Very Dissapointing game

I have preordered every Forza since Forza 3, even waited outside GameStop at midnight, but this one is seriously disappointing. But before I get into the negatives, I will say that the camera shaking and the physics are outstanding, and the sound is pretty good, but the list of cons is much longer,

First and foremost, the absence of Toyota and Lexus, I don’t know if you had trouble getting the rights or what, but this cannot be overlooked. You can’t have a car game without one of the worlds largest automotive companies featured.

Secondly the graphics are terribly lacking, what happened to the beautiful screen shots released when the game was announced? The amazing detail, it’s just gone, all they’ve done is said, “look! The mirrors and wiper vibrate and shake when you go fast” The rain on the ground look pretty good, but the drops on the windshield look kind of poor.

The “dynamic” weather doesn’t seem dynamic at all. It either starts raining halfway through a race, or it stops raining halfway through. Big whoop.

They have had the same vinyls and decals since Forza 4, and the same exact studio for applying them, no new fonts, no new stickers, nothing. Give us a “text entry” to apply word decals on a car instead of applying them letter by letter.

The lighting looks pretty poor as well, I too thought it looked more like a game from PS2, shadows are bad, detail is bad.

They need to take a few pointers from Gran Turismo when it comes to realism, for one, wind noise and sense of speed. Driving a car at over 150mph in Gran Turismo is how it should be, you shouldn’t even be able to hear the engine over the road roar and wind noise.

Also a great feature in GT was in online race lobbies, where tuning and test driving could be done right in the lobby.

The list goes on and on, and there is just to many flaws to list here. Feel free to list your complaints and blow this up so T10 can start working on their list of improvements for Forza 8 that they won’t do.

Given the choice of Porsche, a relatively new return or Toyota I’ll take Porsche.

From what I have seen Toyota and T10 couldn’t reach a licensing agreement this time.

The graphics are pretty impressive on PC, 4K Ultra settings, with a 1080 Ti. You can only expect so much with old hardware like the xbox one.

i’m playing FM7 on 49ks8500 4k resoultion (1080ti) and i’m so angry about the graphics.

most of tress are 2d and have very poor texture quality. i don’t even wanna talk about the sidetracks, etcs.

liveries in FM7 are still 720p or 1080p which are exactly same with fm4

I think the graphics are geared to 4K HDR and once the xbox one x is released if you have that kind of TV you will not be complaining. It is a bit of a shame as most people getting the game now will stay with xbox one and F6 graphics are actually better - this is really very strange and if I were more cynical I might say it’s a deliberate ploy. Luckily I’m not that cynical.

So, the gameplay - is actually fantastic (gasp!) The handling and driving physics are a big step up, the AI is much better too. The sound is fantastic, particularly in cockpit or dash view. Nice touches with the vibrations etc, and the (ahem) ‘dynamic’ weather. So no point complaining about any of this ‘new stuff’ - we didn’t have it before so I’d rather have it than not.

Gameplay is a winner - can’t keep everyone happy but the focus on car physics and AI leads to a much improved experience. I just completed an endurance race in the Z06 and the handling was brilliant - I am hooked again.

Not going to complain about graphics as they look good to me.

Most disappointing game I have ever bought. Forza Ford is my second most beloved game series of all time and they have yet to make a good one for Xbox one.

Once again the fun and point of modifying and upgrading is gone. I don’t play forza for it to be a super aim. I play because I love cars and upgrading them. I love seeing what I can do and feeling a sense of pride when it pays off in campaign, but that’s fine now.

The cars handle like garbage. My very none performance 2009 Pontiac G6 GT can take turns better in real life at higher speeds then the cars in this game can(that porche in the first race was the worst). The big thing about it is that it’s not a problem in any other Forza.

Weather as stated above is kinda lame and comes off as a cheap gimic and not some awesome new feature.

The collector tiers and locking cars that people want behind an assload of cars that they don’t want. Enough said about that one.

Drivatars… STILL!!! If I wanted to play with non-driving regards I would play multiplayer. But I have no interest in multiplayer.

Missing test drive outside of races. Sucks for those of us who like to tune cars.

Long load times for races, what is the point of installing the game if it still takes forever to load?

There is more, but I stopped caring. This is the game that finally killed Forms for me. With 343 killing Halo and now Forza dieing I don’t see a reason to stick with Xbox

so sell your x-box and go buy a PS4 try their racing games…they not as good Forza’s

Is that bad huh?

Spot on comments - terrible graphics and very dull colours - and this is supposed to be a showcase for the Xbox One X.

Graphics were horrid for me too. I have a 2017 4K Samsung television. Pick a certain car/track and race in Forza 7. Then, pop in Forza 6 and do the same. Forza 6 is shockingly better! Ditto for 5. I don’t have my 360 hooked up, but I’m curious if 7 is even on par with F3 and F4. I think Turn 10 had to make a lot of compromises in order to boast about 4K/HDR/60fps/ and semi-dynamic weather in their marketing. That’s probably why so many core features got stripped away. Anyone else notice all the matte AI cars, or the 2D trees at Maple Valley? OMG.

It disappointed me for 8 hours straight, lol.

Im still not best pleased with the outcome of this game. I’ve been playing it since forza 2

Sorry, if I’m adding more negativity to the whole disappointment but I believe we may have been misled. They did not showcase the base version at all. They showcased mostly the demo and the Xbox One X.

However, the demo that I played on my regular Xbox One looked really beautiful at Dubai but the retail version of this track doesn’t. I picked off the differences right away. Even the sounds stood out a bit in the demo.

The more I see these threads and give it careful thought the more I believe we are being subconsciously coaxed into getting the Xbox One X. The base Xbox One is a capable console and FM5 AND FM6 is living proof of that. But FM7 will have you believe otherwise.

I must admit I am rather disappointed, I feel like this is abit of an Inbetween game… Somthing to fill the gap between forza 6 - 8 abit like forza 5 was crap and seemed like a demo for forza 6. The driving physics and graphics I think are great cant fault them the game looks great on my 4k TV. Although so many things that they improved on forza horizon should have been implicated into this game but I feel like forza has actually taken a step back with this game with everything except physics and graphics. Everything else is whack, I cant even find rivals at all? And the multilayer hoppers… Awful at the moment, I really hope that changes. Also it’s so glitchy, when I change visible upgrades alot or the time nothing changes at all. And there is a serious lack of JDM cars… Hopefully that’s coming in a DLC. [Mod Edit - Abbreviated profanity, profanity and profanity that is disguised but still alludes to the words are not permitted - D]

I’ve got to say that I’m extremely disappointed and frustrated with this iteration. Where do I start?! I think graphically it still looks great. Maybe a little too dark in some areas but it’s nothing worse or nothing better than I’d expect. I pre-ordered a Project Scorpio only because I thought I’d have thoroughly enjoyed this game. With how disappointed I am with Forza 7 I am most likely going to trade/sell the game on and cancel my Project Scorpio pre-order. I have every Forza Motorsport and Forza Horizon game. Forza 4 so far has been the peak of the series. Forza 6 was fantastic on a technical level but I absolutely hated the forced direction of the career mode and the addition of mods as well made it feel dumbed down - completely the opposite of what I look for in a sim racer like this.

So Forza 7 has taken the flaws to a whole new level, atleast from my point of view. Here are the things that have absolutely put me off this game:

Homologation: I’m now forced to race cars already upgraded? I would have much preferred to have the choice to race my cars in their factory specs, or have the option to upgrade them to where I wanted them, like in Forza 4 (E,D,C,B,A class). Homologation constricts our options and choices so much it’s not funny.

No Qualifying Laps: Why the hell is there no option to qualify for grid position? This should have been a standard since the inception of the Forza Motorsport series. Not having the option to qualify and place highly on the grid limits competition and makes for boring racing. Always starting from the back of the grid and playing catch up gets boring pretty quickly - especially 7 iterations in. There’s no excuse for not having this option.

Distribution of the Series points: Each race gives a different amount of points for placing, but the big issue is the difference in points. In the first race the difference between 1st-2nd-3rd… is 5 points difference. Second race is 10 points, third-fifth race is 15 points and sixth race is 20 points. This means placing first is way more important in the later races. Why is winning one race mroe important than another? You can place 1st in the first 2 races and then place 3rd in race 3 and not win on the championship points because of the increased difference. Again this limits competitive play. Instead of accepting a third place we’re more likely to restart the race, use the rewind feature a bunch of times, lower the A.I difficulty or what I like to do: Pit the A.I to better distribute championship points!

Cars are now locked behind loot boxes: Go home Turn 10, you’re drunk. Although still a little silly, it wasn’t a truly big deal to limit what cars we could purchase due to a tiered system. But to hide cars behind an RnG loot box system? What happened to allowing us to buy any car at any rate we choose in the previous 6 iterations of the Motorsport series and the last 3 iterations of Horizon? 700 cars imo is now false advertising as these cars are not readily available and some of them you may never get to own due to this abysmal system.

Mods: Whilst optional I don’t think they have a place in a sim racer. Trying to encourage racing with certain assists and what not goes against what the core game should be - pure racing.

This game is dumbed down to the max. Not only is there no additional rewards for racing without assists, there’s mods to actually encourage us to play with assists on. The series has taken a turn for the wrost imo. Will most likely be the last Forza titled game I ever buy.

I think it is because of such incendiary comments that complaints either don’t get taken seriously or people end up getting banned. I understand your disappointment, but at least try listing out your concerns in neat and orderly fashion. Leave some suggestions. I have a few concerns of my own and I took the liberty of listing them all out.

You never know, the said issues might get fixed. You never know…

Yeah, we know. You want the sun rise in the east every morning, it becomes pretty easy to predict. Turn10 will do what turn10 does. Nothing of substance but next version you’ll be able to add a custom tinted visor to your helmet.

If FM6 is anything to go by, we will probably be getting fixes sooner than we think. Or not. Either way, they’ll be here. It’s a time-consuming process I’m sure.

This feels like the worse Forza to date. It is built around microtransactions and the VIP is a complete scam now. Only 5 100% mods. come on, what is that? If I wanted mod I would have bought them in game, I would have never bought the temporary boosts with real money… Canceled my Pre-Order on the Xbox one X because I am soo disappointed Microsoft and turn 10 never disclosed how it was different than the other Forza’s and even changed the description for the VIP once the Ultimate Edition launched…
