FIX YOUR CAR UPGRADE BUG ALREADY!!!

Tbh, doesn’t look bad on a Series X. A bit blurry here and there but it’s good. Still needs a lot of tweaking though. FM 7 from 2017 sometimes looks better than it, especially the track surface.

Doesn’t feel like a true new gen upgrade like we saw between FM and FM2 or between FM4 and 5.

I don’t buy the 6 years in development claim. I just don’t.

its blurry everywhere, not here and there, but not really a deal breaker for me. Atleast they got the driving right, its not a slide simulator

I’ve tried all visual modes on Xbox series X and cars at night look terrible, overall not the graphics showcase I was expecting sadly. I hope with some patches it can be improved, in certain conditions the game can look great.

Stay away from visuals mode, it’s a mess. I’ve found Performance mode to be the most consistent. Performance RT can get extra blurry and there are artifacts everywhere. Not really worth the merely marginal improvement in shadows and reflections.

Have you played Doom Eternal or Flight Simulator? Those do ray tracing really well. Metro Exodus is another good one.

Yup, it’s making that at 1440p and 1080p resolution also, it’s “by design” i guess. I’m a PC player with a 3080ti and the game maxed out, 100% render also.

I am on a high end PC, and it looks good… but no where near as good as it should look at only 80fps. I feel like FH5 looks just as good, and if I don’t cap my frame rate it runs at just under 400fps.

The cockpit view in all the cars I have tried so far is terrible. The plastics look like they were made for PS2.

Try looking left/right or back while I’m cockpit view.

Sorry to report this to you guys but FM 5-7 have better visuals ATM. If we could just get a native 4k/HDR patch for those, they’d easily beat FM 23.

This is true, especially on a Series S where it literally looks worse than FM5-6 half the time (FM7 was a downgrade over those two games graphically). It’s quite shocking how they’ve managed to take one step forward and two steps back graphically with FM2023, despite the hardware being much more powerful. Have all the talented people left Turn 10? It seems like it.

You know… If we analyse the trends between each game release… You’ll notice that FM 5 on the Xbox one has the BEST visuals, car audio + sound stage and physics. FM 6 took a few steps back in terms of physics and visuals… Although rain and night driving was incredible. Sounds were nearly as good even though car roster more than doubled.

Then came FM 7 and it improved the physics but not quite to the same level as FM 5. Heck, if you give FM 5 a native 4k/HDR patch I’m betting it going to look much better than FM 7, the FOV was perfect too. FM 7’s car audio wasn’t as consistent or satisfying to hear as FM 5 and 6 combined.

So with every game, they have cut down visual and audio detail to accommodate more content and features perhaps. Listen to the Lexus LFA sound in FM 5 and 6… Then listen to it in the new FM. It’s infuriating…

Or look at the tracks from FM 5, specially the track detail… Then look at the current version. It’s shocking. Check out the rain driving from FM 6 and compare it directly with FM 23…

Like you said, the passion has frizzled it seems and it’s not the same team likely. I loved the days of Xbox 360 Forza and up until FM 5 and 6. BEST FM games ever made.

FM5 (2013) vs FM (2023)

Paradox, we aren’t even asking them to improve upon what we had 8 years ago. We simply want it brought back to the same level. I’m starting to wonder which country they’ve outsourced the entire production to.

I’ll take those FM 5 visuals any day.

You’re supposed to look on the road but the skybox looks so incredibly outdated - I just can’t stop looking at it and wonder how they managed to put a Skybox from 2004 in a 2023 game. (The clouds look like somebody ran with a road roller over them, before they were allowed to rise up to the heavens)

And when I finally manage to look on the ground, I just can’t stop looking at those awful grass textures and I keep wondering how they were able to get grass from a 1999 game into a 2023 game.

And after having all these questions, I start to look at the middle of the screen, where I see my beloved Trueno still using the same car model the original FM back in 2005 already used and so I start to wonder how…
