Horizon 4’s livery editor doesn’t utilize many of the quality-of-life enhancements we can see in FM7, so I’ve taken to using the livery editor in FM7 then importing those design into Horizon 4. However, there is a problem - cloud sync only seems to happen once and, as a result, I’m not able to import into FH4 the new designs I’ve created in FM7. There was a solution to this for FM7 which involved renaming or deleting a specific folder in AppData/Local/Packages, but I don’t want to dive head first into finding the right folder for FH4 and accidentally corrupt anything.
I’ve made three layer groups in FM7 that took me nearly 8 hours each to make. Doing them over from scratch in a game with a slower livery editor workflow would exponentially inflate the amount of time necessary to recreate these groups. I would be extremely appreciative if someone found a way to force cloud resync within FH4.
I’ve tried deleting some folders in Packages, but nothing changed anything that I could see. This is incredibly frustrating!
Once again I urge anyone who’s willing to look into this as well. It’s possible to use an Xbox One to force a resync, but those of us without access to the console are still left in the dark if they want to import vinyl groups from previous games AFTER the first sync. There needs to be a button assignment of some sort that allows the user to force vinyl group resync. Perhaps there are some restrictions making the resync difficult or impossible to place in the game, but I’ve seen no information about this. Only one person has figured out a way to force FM7 to resync vinyl groups, but as far as I’ve tested the same cannot be done for FH4.
Also having this issue on PC, have many decals I don’t want to recreate with the slower FH4 editor. Really would be nice to force a re-sync.
For me, FH4 on PC doesnt sync my FH3 liveries at all in the first place.
It just keeps syncing and syncing, but that leads nowhere.
Regarding the issue of importing files. Design editor shows horizon 2 as an option to import from. However it will not load up any files. While I was browsing here I saw a couple mentions of the “cloud”. Is that something I need to have set up and upload fh2 files on in order to import to fh4? The only forza games I do not have are froze 5 and 6, i have all others. As another person stated it would be so much nicer if i could manage to import from my other games. I managed to get most from fh3 after removing horizon specific decals. And i was able to get forza 7 files. But can not get fh2 files
Let’s up this again. Also how long of a timeframe I should expect to wait with that sync? It’s been now 50mins with 0% progress? When I sync my Xbox to pc it takes 25 mins before I can play on pc. Should I leave this on over night or is this just permanently stuck?
