Exhuast upgrades do they change the sound of the car

I noticed that the cars exhuast notes don’t change when you upgrade but with the Mustang I put on the super charger and the car got really loud like a exhuast upgrade weird

We really need the days of FM2 when sounds change after exhaust upgrade… Please Turn 10 - In FM5 the BMW E36 M3 was the only one who changed sound…

I tried to replicate this but with no luck. Are you talking about the 2015 Mustang? Please share the exact upgrades you have for the car because I would like to see if this works. I’m disappointed that the exhaust upgrades in this game don’t affect the sound of the cars like they did in FM5.

This is really rather disappointing if I’m honest. I don’t like to moan but, well, if I put a racing exhaust on my standard car I expect it to sound different, especially on a Ford Focus. I decided to make an AWD Focus Rally Car yesterday. Slapped a racing exhaust on it and it sounded exactly the same. I really would like my rally car to sound like a rally car, especially as the Focus in question is in the rally car class.

I’m finding that it all depends on the mods you make to the car. Like cams make the car loud as hell while race exhuast don’t do a thing but sport exhuast will. It’s all screwed up.also I’m finding depending on what headphone/sound system I’m using changes the sound of the cars it’s strange lolol

fully upgraded 300zx sounds ok through expensive surround sound headphones but through 7.1 dts Yamaha receiver it sounds nasty. Much more aggressive.

P.s omega doom I will send what I did to the 2015 mustang

Seems that not all but many of the cars don’t sound nearly as good in this game as they did in FM5. Really disappointing. Exhaust upgrade should change the sound but I’m not hearing any difference.

I might be crazy but it seems that race exhaust, and a racing cam shaft makes the exhaust sound louder.

We’ll after going home and experimenting with different cars tonight all I can say is f-turn10 you guys are very lazy in the sound department. Sure they can trick all the new buyers of the forza series they won’t know but veterans of the series will know. Only some cars change with exhaust upgrades but only a handful also they just raise the distortion Not a real change in my book. Adding turbos or superchargers on cars is hit and miss I mean what’s the point of boost I want to here turbos spool superchargers whine. Turn 10 get it right for once the sound a car makes is its soul sure it can look amazing but with out the right sound it has no heart no passion.

The other thing I would like to point out is that when the gt series first came out they use to have good sound by 90’s standards. When forza came out it blew the doors off gt sounds. Then we got forza 2 which was incredibley done. Then they changed for forza 3 and have pretty much stayed the same changed a little in forza 5. They are becoming like the gt series getting complacent people will buy it any way.

What I don’t understand is why have some cars like the r8 sound incredible but lack on most other cars. Sorry for my ranting but I’m a audio junky and it’s really passing me off.

Why not make it easy and just copy the sound data over from F5 ?

On many cars it does sound like they copied the FM5 audio but it seems to only be stock exhaust sound that carried over. It really is a shame.

Ok so it’s not me… I refused to buy 5 and still won’t buy it… thought I’d give FH2 benefit of doubt… least when you go 180+ in the car it doesn’t shake the damn screen like it did in the first Horizon game. But yes, it’s lacking the sound… :frowning:

Hello,

i’ve been playing Forza for many years now and got every single Forza since Forza 2 and i’m a litte car exhaust sound fetishist, too. In the newest Forza i’ve noticed that Turn10 improved the exhaust sound of many cars, e.g. C63 AMG Black Series. But why is it, that only the new Lamborghini Huracán LP 610-4 and the Audi R8 Coupé V10 plus 5.2 FSI quattro are popping & banging after you step of the gas? This new “feature” in my opinion makes the car sound more realistic.
So for example the Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Superleggera, although it has nearly the same engine as the Audi R8, it does not do the popping & banging after you step of the gas. I’ve driven a lot of different cars in Forza Horizon 2, but the Huracán and the R8 are the only ones, which have this new realistic “feature”. But why is that so?

Regards

Not all cars back fire and the ones that do don’t do it every time you get off the gas,i think its more realistic this time around.

No I dont mean the backfire, where flames come out of the exhaust . The backfire have many cars in FH 2 but the popping & banging have only the R8 and the Huracán. In this video (0-340 km/h Lamborghini Huracán Launch Control Test sport auto - YouTube) watch it from 8 to 14 sec. There is no backfire, but a lot of popping & banging, just like the Huracán in FH 2
