So in Forza 4 if you upgraded your car with racing exhaust and racing cam, you could hear a huge difference in how the car idles, revs and so on… In Forza 5, I have fully upgraded many cars and the sound from completely stock to fully upgraded does not change at all. Will they do an update to fix this?
No.
I’ve noticed quite a big difference on several cars. The '94 Miata, for instance is much louder with a racing exhaust installed.
Though, it does seem like it’s very noticeable with certain cars, while others sound pretty much unchanged.
In the older Forza’s you would get an amazing gearbox whine when you upgraded to a race gearbox…not in Forza 5…why? This takes a lot away from the game for me as I believe the sound really makes these games…poor!
You want gear whine, drive the racing Aston DBR9!
I suspect most of the effort went into building the new, next-gen 3D models of the cars, especially with the Forzavista feature being available on more than half of the cars in the game. FM6 will be able to use many of these graphic resources, so T10 will have more time to work on the sound. (crosses fingers)
