no public drift lobbys or drift leaderboards. why turn 10. i hope every drifter gets a refund maybe then they will do something

Couldnt agree more, as the years go on i continue to have the false hope that one day we may even get a section dedicated to drifters. Not from forza it would seem

Drifting = going slow. Forza is a racing game. The fastest way around a track is to never lose grip and drift.

It’s still a Motorsport. Literally FiA has ran a full fledged drifting competition recently if I remember correctly and it’s arguably the fastest growing Motorsport out there. Turn10 has literally been in contact with a current drift series called ESDA which has accrued several real life sponsors and they even showcased the event at the New York Forza Racing Championship event this past year.

exactly, plus in real life motorsport there is famous competitions from years … like D1GP, FORMULA-D , King of europe etc etc
bytheway i can live without pubblic drift lobbies, i prefer having in free play drifting the leaderboard per track in drifting , there is no need of homologation in that, just take the car you like setted as you like and try to make the top point drifting , easy ( like it was in forza4 ), and we will be very happy , on multiplayer i’ve always prefered private drifting lobbies

Actually tractor pulls are a form of Motorsports, as are lawnmower racing and drone racing to name just a couple. Tractor pulling and drifting are both non racing motorsport events.
Not a racing game a collecting game.
Open loot boxes, wear your silly suit with pride, ram and be rammed to front from last against the most pathetic ai ever created. Thats not racing.
Drifting on mario is more motorsport than this sorry effort.

Perhaps now that Johniwanna [T10 Community Team] started with his drifting “lessons”, he will guide T10 towards drifting ways.
There are so many problems with adding drift anything to the game. First of all, how would you judge/score drift races? You would need a separate system. Probably something like in FH3 and how do you keep it fair and balanced with the “normal” racing?
Second is how the game works now. If they made drift lobbies drifters would be left in the dust never finishing races constantly getting DNF’s. The reason being is the lobbies would be abused by normal racers for easy wins. Let’s be honest, drifting is slower around the tracks. Not one track is suitable for drifting against the normal racers. They would be so far behind none of them would ever finish a race.
Third is would a big AAA game maker like Turn 10 even want to cater to the drift crowd. Let’s be honest once again. Drifting has gotten a crowd over the years but in truth drifting in general has hit a wall and hasn’t been really growing all that much the past few years. It’s stalling out already. In other words for a relatively new sport, interest is dying. For a company like Turn 10, I would seriously doubt they would want to take the time, effort or money for a sport that truthfully isn’t as large as you think it is. You have to remind yourself they are a AAA company so I would have to think they are not going to waist their time for something that would bag them little in return.
All that said however there is one way I can think of they could introduce drifting into Forza. Custom built tracks with mostly sharp corners that drifting would be faster to get around. That way the normal racers wouldn’t leave the drift crowd behind and they would actually be able to finish races without getting constantly hammered with DNFs. They also wouldn’t have to then revise the scoring system either or anything else.

First off they already have a system for drifting scores in place. you just have to turn on the drift HUD. Personally all I want is a multiplayer lobby that just says drift and its set up for drift races already. its not that hard they have done it time and time again in all the FM games. All you need is a vote to kick system or even do what FM6 ( im not a huge fan of this system) and make the races timed. then the drifters will no longer get harassed by “normal” people.
All I am how ever saddened by the fact that there is no way to drift with people who enjoy drifting as much as i do in this game as of yet. I would be ok if Turn 10 came out and said on ______ we will put it in or we will never be putting it in at all. (plz dear god not the second one) but i just want some information at this point. why not come out and say what is going on?
Yes it is a relatively new sport. Though it’s been around since the invention of the wheel it’s only come to be called a sport with official sanctioned races within the past decade. Compared to any other motorsport it is indeed relatively new.
BTW, it’s Tokyo.
in italian is TOKIO , bytheway there are drift races from the 70s … know the facts

YES!! Drift is a “new wave”…XDDDD.
And the Formula E?? I can´t believe reas so much IGNORANCE about motorsports culture. Drift is one o a kind that T-10 uses to point how much time players are playing the game before 1 or 2 years after the game was released…and this is said and done not so much time ago; yes this is true.
But, really…is wasted words, drift is sooooo ridiculous thing in FM6 and FM7 that deserve a topic…and i will do it soon to explain what is the point and what is the idea around T10 “minds”…because is not only the pointless and silly thing i see in the game, i soooooo stupid that racing lost´s its own significate, is a " let´s include that…whatever the way" and make the most stupid and nonsense method to make users feel that they are much stupids than…well.
Actually Drift in free play is the most absurd and humoristic thing i´ve seen in all videogames in my hole life, wich is near to 50 years; race against anybody, even against yourself, no leaderboards of points, no save points for any track/car( even for yourself)… Is the most pointless thing i´ve seen in a videogame witch claims to be a race competition…is so ridiculous thar make me think that i´m mad or simply joke.

drifting has been in forza since forza motorsports 2 so why did they take it out ? because forza hates drifters do you even know what hoonigan is all about lol they tune and build drift cars!
