I’ve already asked this question once in someone elses thread but got no response so here goes again. i can’t play multiplayer on forza. i can do rivals, i get messages, i can even get as far as joining a race but then it tells me i am unable to join. Same thing when i try to start a private race… my NAT settings are open and just to be sure i went through and reset everything…modem,console,etc. Now heres the frustrating part, forza is the only game im having trouble joining multiplayer. i bought the xbone pretty much to play forza and ive got a couple of cars i’d like to race online and cant. This console came with the new halo and i had no trouble joining a lobby. so, is it a forza/turn 10 issue or xbox live. Well, i dont know but if anyone knows what, who, when and where i can get this straightened out i’d appreciate you pointing me in the right direction. oh, and by the way…no, im not banned. at least i dont think. i didnt get a message from turn 10 and to be honest…i’m not an idiot. i like playing this game too much to risk getting banned.
wow. no one…really. well ive been playing forza since FM2. and i may have asked for help in this forum maybe 4 times. i figured if nobody else, a mod might have an answwer

no ipsec settings on my router either. i actually have the same exact router that he had in that thread. so heres my next problem. i didnt see where he came back into the forums announcing he had fixed it and what he did too it to make it work. ill go buy another router right now if that’ll fix it. hell man, im $500 in to a new console i really didnt need and two games i could have lived without. it just aggravates me that its just forza. i didnt have this much trouble out of the 360 and FM4. occasionally i would have to reset the router. i was really hoping my problems would be gone with the new system. i dont know. if anyone can think of something else i’d appreciate it… i hope im not coming off as an a** . i just want my stuff to work
He did announce he fixed it in that thread “I called belkin support and it turns out the dns was changed from what is shoudlve been. Now I can enjoy Forza again!”
oh. well cool then. i guess thats my next move because ive tried everything that xbox live said to do, everything i could find on here. thank you trashman. maybe ill see you out on a track. im the guy way at the back usually. i never claimed to be a great racer. but i race clean and fair
well. i just called belkin and we basically re set up the whole router. but, not before they made me pay $29.99 for an extended warranty. yes you are reading that right. they just charged me for tech support. and sadly that isnt the worst part. i still can get in a race. eh, im about over it. so moral of the story here is this. if you ever need to buy a new router by a d-link, netgear, whatever just dont buy a belkin. unless your cool with paying $30 for some tech support that dont work.

I threatened my xbone by taping an EMP grenade to the power supply. It works flawlessly now.

Have u contacted ur internet provider to see if they have an updated modem with built in wifi so u can get rid of the router u currently are using. I just got one a few months back and i have had no issues being able to find races.
Also check out this link. This video may not help u out but maybe this guy will have a video for u to watch that might fix ur solution
@ the first person to respond: sorry i dont see your GT. yes, i can do everything but run a race. i can upload to the storefront or whatever we are calling it in FM5. i can challenge rivals, ghosts and all. i can get into the lobbys, pick a class i want to run in, it will search out a match, find a match, ask me if i want to join and then tell me i cant?? sort of like dangling a carrot in front of a donkey to get it to move. sad thing is, its not letting me have my carrot. i dont know, ill go buy a new router tomorrow, if that dont work get a tech out here to look at it. just keep throwing money at it until i get it fixed.
@ERS Johnson: with my ISP i dont actually have a router. its a gateway. and they make you buy it when you get hooked up. so, either way im buying a router. walmart is probably cheaper than buying one from my ISP.
@ B Wald: i didnt think of that. i have however called it every curse word i know. twice. and almost did the same to the tech rep at belkin but she helped as much as she could i guess. unless you actually get on xbox live, your not going to have a clue about what i was trying to tell her. its kind of hard to explain really.
anyway, thanks guys for the responses. if/when i get it figured out i will definitely post up what the problem was and the fix

so, here’s the update. its still not 100% but i actually did get online and ran a few races. i sent a PM to snowowl asking for help and, after looking at everything i had already tried he told me to do a hard reboot of the console. well i did that and the first time nothing happened…meaning xbox came back on and that was that. so, after a couple of hours i decided to do it again. well this time on reboot everything started sync’ing. so after letting it do all that i decided to try it. bam, in the lobby then actually running races. i probably stayed on multiplayer for 2 hours. just long enough to wonder why i had been trying so hard to join an online race in the first place. i guess the wreckers bought XB1’s as well… so, anyway, there it is. it has something to do with being synced up. so, my question is this. does anyone think it would help if i deleted all old FM5 data and start fresh. i would rather do this now while i’m at level 35 and for the most part have a garage full of cars i’ll probably never drive than to have to do it a year from now. i want to also thank snowowl ,should he happen to read this, for his help. i’m pretty sure he has me on the right path now
i am sure there are people out there that are tired of my posting about not being able to join races in multiplayer and to be honest i am WAY tired of getting on here and posting about it. but, my problem is still not fixed and unless i’ve missed something i haven’t read of a solution to my problem. that said, is there anybody else that cannot join an online race from the multiplayer lobby. i can do everything else, right up to having the servers find me a match and asking if i would like to join. after i click yes…or the A button…it waits maybe 2 seconds and then tells me i cant join. if anyone is either having this issue or had this issue and found a way to fix it please let me know. i dont care who it is, it could be the devil that tells me how to fix it and i’d pat him on the back, buy him a six of his favorite frosty beverage and tell everyone else how he’s not such a bad guy after all and maybe he’s just a little misunderstood.
have you tried using someone elses internet connection that does work with the game?
Unfortunately I can’t think of anything that could help you, but I’ve gotta say… That bit made me laugh pretty dang hard. Lol
@ david no, not yet. i only have one friend who plays forza and he plays horizon 2. but, thank you, i will take my xbox to his house the next time i’m off work. great idea actually. if nothing else i can check that off the list. i never had a problem with FM4 but that obviously means nothing.
@yakov at this point, i think trying to joke about it is the only thing keeping me from permanently taking up project cars. and to be honest, it’s an ok game with some good features but i just dont like it near as much as i do forza. so thats not an option.
thanks guys for the feedback. i sent a PM to helios earlier today. i’m hoping he knows whats wrong or knows what direction to point me to get it fixed. til then i’ll just keep going in career mode or making hot laps. or playing GTA 5 that i bought over the weekend. the new PGA tour 2015 is coming out soon too. in the past my mind was just focused on playing forza, i forgot that there are other good games to play
ok everyone. i have fixed my issue with multiplayer lobbies. finally. and i’m sure that theres at least a few of you out there that are tired of hearing me b***h about it. and as promised i am going to post the fix in case any new XB1/ FM5 players come along before FM6 hits. it was my router all along. the Belkin N300 wi-fi router model number F9K1007V1 is either not compatible with Turn 10’s new servers or their tech reps dont know how to configure them to be compatible. i had a hunch this was the problem all along but that router is only 9 months old and i didn’t want to go out and by a new one on a hunch. until last night that is. i bought a Linksys N600 ($70 @ walmart) and problem solved. i hope the mods are reading this so no one has to go through the headaches i did. so, if there is anyone out there in East Tennessee and has no desire to race online and wants a router for cheap, send me a message. or anywhere else for that matter as long as you dont care to pay the postage. if not, i’m going to take it out back and shoot it and then probably burn it right after i place one more call to belkin tech support. i appreciate everyone who tried to help me
