**UPDATED - Rim Selection

In one of the prelaunch interviews, it was mentioned there would be many more ‘motorsport influenced’ rims as as well ‘more tuning options than in previous games’ (or words to that effect). I haven’t been able to find any details anywhere from the few people who seem to have the full game already, so figured I’d just throw this out there. Anyone got any updates/info?

I think Forza is the best racing game franchise there is, but I must say I always find their relative silence about what differences the game will actually contain compared to previous installments in the lead up to the release a bit strange. Yes, I know they’re rushing to get everything set for the launch, but it wouldn’t take much to show off the new customization options for people a few weeks out and would likely result in a lot more pre-sales from potential buyers.

*Oh, and before anyone replies with the usual “ZOMG who cares about rims and tuning!?!?” Forza-Is-Infallible-In-Every-Way stuff… LOTS of us care more about car customization than any other element of the gameplay… so y’know… shhhhhh.

Today i watched a video and this guy showed the rim collection. I would say you have a lot more choice now!

Awesome! thanks for the reply

Can you link to it if possible? (I know the mods may delete it, but it’s worth a try)

AR12 rips thru some of them quickly in the widebody GT86 video (not sure if its ok to post links), but I remember hearing we would be getting things like centerlock wheels like the Porsche 911 GT3 RS and others. At 2:05 of that video, it is a centerlock wheel. He claims he will have a video showing these “soon.”

“Wheel options will be abundant in Forza Motorsport 7. In addition to bringing over a number of the new-entry wheels from Forza Horizon 3, we’re adding a selection of new race-inspired wheels.” ~ From the week 3 reveal on July 31st.

Hope this helps.

Cheers, I did catch that one. I noticed the Speedline F1 wheels and some white 5 spokes that look quite similar to the stock Quattro s1 Speedlines - both of which are VERY welcome additions to the fold.

Just trying to satisfy my curiosity about the other new additions before the 29th.

As far as tuning options, I’m really hoping for a track width/offset adjustment setting, as I know a lot of people have been requesting it for years.

Agreed with Woody above. I’ve been praying for adjustable offset for years. It wouldn’t have to be done via art assets as that’s incredibly labor intensive (though you can get more accurate spoke concavity, etc). Even being able to move the spokes /hub as a piece of fixed geometry within the “drum” of the rim would be enough.

Been fiending for Volk CE28N’s forever. Seems like an obvious oversight since TE37’s have been in FM for many iterations.

That AR12 guy is suppose to go through all the customization soon. He informed of a drag racing vid and mentioned the customization vid coming

Love those Volk CE28Ns, especially on a Mitsu.

A few more rims with some aggressive depth/lip and concave style would be a huge bonus.

I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed for these two more than any other (although I realize it’s probably not gonna happen):

That’s what I run on my 2004 Evo RS (IRL).

Tuning I believe is going to stay the same, at least that’s what I’ve gathered. I haven’t seen anything or heard anything to suggest otherwise. There’s going to be a lot more rims I believe with Turn 10 focusing more on “motorsport” style rims, so I’m guessing were going to be getting more ultra light rims like the Buddyclub, Enkei and Dymag rims. We’re also getting more customisation such as new widebody kits and perhaps tire lettering? The last one I don’t think has been confirmed but it was in FH3 and it’s on the Forza Edition cars in FM7 so I’m guessing so?!?

AR12 just posted another drift build video and it showed a little more of the rim selection, most of the HRE, FIfteen52 and ADV.1 rims seem to still be there with a handful of new ones (the previously mentioned Speedlines and an Enkei mesh style)

The big takeaway from this one is it shows the tuning menu pretty clearly and it looks exactly the same as F6 an FH3, so that’s probably a ‘No’ as far as track width/offset adjustments having been added.

Disappointing.

AR12 came through and posted a glance at everything on offer, so I took the liberty of making a quick list of (I think*) all the new additions. The overall selection seems basically the same as Horizon 3, but now with the following:

• BBS E55
• BBS RS Turbofans (Looks to be the Concave version (!) pic below)
• Hallibrand Indy (Very similar to the stock GT40 rims)
• OZ F1 (pic below)
• OZ F1 Deep] (pic below)
• Speedline 859
• Speedline F1
• WELD Alumastar Beadlock (pic below - How mean do these things look???)

Personally, I love ALL of these and am stoked to see they stayed true to the promise of more Motorsport rims.

*I’m pretty sure there’s a few others I missed because they look quite similar to rims already included but just wanted to throw this up for anyone who’s been curious about them.

**I’m only posting shots of the ones where I’m pretty sure of the photo, because the preview images in his video look a bit weird and not exactly the same as the Google results:

So… still no spoke wheels, eh?

.

They finally added a new style rim with the seventh work.
Yeah, they added a center lock rim, a 6 lug off-road rim, and a rim for drag with a beadlock.

They will add wire spokes at Forza Horizon 7 or Forza Motorsport 14.

The only wheel I’m interested in is the 12 Slotters on the XB GT. I want those available for all Fords, especially the XY and XA GTHO. They may look plain/boring but I like them and they look better than the Bathurst Globes that come standard.

The update has changed the offset of this wheel. It has been reduced considerably.

The best wheel in the universe. Yeah I said it. Turn 10, please add this and revert the Speedline wheel above to it’s original DEEP DISH magnificence.

Couldn’t agree with you more, I loved that super deep dish rim.
