Two simple things I noticed after the update.

i noticed since after the update, the Aventador SV went over a sound change, making it now identical to the Centanario. Before, it sounded awesome, and it backfired and popped and crackled a lot! Why did it change? And I also noticed while playing with the Rocket Bunny NSX, the exhaust backfires out the old exhaust exits, not the center. Just two things I saw.

The old sound it had was robotic like and not even close to the real sound. IRL, both the SV and Centenario sound the same because both have the same 6.5L V12. The sound they have now is right.

I know it’s the same base engine, all the aventador models, veneno and centenario uses the 6.5 liter v12. (Still wish they kept the old 6.5 from the murcielago haha). And I know the sound is accurate, but I loved what it was. It was different and becuase so many cars share the same sound, unfortunatly, it was nice to have some change, especially so radical.

I saw a Youtube video with the Veneno and theyve simply reused that sound as well, im pretty sure IRL it wouldnt sound the same. FH2 had a nice sound to many of the cars.

“im pretty sure IRL it wouldnt sound the same”

But how would you know?

Since we are going off of assumptions: If they use the same engine, it’s reasonable enough that they share the same pitch…

There are various Veneno videos on youtube where you can hear it. Same engine doesnt necessarily mean same sound. There are many cars which use other vehicle engines. As someone has stated they use different exhausts so would not sound as they do ingame. Look at the Veneno from the Xbox 360’s version of FH2 and it sounds pretty similar, when you added exhausts in Fm4 you could hear a difference, they could have done that this time round.

Not necessarily the case. They can tune the exhaust to sound pretty much how they like within limits. You can’t make a 4 banger sound like a V8, etc.

One of the reasons why so many muscle car owners make the first expenditure after buying the car a new exhaust system.

you obviously havent heard a yamaha r1 crossplane its a 4banger 1000cc sounds as close to a v8 as one can get i think

My point was that we can assume anything and still not be right. I don’t think the Forza team actually could drive these cars how they are “meant to” and be able to analyze the sound at the same time. In the same breath, using Youtube videos for analysis of sound is pretty shoddy as an audio recording is never completely accurate.

Comparing the sound of a car driving by VS how you hear a sound where the source is the same distance in front of you (camera behind the car) in a video game can sound completely different.

Different exhausts… I know the aventador and veneno definitely dont sound alike in real life, close but not the same.

Can someone explain to me how a car that sounds great in the first place gets a sound change while they still can’t sort out most of the V6’s and V8’s which sound generic?
Priorities?..

The exhaust thing with the NSX that the OP mentioned happens on every car which has mods that move the position of the exhausts. Really annoying!

Just look at the DB9, V12 Vantage GT3, DBR9, DBRS9 and Lola Aston Martin LMP1 (the Gulf one) the all sound different despite the same base engine.

The Lambo would take priority over others, same with the Ford DP and Mustang GT350 changes in FM6 due to partnership.

same goes for all cars exhuast and header size play a big role in the sound. ever herd a sti with equal length headers sound nothing like a sti with unequal length. that boxer rumble comes from the unequal lenght not from the engine.

I’ve also heard a Corolla that sounded like a boxer. It also wouldn’t go over 10mph, but a clogged catalytic convertor can do that…

To he honest, I never paid much attention to the sounds of many cars. As long as the American V8’s still sound muscle-ey, I’m happy.

I just got the VIP and boy was I in for a rude awakening. Now I have three Lambos in my garage that sound exactly the same. Should I even bother racking up 4.5 mill to get the Veneno?

The Centenario, Aventador and Aven. SV do share the same engine but all have retuned exhaust sounds to make them stand apart. Why would a Lambo owner IRL have any reason to buy a newer or different model if they all sound the same?

No two cars sound the same in Horizon 2 or FM6. Why are there copy/paste sounds in this game then? I really wish the original Aventador SV sound would return. It was distinct and sounded just about right according to YT vids I’ve seen and car reviews. The exhaust sounds are distinct IRL. It just saddens me and kills my motivation to play the game or purchase DLC when I see developers taking shortcuts like these.

Was this sound change documented in release notes? Why did they even change it in the first place and not correct the other sound issues? I.e. Supra, M4, R34 Skyline, Silvia etc.

Because people base their car purchases entirely on sound.

^^ Lol… it is though a governing factor for some. Why would I pay extra for a newer version if it’s audio character and soul is exactly the same? Would make more sense to just up the HP and make the currently owned version more grippy.

Thank goodness I saw a YT vid of somebody driving the Veneno… Ladies and Gents, yet another car that uses a copy/paste of both the Aventadors/Centenario sound sample.

Thanks to that video, I’ll be cutting my grind for the 4 mill credits short.
