Thanks a bunch to the ones of you who’ve downloaded and liked my vinyl groups lately! Since I last played FH5, my likes are now up to 392, more than double what I had just days ago! Amazing. Just amazing. I really have a hope to get another painting accolade before too long!
@SweedishThunder @Krachkind @SlowJournalist
You should all see some movement on your vinyl likes/uses. Onward and upward.
BTW @SweedishThunder, your superman is gorgeous!
Oh… and for everyone using my tunes… I’m sorry for your loss. (I know nothing about tuning). But thanks for taking one for the team!
@DamagedZebra51 download some livery and like @SlowJournalist download and like livery y vinyils. Little jump.
I liked and downloaded a few of @SweedishThunder’s logos
I’m with tunes (in order of cars) and downloaded and like several suggestions(Damaged,Cmdr,Swedish,Qi Rae,Krachkind,Fuch…)so a little jump from I like you for some.
I’m going for Audi…
Slightly off topic, but if you guys are developing vinyl groups or liveries, check out this website:
http://chris-hill.co.uk/forzacolour.php
You upload a jpg to it, and then it lets you pick a color on the image and it spits out the numbers to put in Forza to pick that exact color. It’s been a game changer for me, as apparently my eyeball isn’t anywhere close to right when it comes to just using the regular color chooser thing.
Thanks!
I just spent some time downloading and liking a bunch of vinyl groups from a bunch of people who needed it according to the stylesheet, and @GaymerGirl67 - you made me feel all fuzzy and warm inside with all your Canadian vinyls (I studied at Western in London, ON 2002-2007). I also got most of the pride vinyls and a Swedish one. Nice!

Just throwing this out there. If people aren’t updating their numbers (or leave them blank), what’s the point?
Also, I went ahead and got selfish and finished off my own vinyl accolades. lol. Only tunes left for me. Going to pick someone from the list now and give them some tune love.
Yeah!! thanks
I really hope that the people who want help update their numbers. I updated mine earlier today, since it looks weird if I mention how I’m thankful for the help that I have received without any changes in my numbers on the sheet.
@SweedishThunder Got a few likes on some of your tunes before my pc crashed. Been going at this stuff for a couple hours so far so I’ll get back to your tunes later today probably.
I stopped by the Accolades top list in the game, and realized that at least the top-100 players have accumulated Accolades numbers that I can’t ever reach. I only have about 26k more to earn, giving me approximately 1.1 million, but more than a hundred players have more than 1.2 million, and the #1 player more than 4 million. Is there a glitch I don’t know about?
Some of the accolades are repeatable, weekly. Don’t get me wrong… there’s probably also cheating at the highest numbers, but there is a legit way to exceed what you would expect the max accolades to be. Which accolades are repeatable isn’t very well documented and it’s not sure whether it is intended behavior for the game.
I’ve not messed with it. I’m just trying to finish all the ones I can.
Thanks. Weird to have some repeatable. Oh well.
@SweedishThunder - You should see over 200 tune likes (might be around 250). I have approx 70 more downloaded but I’ll hit the like on those tomorrow.
Edit: Ok. 395 Tune likes (or very close to it) That’s all for me this week.
kicked. red squad, hello - although, i prefer black…
ty for all helps!
i will be actively helping others according to the chart index as best i can.
on 'n on!
Thanks for the help.
I’m at maximum livery, tunes, vinyls… And I have to do some cleaning.
So I started doing vinyl groups just for the accolades. It’s something I’ve come to enjoy, though. Here’s my latest piece. It’s called “YellowSub” because apparently “Submarine” is on the banned word list in Forza. Because… yeah. I don’t know. At 537 layers it’s got more layers than any of my previous works, and almost each of those layers was done by hand (unlike, for example, my Miami Vice logo which was a lot of “copy and paste” once I made a single palm tree branch, and just replicated it).
I used the glass2k program to help trace according to a pattern. Honestly that was almost more of a pain that it was a help, because while it ensures accuracy, it often causes you to have to create a bunch of extra layers to exactly replicate a shape that could likely have been pretty reasonably approximated with fewer layers (at the expense of not being exactly accurate).
My first cut looks hideous, because it’s just serving as the base layers, and relies on the top line layers to make everything look better:
I was thinking the periscopes and rainbow would be challenging, but those were actually easy sections because they were fairly geometric and could be built up in layers. The most challenging part ended up being just doing the curvy line work. One thing I definitely learned regarding curves is that if you can’t exactly replicate a curve on a larger scale it pays to shrink your attempt at it and do it in smaller chunks. If it ends up being not thick enough, you just replicate it and shift it over a bit to give it the necessary thickness. The angle is more important than matching the size, because it’s easy to copy a layer (but it can be hard to line things up once the angles get too wonky).

This will likely be featured on an upcoming livery with a yellow color scheme (will undoubtedly have some Yellow Submarine reference, but won’t be exactly yellow submarine because… profanity filters).
I’ve never really looked into ‘how to’ methods for creating vinyls and really just came up with my own method. This grid approach is pretty cool. I did consider this method but without access to a printer or anything I finally settled on a method where I bring up what I want to draw in a browser window. Then I just flip back and forth (task swap) between the browser and game while I slowly but surely get everything placed wherever it needs to go.
