Well, Polyphony did steal Forza’s great sound design. Quite literally if I remember correctly, because I think whoever did the sound design for Forza games pre-2015 now works for Polyphony.
The same reasoning applies to GT7.
What I meant was that Forza Motorsport’s problem today is definitely not the absence of content.
This seems to make the most sense.
Furthermore devs dont have to care about cars and racing in order to make a good racing video game, they just need to be good at programming/art/ game design.
harrison Ford dont know jack about Star Wars, but that doesn’t mean hes incapable of portraying han solo in a movie.

Even if that was true, we got neither.
He had a good director/writer/producer who knew the material very well.
I dont think they focused very well as theres many things that are either half hearted or missing but it was their focus none the less.
Unfortunately we’ll never really know if these things were left out because they didnt feel they fit, or if they left them out purposely to release at a later date to fill out the gaas model or if they just ran out of time. Any of these scenarios could be true.
This isnt true, the best racing games have always come from people who actually like cars and play racing games. The Harrison Ford analogy doesnt work here.
Im not saying they shouldnt have these things, i just think they felt it was ok to not include them because their sister game has those things already.
Motorsport is missing official game modes that support drag and drift, but these things can technically be done in the game right now. You can make a lobby with friends and drift all youd like. You can also make a lobby and drag race on lemans if you choose to.
Its possible they are going to make more fleshed out drift and drag modes than past games. Or they might not add them at all who knows. But i think they will have a drift month and a drag month at some point.
The real problem is that Harrison Ford does not own a Ford car.
Why wonder who made the game and wish to meet them all…
Such an interesting statement to make from someone who hasn’t bought the game and plays on x box one via game pass ultimate cloud streaming ![]()
Even way more than 150 ! ![]()
…
I can agree the creative directors should care, but when it comes to the majority of employees, i don’t think it really matters. It is though just my opinion.
Don’t forget the people that made the force awakens and the rise of skywalksr, weren’t exactly the best creatives for the job.
T10 published the game on x-cloud. Are you saying that X-cloud customers are in some way less important or equal to traditional disk or digital download customers?
Guess the direction the industry is going will soon mean that most customers won’t meet your criteria for having an opinion
Imagine being proud of paying the full price for the disappointment of a game. Double L if you bought Series X specifically for FM.
When you alienate the casual players, the car enthusiasts, the collectors, the FORZA veterans, the Xbox fans and strip the game of all its character, modes, beauty, photorealism and features to strictly resemble a racing simulator, - remove all the things that made FORZA unique and do not carry over the innovations and the content from FH5 - and break your promise of “built from the ground up” “unparalleled visual fidelity” and “the most advanced racing game ever” - and force the game to be always ONLINE — you get this atrocious, bland mess. (Music, Menus, Visual Quality & Fidelity, Vehicle Audio, Presentation, Missing Motorsport disciplines like Drift, Drag, Rally, & Offroad, new vehicle content and variety, extremely recycled “new content”, slow drip-feed and so on)
FORZA had always showcased the best of Xbox’s power and capabilities. And FH5 was the last best representation of this case. To this day, the awe-inspiring environment details, the sharpness and the fidelity of both the open world and vehicles, the car sounds, the vehicle content, and features like rear wheel steering, wheel spacers show how much the “new” FM fell off.
The game failed to meet players’ expectations and failed to showcase the best of Series X, the promise on which this game was sold - let alone meet its own photorealistic standards and is devoid of any character.
Many Xbox and FORZA fans bought Series X on this promise - and they failed BIG TIME.
FORZA was one or two steps behind Gran Turismo in visual quality.
Not anymore and I’m glad to see competition heating up in race games as you can really tell how lackluster this game has been.
One of things I always did in FORZA was take lifelike photos of cars, observe the cars and their details and appreciate their beauty. In this game - the cars STILL look extremely poorly rendered, executed and detailed. Photo mode is somehow worse than the game! It shocks and hurts me to describe how the cars look in FM 2023.
6 years in the making, more than half a decade - 10 updates since launch and “built from the ground up”!
As a veteran FORZA fan, I am confident GT7 and the upcoming Assetto Corsa EVO will eventually eat this game alive - if nothing is done very soon to correct all this. Maybe this abomination is destined to fail.
FORZA was the only game I have always pre-ordered and this was my last one. Lesson learnt and no more pre-orders even if its FORZA.
Not gonna lie, the first time I saw this I thought “dang, they even have better bugs”.
No not at all, I didn’t purchase the game either (though I did purchase the add ons) What I’m saying is the poster I replied to stated he’s a fan of driving, cars etc, yet he choose by far the least cost effective way of playing the game. I mean who purchases games pass ultimate to play forza?
Original quote
For me, it’s not about playing a video game. It’s about the passion for cars and racing. And forza fell off the blocks.
He’s also stated on numerous occasion that’s he’s cancelling his game pass sub because of how bad the game is. Fair do’s his propagative but do the math.
Didn’t buy it mate, I sub to game pass, if I was only interested in driving and car culture etc, this must be the least cost effective way to play the game imaginable. That was my point . Game pass offers unrivalled value for money, FM offers unrivalled waster of money. C’mon it wasn’t meant be nuanced
Not a fan of FH5 at all. I really liked the first 3, 4 was a step up in graphics. 5 I think is way too fussy and complicated. Like how does a new comer approach this game? Getting in to play and progress is the most complicated I’ve seen a game present. For all its terminal faults,I love the simplicity of this FM and previous games
PGG are clearly the better the devs though and I wish they were in charge of Fm.
