I have FH4 on both Xbox One & PC.
I now have FH5 on PC, all through game pass & the add-ons pack.
I’ve not done much in FH5 yet (the Showcase, 2 races and a barn find. I’ve redeemed my Formula Drift cars and a couple of others and that’s about it.
I only got early access because I wanted to get some day one content out there, but it refuses to sync at all.
It once managed to retreive one paint job from Forza Motorsport 7.
I have loads of content on FH4 and I need my vinyls to create more good stuff.
I’ve tried loading FH4 on console, trying again on FH5 PC, then syncing FH4 back to PC and trying FH5 again on PC but no joy.
I’ve waited at 0% before cancelling so many times now, even when waiting over ten minutes.
I’m now trying to download the game on console top attempt the sync there, but that’ll be another 5-6 hours on my connection.
My heart sank when I saw this thread …… fortunately I can confirm it’s working on the One X (nice one PG- it’s only been a YEAR!!!)
Frantically importing my liveries and vinyl groups from the last 4 Forza titles as fast as I can, LoL, should be done in an hour or two then I can relax and go exploring
Is there a way to restart the sync process in FH5?
I tried to sync my FH4 vinyls but it took to long and i decided to rather play the game, instead of looking at the loading bar which was still at 0% after 10 minutes.
Does anyone has a solution for this problem?
I’m having the same problem but I don’t even see a sync menu. Just a spinning circle in the preview box and nothing else.
I bought FH5 on steam but only had FH4 on windows store. I’m would die if I can’t transfer them over
After searching for a while I found the answer deep down at the bottom of a FAQ. Seems like we cannot transfer our own content from normal FH4 to the Steam version of FH5. Something that makes me very sad and takes a lot of motivation and excitement away. Even if I would try to refund steam after like 5 hours, I still could not buy the MS Store version with the refunded money from steam wallet. When I think about the countless hours in the paintbooth that are lost now, I really wanna cry.
Hello Forza drivers, I have a issue that not every liveries form FH 4 is imported into FH 5 and I don’t know why… i tried to update the livery in FH 4, change name of the livery, save it again, even share it, again applied on the car but most of the liveries are not imported… Whats interesting that my very very old liveries are there but the new ones not… I really don’t know why it’s happening, or maybe I have many liveries and there is no more space for more? What do you think guys?
Yeah I didn’t know this was a limitation of purchasing on steam either, seems like a significant oversight.
Edit. I am significantly understating my dissapointment. I get that I should have read the FAQ but this is tremendous missing feature between the two versions.
I would even buy fh4 on steam too, since there is a way you can import to FH4 Steam version if you have both FH4 versions available and then import these converted ones to fh5. But not for the current price on steam. I am really disappointed that this major and unusual difference between the platforms hasn’t been clarified up front.
Mine is different. So it syncs but it doesn’t display any of my tunes nor paints and when I try to leave the page it will keep me there and keep me stuck. You can hear the sounds of me hitting rb and B but it keeps me in the same page and I would have to restart my whole game again. Btw I am on the Xbox One S
