Update 11.0 Overview - Road to Race Month | August 12 update

Ok… I just had a nice surprise. I wanted to check out Road Atlanta, and was able to download the update and start the game. I got to the third turn before I had to stop what I was doing. Road Atlanta has been updated. Turn 2 is alot tighter than FM7… but I save that for later.

After getting back home and turning the game on again, I didn’t have to wait for shaders to load. The game went straight to the start screen. SWEET!

Definitely some changes to Road Atlanta. Its a lot closer to the revised version I got the hang of on Assetto Corsa. The third turn is blind, and the start of the final turn is also blind. The back section feels shorter than I remember but I was in a slightly faster car than the BRZ I ran in AC. Its probably way off the mark if one were to compare it to real lap footage, but it doesn’t feel like the version we had since the XB360, that much is certain.

Oh and most of the GTR’s burn marks are gone. They’re still visible in the door jambs. The HSV is still charred though.

It’s a track I don’t really like much both in FM7 and when I give a try, for a couple of month, to iRacing. Guess it’s just a personal taste and I’m happy with Raod Atlanta and I hope for Monza, mt Panorama and Interlagos to be the next big three.

So how is someone who does not own the Road to Race tour to get the Vantage GTE if they cannot do the Tour with the Porsche 911 GT3 because they do not own the Race Pack? Kind of makes buying the race pack mandatory to do the event.

What do you mean? This is all good natured and not predatory business practices at all, Turn 10 should be praised for this, its game of the year right? Naw but in all seriousness this should be made into a thread and upvoted. I don’t even know where to begin with this type of move and how someone thought this one through…

Thanks Kaylos for making the thread:

Please, STOP with FOMO content

So they’ve ignored the single player side of the game up to this point. And now they basically screw over the single player side of the game. Can it get any better for the single player side? What will they do next?

This has been in other forzas, it doesnt mean theyll be in the game and it doesnt mean they wont.

How about sunset peninsula?

I’m happy too. I never got the chance to drive at it in any racing games, so it’ll be my first time.

Can someone explain why we need to do 32 races before unlocking the reward car for the featured tour now?
This used to be 16 races (excluding the Endurance Tour). The length of the races hasn’t changed, they have just doubled? If the reason is the race suits that you get with it, that just cannot be worth it, right?

If I remember the content feedback (missing for update 10?) polls from previous updates, looking at the “What did you think about the value of earning … for completing the Featured Tour?” specifically, the results on all of them are “Just Right” with either “No Opinion” or “Too Low” following them. “Too High” is last on all of them.
Is it because the poll above “What did you think about the race length for the events in the Featured Tour?” has results of “Just Right” and “Too Short” almost even? Because I think there’s a misunderstanding here, I see race length as the amount of laps, not the amount of events.

Please clarify why we need to do more events now to get the reward car?

With only 19 votes at the moment, I don’t see ExCeL being added in the next couple of years.
In a livestream a while back it was mentioned that Algarve wouldn’t be added because it didn’t have enough votes (354, ranking it 22nd in the list of most voted at the time).

Yes, I doubt about the Mercury Cougar and MG MG6, but I can assume that the Dallara DW12 and SEAT Cupra are quite possible in the upcoming updates. They didn’t exist before, there were NULL Car and just Forza, I mentioned it here, but with the new update they disappeared and these appeared, which I indicated above.

An okayish update all in all - I like Road Atlanta and the dips and camber changes look nice, so happy for that. Also, the vignette effect finally gone, night races look as good on my QD QLED screen as they are supposed to!

Disappointed that we didn’t get any major car sound improvements, but perhaps, they improved a few behind the scenes, can’t say for sure.

No crashes or lockups so far - they also mentioned that tyre and fuel calculations have been fixed so we now don’t have to sit on that screen for 45 secs or more waiting for the calculator to show the results.

So, thanks T10, please continue to improve this game each month, we’ll love you more for it!

Because COTA is the worst racetrack of all times.

These votes have no meaning, everybody should know this by now.

What about the broken TCS at low Speed?
Can anyone confirm if it is fixed or not?

I’m happy that I can hear my car again, finally. I’ve yet to drive a car that had no engine sound. And I’m hearing more road noise in the cockpit, which I enjoy.

Now the audio mix… I’m not really excited about. IMO it’s a bit muddy, or lacking in depth. My own car just seems to blend into a generic drone with other cars. It’s all there, but seems to have little sense of spatial separation, or distinction between other car’s engine notes, as they move around me on the track.

Hard to describe. I’m comparing with GT7, AC, ACC, FM7.

But it is functional now.

Same I’ve wondered about.
They don’t give a flying fark about single player, as this update has clearly shown.

See my rant below:

Added Forza GT4 Series to the series rotation in Featured Multiplayer—> WHY NOT IN SINGLEPLAYER ?
Have they fixed the NON GT3 cars in GT3 already ? Those idiotic TA USA GT Whatever cars ? Are they out yet ?
What is done with the AI ? Nothing again ?
What is done for teh single player campaign/career ? Again NOTHING.
What is done for single player in general ? N.O.T.H.I.N.G.

Just lower the engine volume of the other cars to like 85 or 80 while keeping your car volume at 100.

I’d be amazed if that was the case. I’m sure you’ll be able to use another 911
