Hello Forza Community!
Back on Forza Motorsport 5, I discovered a “Paint Trick” which allowed the player to change the colour of materials that don’t allow you to tint.
I actually made a video tutorial to prove it: Video Tutorial
I checked on Forza Horizon 2 once it was released, and sadly it doesn’t work for that game.
Although, this “trick” does work on Forza Motorsport 6, which is what I’m going to show you how to do today.
Here’s an example:
This is on the Caparo T1.
I’ve painted the body in purple-ish white matte carbon kevlar, and the rims are turquoise diamond plate.
So, now you’re wondering, how do you do such a thing without photoshop?
Well, here are the steps:
1. - Pick the vehicle you wish to use
2. - Go to the “Customize” Tab and select “Paint Car”
3. - Select the “Paint” option
4. - Select the part of the car you wish to paint (Body, Hood, Mirrors, Wing or Rims)
5. - Go to the “Special Colors” tab
6. - Select one of the following:
- Carbon Fiber Matte
- Carbon Kevlar Polished
- Carbon Kevlar Matte
- Steel Polished
- Steel Semigloss
- Steel Brushed
- Steel Galvanized
- Steel Damascus
- Brass Polished
- Brass Semigloss
- Brass Brushed
- Copper Polished
- Copper Semigloss
- Copper Brushed
- Gold
- Diamond Plate
7. - Select that part of the car again (Body, Hood, Mirrors, Wing or Rims)
8. - Go to the “Previous Colors” tab and move 1 (one) over to the right
9. - The option “Color Fine Tune” should show up for the “X” button, select it
10 - “Fine Tune” to the desired colour
11. - Press “A” twice to fully select the colour
Congrats! You now have tinted or fine tuned the colour of a material that otherwise wouldn’t have been able to!
Your more than welcome to “show off” your creations here using this “trick”
Have Fun!
