I’ve just played for around 2h on Series X and to my surprise cars seem to look worse than FH5 counterparts. Reflections, colors especially even resolution 
If I had never played both games, was presented them side by side and asked which is newer/better, I would vote for Horizon (in graphics department). I’m afraid T10 put too much focus on RT, so ineed there is RT during gameplay, but general visuals feel off. I don’t think it was a wise decision, considering only really high-end PCs are able to run games with RT on smoothly and we know consoles are behind performance-wise.
I knew the game will lack content and won’t be ‘revolutionary’ in any way gameplay-wise, but I really counted for it being at least an eye-candy. At it current state it definitely isn’t (it has its moments though). I just hope it’s an early access thing and they will fix it at some point. I’m just feeling a bit stupid I had bought premium. Should have done like I did with FM7 - wait a year after release and have a finished product.

No auction house?!?! UGH So lame! Why are newer games losing features? 
I earned the GT after finishing the first group of careers and then sold it (because I don’t like being gifted cars) before realizing it wasn’t available in the auto show AND you need it for a final event
Without the auction house, I’ll never be able to get it again.

The forced TAA is awful, Turn 10 really needs to add an off option for that and the volumetric fog.

I tried. I really tried to give it a shot on my Series S, but WOW - why are my license plate and club logos, which were perfectly legible on my old Forza edition X1 I created them on, now a blurry, pixelated mess? Why is the carbon fiber texture on my Mustang’s rims so blown up that the threads are wider than the spokes? And this last one I’m very afraid isn’t platform-specific, but why can we no longer adjust vinyl glossiness, like we can in FH5…?

I have a 3 month old custom built high end gaming pc with a RTX 4090.
I also have FH5.
I allowed the game to do the self optimization on both FM and FH5.
Both are running on the highest settings.
There is definitely a measurable difference in the quality of the graphics.
And the better of the two definitely seems to be FH5.

I DO understand that processing the new physics was gonna require some concessions, but didn’t think it would be ‘worse textures than the last game to just be called Forza Motorsport’ bad…

I also find the graphics in Horizon 5 much better than in Forza Motorsport. I play on the PC with an RTX 4090 (WQHD, everything on Ultra) and I couldn’t even see the speed of the Subaru in the cockpit view because the speedometer was so blurry/unsharp.

Agreed. It’s absolutely underwhelming in both graphics and audio and feels totally last generation with a 4k patch applied.
I’m really disappointed in T10. Beyond disappointed.

Thought my tv settings were messed up at least I ain’t the only one noticing the graphics are bad
Playground games are just miles ahead of Turn 10. I think PG should take a crack at the motorsport side of things, because I really think they could do a better job.

It s not good that’s for sure
In terms of graphics, most notably to me are the cars. They’re just kind of underwhelming, especially considering the amount that Turn10 went on about ‘next-gen’, ‘ground up’, ‘improved reflections’ etc. I’m not going to say it looks bad but certainly compared to it’s rivals it doesn’t look all that good & i don’t really notice a difference to FM7.
I have also seen the comparisons to FH5 cars & it is bizarre how much better the cars look in FH5 compared to this, despite all the marketing by Turn10.

Unfortunately, Forza Motorsport has not appeared as what the developer had presented at the Microsoft Showcase. The game is clearly downgraded in terms of graphics. Why are you making turns? You showed us something but didn’t give us what you showed and promised?.
I expect the developers to offer better graphics at least on PC with upcoming updates.

Same issue man. FH5 is gorgeous at max settings with a 4090, even on my 1080p monitors (triples), and I get 130+ FPS natively. I get all kinds of pixelization that looks awful in FM8 at max settings, and only get about 90 FPS.

I am also disappointed. When I put FH5 on, no matter how many times I’ve played it, the visuals always wow me.
I expected FM8 to do the same thing, especially after all of the pre-release footage and the huge development time.

It is what it is. Once the game releases worldwide, maybe the pressure will be on to fix things. Early Access feels like a beta test to be honest…
