SOUND BUG EXHAUSTS TURBOS ETC.

anyone having engine audio bugs ??? my cars do often keep freezing the audio then it returns as normal but happens quite often so its getting annoying any chance of an update to fix this.

Why do exhausts make no difference to the sound of the car ? also why are the superchargers/turbos really quiet ? i want to hear turbos chatter/spoil dump valves etc for the immersion nothing worse then running full turbo upgrades and you can’t hear it.

the reason i posted this is because the other forza games nail this just fine seems crazy to me that noone working on the game made a point of saying we got to fix this.

i love the game just a few little fixes to make this perfect.

i would like other members of this forum to add some input to this out of interest.

Are you referring to sound lags as described in these two threads?

OP is correct about the exhaust and forced induction upgrades. On most cars they make little to no audible difference. Try equipping a supercharger conversion on the 2015 Mustang - there is no supercharger whine even when you upgrade to race tier with intercooler. It’s hit or miss for other cars. A fully upgraded turbo on the 1981 Scirocco sounds properly menacing and akin to FM5.

As for exhaust upgrades, I’ve tested over 130 different cars so far by equipping race exhaust and have only discovered 2 cars whose exhaust tone changes significantly upon installation. These being the 1992 Nissan Silvia and 1993 Nissan 240SX. The difference in sound from stock to race exhaust on the 240SX in particular is massive. It’s unfortunate that this is not the case for almost every other car.

Turbo blowoff sounds seem glitched anyway. They will disappear completely sometimes in freeroam which is where the engine revs hanging bug also happens. If you have a circuit race though that’s on a closed circuit with no other traffic etc then the engine rev hanging doesn’t happen and turbo blowoffs always work as they should.

As for race exhausts, not one car I’ve put one on has made it sound any different. It’s particularly disappointing if you want your rally car to sound like a rally car. I made a WRC rally car with a Ford Focus but it didn’t sound any different with the race exhaust :frowning:

Yeah, I was very surprised to find that the race exhaust made an audible difference on the 240SX and Silvia. Makes you wonder if it was a deliberate decision to have only a select few cars work this way or if it’s some sort of bug in the audio data and we’re all missing out on some monstrous, ear-piercing, tunnel-flyby open pipe goodness for every single vehicle.

Agreed there should be more sound of turbos superchargers etc. Does anyone remember the howl of the mustang 1000 supercharger in FH1. Absolutely mint and my favourite FH1 car.

Have to agree, esepcially exhaust upgrades. I assumed they used similar, if not nearly exactly the same audio assests from Forza 5 so it’s strange only 1% or just a few more have an audible difference…perhaps an update will eventually fix this? Would be nice.

I get the weird engine audio hangups, but wastegate, bov, superchargers etc all work fine for me. With a fully built rb26 i can’t even hear the engine with the amount of wastegate there is.

After all my testing I think there might be a audio issue example the 240sx race exhuast is loud as hell but the engine sound is very quiet. BMW m3 engine loud as hell exhuast quiet. It’s ether a mixing issue or there needs to be a update to fix this why do so much work on intake sounds on the BMW and do nothing for the exhuast. I think the sounds are not loading like they should.

After playing last night and never having an issue 2 new ones I’ve experienced have popped up, all of my sr20s stopped sounding right while i was in singleplayer, then when i went to multiplayer the proper sound files loaded. Then my r32 stopped having sound completely which other people have experienced.
