Turn10 Lost all passion for cars

Big fan of Forza since 2nd…

This motorsport takes me from disappointment to disappointment. 10 months since the game and release, and I no longer understand where they want to go.

When I see the more interesting horizon updates (cars and others), the gran turismo updates (6 new cars per month)… What does turn10 do?

I have the bitter feeling we have about the end of forza (motorsport)… Microsoft bring back forza 4 please

GT7 has 517 cars.
FM has 597 cars.

By adding 6 cars every month, GT7 needs 13 months to reach FM actual cars.

The number of cars is the last of the problems. Whether we talk about the type or classes is another matter.

The number of cars is nothing. The passion for those cars, and what’s done with the cars. The building and tuning, the painting, and the tracks. And in all area forza is falling short.

They’ve not just lost the passion for the cars, but They’ve lost the passion for the game, more so for the sport of racing in general.

Quality over quantity, can easily remove over 150 cars from this list that virtually nobody cares about.

Could probably double that number and 80% of the people playing the game right now wouldn’t even know which cars they were.

But then again, I wonder, of the people left playing the game, what percentage of those actual have a passion for cars and racing? And how many are just playing a video game?

For me, it’s not about playing a video game. It’s about the passion for cars and racing. And forza fell off the blocks.

A lot of peoples like race, but be forced to just race getting boring, peoples who like “real race track expérience” are for sure the second biggest part of the community of players you can find on a car game, (1st one is simply peoples who like driving without any goal) but it still a part of that whole community, following by drifters and some little one like drag, touge/rally.

So peoples who have a passion for racing isn’t the first audiency of FM

I don’t get the point for a game like FM who was never intended for a strictly real racing experience to try to follow that path.
They lost an amount of their community, i don’t think peoples who are interested about only racing can recovered it even if we imagine the game to be on a great condition

It’s not only about a lack of passion for cars, or racing, the game itself is lacking of his video game aspect, of his own identity.

It’s like if tomorrow fortnite start a new season and remove the battle royale, and the building, for be a fps game like cod or battlefield.

They made a niche game, and even worst they made it poorly

At no time did I talk about the basic car content…

I talk about the follow-up of the games, and no one can say that forforza (8) the 10 updates received were good.

Just look at the number of bugs, artifacts, body parts that don’t appear, meter without needle… in the base cars.

We are still waiting for the drift update after 10 months. Turn10 leaves the feeling of just artificially keeping the game alive.

There was a time when Forza was the master standard on console, since the 5th the games have only declined. Circuit removed, modeling of cars dating from Forza 5, I play the melodies of certain v8, v6, v5 copied and pasted from one engine to another.

In short, I still enjoy turning in the green hell (absurd that it is not in the base game), but clearly I am more and more interested in the competition, because of turn10.

Sorry for my poor english. French player.

It feels like drifting has been deemed too “unserious” for FM23 and thus not worth supporting at all… Outside of drift suspension

Same goes for drag, autocross (which never really took off), track days/open space, the really goofy modes like tag, king, virus, etc. Which is honestly a shame since there isn’t much to do driving wise in FM23 outside of racing or just “driving”. FM7 even had some extra free play toggles that made things like racing the wrong way around a track possible which aren’t in FM23 for some reason??

In terms of the cars added post-launch for FM23, eehhhhh. Lots of returning cars, barely any unique new road cars. FH5 is throwing down some show-stopping car packs while FM23 is still gathering scraps from previous titles, you’d imagine how I feel about that

I’ve been watching Super GTs video on the Gran Turismo 1.49 update. Polyphony is shamelessly stealing FM23s car under steering.

Is nothing safe anymore…

What exactly do you mean? That the cars won’t turn fully with controller unless you are in a specific gear?

Motorsports new found focus on racing is due to Horizon existing. So while I dont think focusing on racing is bad, i dont think it was neccessary to remove drift points and a one mile long straight track to drag race on. Its nonsensical tbh.

Fh5 had quite the steady flow of rehashed cars before they started adding new ones. Fh5 is also in a totally different situation, its successful, Motorsport as far as i can tell is not. In the past 30 days on steam fh5 had an average of over 13k players, motorsport had a little over 600. Thats a little over 4.5% of horizon players.l

Yeah, i mean, focusing more in racing isn’t the wrong way.
But if it’s at the cost of features who had their place on the game, it doesn’t make sense.

Even if I doesn’t like racing cars, have removed silly cars/suv’s from the game make sense, it allow more space for more racing cars for those who like them.

But drift , track day, old fantasy tracks who are top voted (they build eagle rock, who care about it ?) it doesn’t make sense to take a new path if it’s at the cost of those type of things

Did FM “focus on racing,” or did it just cut out everything else without making the racing great to compensate?

Serving a stale & undercooked burger patty without buns & condiments doesn’t mean they “focused on the beef.”

It’s true, the same thing is happening to me, day by day it’s harder for me to play FM, the lack of cars in the racing categories and their lack of balance make it stressful to try to be competitive, maybe the best players cheat, or maybe it’s just that they know too much about tuning, the point is that when I pay for a game I want to have fun but it’s frustrating not being able to do anything, at least I drive with an Xbox controller and having a car that I enjoy racing with makes me slow , then I have to tune to the point of making it almost unmanageable to have halfway decent times but being so unstable it turns out to be an unpleasant and stressful race.

This one too doesn’t really make sense :pensive:

The main asset of horizon is to be an open world, but an open world also mean, to be limited on that open world, and the map of horizon is little and some section can be very uninteresting (as someone who was on a drift/touge crew before the rally update we was running 90% of the time at volcano because it was the only place worth for do what we wanted to)

The physics of FM is more advanced too so the driving expérience is different, and because it isn’t an open world, it can give more interesting, well worked, place where to race.

Horizon regroup rally, offroad, street race, drag arcade mode, everything.

It’s understandable to don’t have offroad and arcade mode on FM.

But for rally, they can make 1/2 tracks or sprint on tarmac,
For drift/street race peoples still waiting on Fujimi for years
And a place for drag

Just that can represent 5 tracks on an amount of ~25, and it can bring peoples who aren’t interested at first about racing on the game, that’s mostly what was FM, when it was great, an attractive game.

Turn 10 has lust their passion for making good games. Give FM to Playground. Everything looks better in Horizon. Or at least get the passionate people from both studios and make that T10. So you have people that can work on the physics .And get rid of the gd contractors who don’t care about what they are working on

I suspect it’s more that they ran out of time to deliver something and had to cut out a lot of the extras previous games had that would still have their place in this new game.
