Turn 10, Why launch a game that is far from ready !

I have been an avid Forza fan from day one, but this edition is really taking the piss of your loyal fans, me being one.

So many bugs, so many elements missing, no community spirit because of the limitations. From day one of the pre- launch, I have tried to simply share files from Forza 6, ‘simple you would have thought’ no it just hangs and then says try later!, long races crashing, so you have to start again and again! 5 multplayer lobbys are you having a laugh! Rival lobby’s a total joke again! Auction house-to come, Leagues to Come ! VIP rivals one track ! do I need to go on.
For sure weather effects great, graphics of cars great, graphics of background not as good as early forza editions.

If anyone has played the Gran Tourism Sport demo, then you will see how much turn 10 are now of the mark!

Sorry to say and I never thought I would say this about Forza, but i feel that avid fans are being ripped off this time round, promised so much but little arrives.

Now eagerly waiting for the launch of Gran Tourismo and going back to playing project cars.

Sadly, this is so true… and actually has me considering a refund because the fun has almost totally been taken out of the game with so many issues. Being a painter 1st it just kills me to look at all the jagged edges on creations which I and others have done that used to look awesome… now appear, meh…looks OK i guess??? I must assume the previous version of the anti-aliasing feature took too much CPU resources and had to be cut back for the rain and lighting effects. Kinda like the 2-d trees, reduced detail everywhere you look, and those are just the obvious changes.

Now I got a question… who out there thinks that “COMING SOON” will go to “COMING MUCH LATER” ??? I mean seriously… they had the core programs built already (auction house, ect.) and at least a 2 year start. Am I supposed to honestly believe it’s a problem with software integration now… OR is it a CPU resource issue? All indications thus far indicate the later, so I’m really not too optimistic about these features coming on line anytime soon. Considering how we’ve been treated like mushrooms thus far, you know - lack of substantive information prior to and now following our purchase. I;m sorry, “we’re aware of the problem and are looking into it” doesn’t work for me. What are you hiding guys? You catch more flies with honey, ya know???

edit: seems like the rain program is running in the backgound constantly since the load times aren’t differen’t on track with or without rain… or am I wrong? Long load times are probably the result of the dynamic lighting… you add bringing that rain subroutine up and that would have to cause longer load times, and I’m not seeing that. It seems fixable, but you can imagine how long it could take for the track to load. Trying to balance that is probably what they are working on so they can actually run all that “coming soon” stuff.

In the end - The more I see, the more I’m convinced that this has always been about selling the new xBox, not about putting out a quality game., not about listening to the community, not about anything else then lining there pockets with $$$ once people realize that you will have to have the XOX to play the game with all it’s functionality intact. So the question is now, whether I’m going to prove them right or wrong. Will I upgrade to the XOX so my quite considerable time investment in the game over the last year wasn’t for nothing - give them even more $ in hopes things get better? Or see this for what it is, corporate greed & the beginning of the end… the master plan of Microsoft? I don’t know - seems plausible given the chain of events that have unfolded thus far.

I do know one thing 100% - and at this juncture I have a decision to make. If I’m gone next week, you’ll know why. If I’m still here - then I’m willing to throw away money on a hope (the refund period can’t be indefinite - so I gotta act soon. Heck, it might be too late already)… it is what it is.

Best of luck to the others out there in a similar situation. It’s a tuffie, and I don’t want to go, but I might just have to.

Well, my guess is that it will all be “unlocked” when they release the Xbox One X version of FM7.
But if the X version will have any of the bugs/glitches like we have today, then it’s gonna be even more bad publicity for MS and Turn 10.
The lightning needs major fixing also, c’mon, every car has it’s headlights on and nothing is illuminated on the road or around you, nothing!
Drive through the tunnel in Rio, a real deathtrap… dusk at Rio, all have the their headlights on… no lights whatsoever in the tunnel.
Look at project Cars 2, the lightning is great when driving in dusk/evening/night conditions, surely Turn 10 can do this also with FM7!

I doubt very much that the Xbox One X version will have the same issue’s, think It’s being optimized to the limit, now they know all these bugs/glitches.
Cause it’s their only choice, it’s has to be “crash” free when it releases or all hell is gonna break out, and not only on forums, but over at MS as well.

I’m fairly certain I mentioned somewhere else in the forum that FM7 seems like a sideshow to sell the Xbox One X more than anything else. All your heard during during and after the E3 reveal was 4K, 60 fps, HDR etc. Even Gamescon saw the same mantra being repeated over and over. No mention about gameplay or how the game has generally progressed in the last 2 years.

Cars, cars, cars… drive 700+ out of the box. See how badly the sounds have been gimped. MS should stop doing this to their customers. Forza used to be RICH in quality while still providing a fair amount of content up front. Are those days returning I wonder?

It’s hard to argue against this in fact.

The signs are there in the features that are missing and there are plenty.

The moment it really hit me was watching a replay of a race on Maple Valley.

The trees being 2D.

There being only one trackside replay camera.

I can’t recall another Forza Motorsport track that reminded me of an Assetto Corsa mod track in the past, but Maple Valley definitely felt like a modders incomplete work.

The bugs and instability is epic. Console and PC I have problems.

There are systems layered on systems and not enough thought or testing is apparent else the obvious FE car 30 second race method would never have existed in the first place.

This game wasn’t in a good state for release.

Im agree.

4 new circuit is not enough.
Dynamic weather is great
dynamic time of day is also cool but nof FULL cuz pre-backed shadows of the Forza Engine …

There is no real new feature : No qualify ala Project CARS 2 , no real time animated pit stop ala GTS , No control of the FOV ( field of view ) …

Still many options missing ( add IA on private single race ) , multiplayer etc …Time attack leaderboard is not clear … Well , the game is already launch but not finished …

Too much 4K and HDR stuff … let see if on Xbox One X they add some lightings effect and environmental shaders cuz it really need. Just look at GTS

Was looking for another thread and saw this and just had to agree i think that what they did is completely unacceptable. The game was no where near ready to be released I played forza since FM3 and when i play im hooked playing days after days. With this forza ive played about 2 days since it came out for only a few hours. The online is horrible the lobbies available are extremely limited and forces you to play in a way which is not fun at all IMO. Forza was the game that had all the features, thats why it was so god damn good. But this? its a half finished version of all the other games and its missing everything that is great. If they would implement user created open online lobbies like forza 4 people would go absolute bonkers but unfortunately i doubt that will happen. Ultimately the game is at no state to be released and this makes it almost a norm in the gaming community to hit a certain date and release even if the game is surely not ready. Its really not cool and just shows how companies really dont care they just want a check. this game is not ready. For a certain time i could say forza motorsport was the best racing game hands down it is soley the reason why i bought my xbox even though all my friends had ps4. But yeah this game has just turned into greed. What a great game ran to turd IMHO

I don’t mind getting an unfinished game early but the lack of communication about that and no proper timeline for features being added is the problem. Very few people read week in review but they did say there that features would be added slowly. Not enough Turn 10. Hopefully tmw will bring good news. All they did was hurt their own reputation and alienate the Forza faithful. A little honesty and people would have accepted this easily.

I have been a loyal fan of Forza Motorsport since the first game, I don’t see any issues with FM7 as i have been playing it since the 29th September.

You’re fortunate. Many of us are not so lucky.

Why not? Make some cash yo.

The game released before the Xbox One X and is not a good idea IMO
I think is should be launch with the X and he would get even better reviews cuz :

1: little more times to finish
2: Most of reviews would have been on Xbox One X console with better visual

It’s OK if Turn10 take 2 years and half for release the next FM but with more new features and tracks.

The game people knew that FM7 would sell like hotcakes. They also know that we have to pay for & start playing the game to realize just how flawed it is. Along comes the new console with the remastered (i.e. finished) game, then the money flows in once more. Horizon 2 anyone?..

I saw this coming months in advance, Turn 10 was dodging questions left and right. No real information leading up to launch, I’m a loyal fan but after FM 7 I’m fed up. I can’t even have a post without T10 erasing it the second i post it. They are destroying any connection/spirt with its community, and as the BUYERS we have the right to voice concerns. Shut us out and the franchise is doomed to fail. All you have do is look at the reviews on the Xbox store and online to know it’s the BUYERS who are tearing the game apart. For good reason! great reviews won’t save this game. I mean loot boxes? What were they thinking?!

Xbox one x, money

I would actually like a refund. Where do I apply for one. The game is unplayable. I have extremely fast internet, and the game whenever I’m multiplayer cuts all communication with any players I can see the mics moving but no voices. Little bar in the top right corner says low band width. And don’t have any sound from the cars except tire screeching. And on top of that crashes the second I cross the finish line. I’m playing this on xb1. I paid 100 dollars plus tax and I want a refund for the game Turn 10 make it happen. My email is Tcancel@hotmail.com.
Thank you,
Tyler

This is the fault of Microsoft, the publishers, not T10.

This happens with almost every game on the market. Most games these days launch as buggy messes, some like Horizon Zero Dawn have a pretty solid launch, but others don’t get such a great launch. Publishers rush things out of the gate and fix it later because it costs them too much money to delay games.

I feel certain Gran Turismo won’t be as awesome as everyone thinks it will. The hype train happens with every single game, people get so pumped and expect way too much, then when it falls short, which bit will, people feel disappointed. I’ll be getting GT, but I don’t really expect them to have fixed most of the issues with the game.

Forza is a fun game, but there are so many bugs that I’ve ran into, mostly the game not booting and shutting my xbox off when it tries to boot, and no matter how many ‘fixes’ I use, it still happens.

As a first party studio, there is frankly not much difference.

Do you know what email address to write to if you have feedback or a technical problem?

It’s not forzafb@turn10.com

It’s forzafb@microsoft.com

So really T10 and MS are somewhat interchangeable when discussing Forza.

THIS, from long time ago T10 became the MS showcase, and that implies to launch new (unfinished) games with new consoles, and releases every two years.

They never should launch FM5 with that lack of content and this FM7 with unfinished features.

I guess if T10 has enough time to release a proper FM, will be the best racing game. But that doesn’t make the profit it makes a continuous Forza’s (FM and FH) launches every year.

I just hope with the release of the X, all these features would come to us…
