Thanks for the info regarding this. Without this thread, I’d definitely overdo what I thought was expected to get the uses count.
I’ll start going through every poster in this thread this weekend and help you out with some uses and likes.

one more tip: I’m a minimalist so I un-share a lot of stuff. what I didn’t know until recently is if you re-share something (must be same name and date) it reactivates the stats. this method essentially reconnects you to the copies people are still using, and works for tunes, liveries and vinyls.

I’m sitting at just over 500 vinyl group uses, and almost all of those are from my son’s account. I padded out my vinyl groups to be at 150, and each run of applying them to a different car seems to prompt another burst of vinyl group uses.
I mean… I suppose it’s possible that they’re “organic” uses from the internet, but they correspond to when I do them and there aren’t the accompanying downloads or likes… so I’m pretty sure it’s me doing it. At this point I’m just ready to be done with the whole “completionist” thing.

this game is so glitchy, I wouldn’t be surprised if it just works differently for everyone.
your designs are good, you’ve earned the creative accolades. unfortunately there’s a lot of people just spamming endless tunes and black squares with titles like 1A

Everybody in this thread has now been visited (I couldn’t find a couple of you - PlageBLN and Not_here_too), and I’ve downloaded and liked 12 (if you had that many) vinyl groups per GT. I also followed you for good measure.
I hope you get the accolade data stats for me doing so.

if you do one race for 10 hours (yes I know) then about 30-40 “uses” rack up for tunes and designs. Think that’s where the 15 minutes thing originates, there’s some truth as it doesn’t appear to match laps completed.
I tested a 2 hour race this morning with 15 vinyls and didnt get any additional use credits for livery or vinyl, not sure about the tune
not attempting to argue with you, rather if I did get those uses from long races but you didn’t when doing essentially the same thing, that’s weird
the list of possible causes:
1 - the game is unreliable/buggy
2 - we’re doing something different
Ockham’s Razor firmly suggests the answer is 1
I certainly think it’s erratic which hampers efforts to figure out what’s actually happening - it’s obviously unclear what the requirements really are
@T10ManteoMax no-one at T10 or PG has clarified how these systems work, please would you work on that, this affects the entire player base and even relative experts do not know how it works
Concur. I’ve observed multiple tune and livery usage boost from people doing long single races. I have not observed that with the vinyl groups. I’m feeling more and more confident that the counting happens for those as you apply the vinyl group.
Speculating that they didn’t have an easy way to detect which vinyl groups are equipped at any given time like they can with liveries or tunes, so it was more feasible to add an increment in the “apply vinyl shapes and groups editor”.

LOL! The cat cracks me up.
When I was looking to up my vinyl group count but I didn’t want to just spam numbers or random shapes, I looked up tangram patterns and re-created those. Thus the cats and the bats. It was actually kind of a neat way to introduce how you can use the basic vinyl shapes to make more complex patterns. Obviously by that point I’d already done some way more complicated stuff, but if somebody was getting into the vinyl editor with zero experience at all, doing some tangram patterns might help.
Your van looks sharp! When I’ve been applying the vinyl groups I’ve just been slapping them on over top of each other, so it’s not very… aesthetic.

I looked at and liked some photos of the ones of you that I followed. Unfortunately, I ran out file space to get any of your tunes, and I rarely use liveries made by others so I didn’t get any of those either.
It’s quite nice and refreshing to check out what others have created!!

Noticed a pretty big bump in DLs for both vinyls & liveries, as well as some new followers, so thank you to any of you on this thread who contributed to that; it’s very appreciated & hope you like the designs!

Going to start hunting down vinyls from people in here sometime tomorrow. Still need lots of downloads/likes/uses on vinyls, designs (and even likes on tunes believe it or not, despite it being my best skill).
