Better Turbo sounds and engine audio tuning

FH5 did a decent job with engine sounds changing based off different upgrades but it is hard to make a car that feels like you. A way to tune/customise the engine, exhaust and induction sound similar to how need for speed has done it would make this next game great.

The same sounds from many games, all sound so “tube-y” 1 sound for most cars, also turbos could spool louder/ different wastegate sounds, fh5 are just outplayed and choppy, also exhaust flames, or quick 1 frame flames out of the exhaust like a big pop, and loud pops? I love forza

We need to hear those turbos spooling even MORE!!! Everyone loves a good turbo sound, why not TURN IT UP ?

Having real tuning sounds that is like when you tune your car from the standard hp, lets say 2.0 l petrol engine with 180 hp, to 400-500 hp. You would hear just by it idling that its put som money and work in. Loud and brutal engine, exhaust and turbo/supercharger. Also have different options on like blow-off valve, wastegate, airfilter, exhausts. To have various options on sounds on each upgrade.

I hope they include this. Along with unique idling and revving sounds to match.

In the new Forza Motorsport I suggest the turbo audio (turbo BOV flutter) used for the 2022 Subaru BRZ when added via Aspiration Conversion and upgraded to the Race Single Turbo should be used for all Race Single Turbo upgrades. I love that sound and it is representative of big single turbos IRL. At least I’d love to hear that audio for the 1998 Toyota Supra RZ and 2002 Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec II Race Single and/or Dual Turbos. I figure this may even be an easier change since the audio already exists. Or you could allow players to select the turbo audio from available options in the game regardless of the turbo upgrade selected.

a sound like that of dsg farts both in golf and hot hacth

As many poeple know most of the older cars in the Forza series have no Turbo/Supercharger from the factory. While some came off the factory floor already boosted. The car scene wanted more from these cars. So what do we do? We upgrade the internals of the car, change out the exhaust, go for a big turbo and also mostly add an External wastegate to it.

Starting to get to the point here, what sound is more iconic than a Scooby blasting down the street and you hear that wastegate open up as soon as it reaches peak boost? Exactly my point.

My suggestion is why not add like a slider or a mechanic like that, so that people can choose between having an External Wastegate or an Internal Wastegate when slapping a turbo on their car.

Would be awesome to have that Iconic sound in game, oh and don’t forget the flames😉

Great idea my friend

Please improve turbo sounds and how they work, also better spool noises as you can never really hear them, for instance when sat at mph in certain cars you change gear and the turbo will flutter? as for better sounds we need more of a variety of sounds, some louder etc, when putting a bigger turbo on it would be nice for a loud spool and better BOV sounds, they haven’t really been changed much over the years

+1 for more immersion and fun-factor in all sounds, even if not entirely realistic.

Take some cues from Codie’s games like DR2.0, Grid Legends, and add a little extra excitement like more (and especially more varied) pops/crackles, turbo and supercharger sounds, diff whines, grit hitting the inside of the wheel arches etc.

And in terms of peripheral sounds, please increase the volume and sound effects from other cars, FM7 is a little quiet that way, cars pass you and can only just be heard over your own engine, and you can’t hear them at all once they’re 20m away.

My suggestion for cars that are turbocharged in the new Forza Motorsport is that the blow off vavle makes sounds only when boost pressure is built just like in reality. In all the current Forza Motorsports and Forza Horizons the cars that are turbocharged, they blow off even on turbo vacuum which turbochargers don’t blow off on vacuum pressure. Please correct and improve on this by allowing cars to blow off only when pressure is built and the loudness of the blow off louder upon more boost pressure built up, more pressure, louder blow off, vacuum pressure, no blowoff. Please improve this in the new Forza Motorsport.

I think the turbo and blow-off valve sounds need to match the actual cars.

For example, the P1 sound is really disappointing. It doesn’t have that mechanical sound of the real car or the loud and prominent blow-off valve sound of the actual P1.

It sounds like they remixed some of the sounds of the modern McLarens to produce a “this will do” P1 sound along with a very generic and weak turbo sound.

Wait till you hear the 458s and the 812 Superfast :neutral_face:

This and louder exhausts please!

Right now, the cars sound like reverby vacuum cleaners with varying pitch and tone.

Forza Motorsport, Rebuilt from the ground up but uses the same Turbo/Bypass Valve sounds from the last 4 games. this is nonsense! There are SO many cars that have dated textures and make the same “noises” they has always have. There are no wastegate sounds or updates in that department. It almost like the devs all drive Toyota Corollas and Nissan Pathfinders.

GrN turiZmo 3 has them beat when it comes to turbo sounds and that’s 22 years old

There are already so many different audio files in-game for turbo spool and blow-off valve sounds. Why not just give us an upgrade option (that provides no increase in performance) to cycle between these sounds on our turbocharged cars? Make all options available across the board instead of limiting them to being built into the turbo upgrades (specifically blow-off valves), so we don’t have to upgrade (or downgrade) a turbo to get the ideal sound we want.

you know, this has been mentioned several times on the forums for FM7, FM6 & as I recall FM5 (worst audio/ EQ problems). I WISH they would see this, and listen to the community.

That’s sad man, truly. It’s such a simplistic means to making such a dramatic difference. The tools are already in-house, all they need to do is add it to the system. If they continue to fail to be innovative, their game will continue to fail, and they’ve been falling into the gutter for a while now. Sad thing is, after playing FM 2023, it made me boot up GT7 today and let me tell you, the car quality is leagues apart. And when in motion where most of your gameplay is, all that foliage quality in FM begins to mean absolutely nothing at all. GT7 hits way too many check points and honestly, I thought FM would fill in what GT7 lacked, but after booting up GT7 again, I realize it’s vice-versa. I hope with continued additions and updates, that FM buffs itself out and begins to shine. The community is literally giving out the answers to the test, but they don’t want to hear it.

Perhaps we should give them some time. I’m sure they will refine and buff up car audio across the board. I mean they’d better. This is a AAA Xbox racer.
