hello, maybe I’m the only one noticing this and its pissing me off way too much:
I’m playing at “unbeatable” difficulty in the career the “Mercedes-Benz Racing Truck Spec” chanpionship, same truck for everybody, same upgrades (thanks to the championship’s restrictions), basically same tuning for me and the IA.
I’m in Road America East Route ( a rectangle track, 4 corners 2 main long straights) and the IA flies past me on each straight: before the next corner I already have a gap of something like 100-120meters.
Now I’d understand if the IA would be Lewis Hamilton good in the corners, but this is riddiculous for m: you can get good in the corners and close the gap over there but when the IA is almost as fast as you there and 30-40km/h faster in the straights it’s impossible to win, especially when the game makes you start 9th-11th.
It’s not only in this championship or particular race that I’ve noticed this, but now it way too obvious to not complain…
The last Forza I’ve played was the 4th on xbox 360, haven’t played 5 and 6 because I’ve moved to pc so maybe this thing has been going on for a while in the previous game
It’s depending on the track. Road America is awful. The AI gets insane speed boosts on the straights. The same on the Sebring curvy straight after the starting “S”. I tested it with the GT3 cars, perfectly tuned my gearbox towards the straights, decreased the downforce as much as possible and the identical AI car just flies by. On other tracks the AI isn’t able to do anything. Road Atlanta comes to mind or Indianapolis.
There are definitly problems with the balancing.
I tested this alot, it isn’t drafting or a bug, they just couldn’t balance the ai right, try racing on freeplay with all cars the same on an oval track or on the long le mans straight, look at the distance markers, they will just pull away, it’s like turn10 didn’t even care if we noticed that the harder ai difficulties were just clearly cheating.
I hope it gets fixed, because this is far more important in Motorsport than Horizon, but Unbeatable is crap either way, in FH3 it’s a demolition derby where the AI bogeys have double your weight, so I don’t even bother.
yep, I’ve noticed that FH3 has this issue as well, but I thought it was to make the races more thrilling, given the arcade nature of the game, but in here it’s just unfair, not hard.
Sadly, as others have already stated, it’s not a drafting issue, you and the AI come out of a corner side by side and they go away like you’re Alonso on the mclaren-honda .
It is noticeable on every track with a decent long straight, Mugello, Sebring, Monza…

I’ve noticed this a lot too. The whole drivatar thing is just a joke. On unbeatable difficulty I can finish every race almost half a lap ahead of 2nd place but on tracks with a lot of straights I can barely catch 3rd.
Thing ive noticed that it is not even consistent on the same track. If you restart a race sometimes you can beat them, other times you can not catch up no matter what. And it is really annoying that you see a few of them, because its always the first 5-7 AI controlled cars, that pull away in the first few corners. Thing is after about 6-7 laps you can catch up most of the time, and in a 10 lap race most of the time i can beat them, but starting 13th every race in a 2 lap it is impossible to beat unbeatable AI, unless ofcorse you somehow ram them of the track in the first corner (classic multiplayer).
The AI definitely needs a fix. It’s not just they are insane faster on some straights, they sometimes ram you following his line like if nobody was there, or they put 3 wheels on the grass and still accelerating more than you.
In many circuits they are slow as hell and your lap is 3-4s faster (no challenge), in ohters due this straights issue you are just unable to catch them.
Wow this sounds absolutely terrible. Budget racing games like Racing Evoluzione and arcade games used to do cheap tricks like this to increase difficulty. Very disappointing, Forza Motorsport was never like this. I haven’t even bought an Xbox One yet because FM5 and FM6 looked disappointing, this game certainly isn’t changing that. Apparently you can’t hotlap as long as you want either? What a joke. Maybe Turn 10 should start a new sub series called “Forza Casual Arcade Racer” and stop tarnishing the Forza Motorsport brand.
Just turn difficulty down if it’s that bad I use unbeatable and pro and have won in both difficulty settings. I find different divisions to be harder than others and Horizon 3 was way worse for rubber banding.
It’s not just that way on unbeatable or with the trucks, it’s the track. I noticed the same thing on Road America and I lowed the difficulty level-by-level and experienced the same behavior all the way down pretty much.
