I got this issue as well
Same here. I have the same problem (3070, 7600X, 32gb ddr5 at 6000mhz). The game runs fine for a few minutes (usually 1-2 races, but sometimes less), then it goes into what I call âlimp modeâ. My FPS drops to a super unstable 40-50 (with lows into the 20s) and my DLSS option goes away and is replaced with FSR (which does nothing). My GPU utilization drops to around 80%. The only way to fix it is to restart the game. Which wouldnât be as terrible except the initial loading splash screen with the spinning circle takes several minutes every time. Like 2-4 minutes at least. Sometimes more. Then I do a race or two, go into limp mode, and either deal with it, restart, or just play something else. I sometimes just set the game to 30fps v-sync so at least itâs more stable and just do that until it starts tanking even farther into the 20s, then restartâŚ
Really, itâs pretty unacceptable. I was so hyped, but I havenât played all that much since itâs such a pain.
Thatâs true, but performance tanks after a couple races anyway, forcing a restart.
yeah, same here
Iâm getting better performance with DLSS off. It stutters a lot, but with DLSS on the cut scenes freeze on one frame, but the audio continues. Once on track, the FPS is struggling to stay at 60.
With DLSS off, the cutscenes get hung up when loading a new camera angle and assets, once on track the game is mostly at 60fps.
Bump. Any news on this? Still donât even see it added to the âknown issuesâ page and thatâs very frustrating. Game is unplayable on PC right now because of this.
this setting does nothing for fps , just leave it off and play the game
Something is happening because for the first race the game runs fantastic and then, without even going into the settings menu, when I boot up another race or even go to the menu the FPS drops so hard itâs unplayable. Itâs at that point that the âDLSSâ option changes to âFSRâ so I only assume itâs related to DLSS but I could be wrong.
It seems like this issue is related to the tuning menu. I did some testing and as long as I donât enter the tuning menu DLSS stays available. As soon as I touch the tuning menu, the DLSS/DLAA option disappears and only FSR is available. Would be nice to know if everyone else has the exact same bug.
I need to check this, after today update, DLSS still vanish ![]()
This is still happening after todayâs update!!! My DLSS disables and the option disappears randomly (usually after about 2 races) and I have to restart the game to get it to come back
Look into this please!!
this latest update gives me random crashes wich i didn`t have before ![]()
Same issue, 4070ti. Happens even more since the update.

Same issue with 4070 tiâŚ
Try removing âffx_fsr2_api_dx12_x64.dllâ and âffx_fsr2_api_x64.dllâ content folder (BACKUP these files), or just add â.bakâ to make it useless. Maybe it forces the game keeping using DLSS when it decides to not use for some reason.
Update: It didnât work. Even excluding the files, eventually DLSS stops working and AMD FSR reappears in the options.
Here comes the update, but it doesnât fix both of the issues: DLSS doesnât really work (FPS doesnât change at all whether itâs on or off) and FPS drops drastically when you go to a race after opening the tuning or paint screen.
Or rather, it is not mentioned in any official known issues, so Turn 10 may not be aware of this problem.
Thereâs also a new GeForce driverďź545.84ďź, but it didnât fix the problem.
However, when I updated to this driver, my FPS (average 70 FPS to 45 FPS) dropped drastically in my environment even though I didnât change in-game settings, so it might be a land mine.
Running on the latest nvidia driver of 545.84 on an RTX 2070 SUPER and CPU is an AMD Ryzen 9 5950x on Windows 11.
Frequently, but not always, after a race when loading into the next race I notice my FPS has dropped by 50-60%. Upon inspection of the graphics menus, any reference to DLSS is now gone and it only shows options related to AMD FSR and it is disabled.
A restart of the game brings back the DLSS options and sorts out the frame rate issue.
This issue also existed on the release version before patch 1.
If it matters, I have two displays, my primary is 4K @ 60hz with gsync and my secondary is wqhd @ 144 hz with gsync. I play FM on the secondary monitor with a 60 FPS performance target (no Vsync)
I just experienced the same issue. I thought I was losing my mind lol. After coming across your post, I realized I wasnât going crazy. Letâs hope they get it ironed out soon.
Iâm on a 3070 Ti, same issue. Hey atleast we can get 60fps unlike the 3080 boys ![]()
