MAJOR Multiplayer Issues

Hello,
I am having major issues with Forza 5. I can not play multiplayer at all. I can not join a server, I can not create a private match. Someone will send a game invite or I will send a game invite and it is accepted yet I can not join lobby/game, or create a game (Private Race/Match).
I have called my ISP and they have gone thru my gateway router with me and have stated that ALL multiplayer functions are available and that the problem is not with my router. My Nat Type is on open and even on moderate or strict I still can not play the game.
I have also contacted Xbox One and have gone thru many steps to try and correct the problem.
The responses I get are UNABLE TO JOIN PARTY OR FAILED TO CREATE PRIVATE GAME

  1. uninstall and reinstall (after holding down power button and unplugging cord from back of Xbox One.
  2. Uninstall and reinstall without a complete shut down.
  3. Copying/Moving the game from my internal hard drive to my external drive, and when that did not work, I put it back into my internal drive.
  4. I have check my multiplayer connections on my Xbox One and the return message says that everything is ok.
  5. I have checked my Network connections and I am always at least 90% connection strength.
  6. My detailed network statistics have all come back where they are supposed to be and even had Xbox One reps walk me thru it on two separate occasions.
  7. I made sure that my Xbox One is connected to a wall outlet and not a power strip.
  8. FORZA 5 MOTORSPORT IS THE ONLY GAME THAT I AM HAVING ISSUES WITH!
  9. Every other game that I have multiplayer for work just fine, Battlefield 4, COD Ghost, Titan Fall NBA 2K14, Ryse and others. Forza 5 Motorsport is the only game that I am having these issues with.
  10. The Game is a Disc Download and not a download from the server.
I can play Career mode with out any problems. so the problem lies in multiplayer. There is no problem with my xbox or my connections or my router. It is a server based issue.
HOW DO I FIX THIS ISSUE??

So ummm no comments? I could really use some help here Turn10 since this is YOUR product!!

I got nothin’ bro, sorry. You’ve already tried everything I’d suggest.

This bit intrigued me - My Nat Type is on open and even on moderate or strict I still can not play the game.

Firslty you understand that open is the most lilkely to work. The way you worded that I am not sure you know open is what you want.

The other aspect that intrigued me is that it sounds like your connection can fluctuate between open, moderate and strict. It should be on open and stay on open.

I hate to say it but it comes to the online portion of Forza 5, your not going to get any help from Turn 10. Your only hope is from the community itself.

In regards to your specific issue I am not sure what can be done. I have experienced some of the issues you documented on rare occasion but it was always resolvable with a game or console reset.

You mentioned 90% connection strength which to me implies you are using a wireless connection. Folks I have played with have had very poor results when playing Forza 5 on a wireless connection.

Do you have the means to try a wired connection (assuming you are on a wireless)?

I have also played with folks that have had bizarre issues (like being randomly dropped from a lobby) or unable to us voice chat and they resolved it by updating their controller. So you might make sure your controller(s) are updated.

I wish I could help more. I know I am a broken record on the subject but online play with Forza 5 is an act in frustration. Even if you get around the current issues you are having, you will only be welcomed into a land of new issues to struggle with.

Xbox live is under maintenance just now I was having issues earlier today.

BiggerRoger38 - Once Xbox LIVE gets everything straightened out, make sure your own system is set up properly: Xbox Support There are sections in there about online, multiplayer and even the suggested ports to set for Xbox LIVE which will make sure it isn’t “you” having the issues.

Meanwhile: check Xbox Support They’re having issues, and it wouldn’t be worth your time and effort for a “fix” until they’re operating properly. Once they come back and all straightened out, it might just solve your problems.

I feel your pain, i got an Xbox One when they first came out & had connection issues where i couldn’t join any multiplayer lobby. I couldn’t find a solution & ended up getting rid of the xbox as Forza 5 was the main reason for buying one. If you’ve been through all the troubleshooting with Xbox & your ISP, i don’t think there is anything else left to try.

If your ISP is Virgin then turn on ipsec in your router.

I have searched everywhere for an answer, tried everything literally everything and no multiplayer… like many others my net is good and has no issue with online gaming on any other game on XB1 or any console we own "360, PS4, Wii, Vita etc etc.
I have spent hours on the phone with XB customer support and my ISP just to confirm there is no fault from my side, and to triple check every single thing that could be done was done.
I had hoped the latest update I installed 30 minutes ago was a fix but it wasnt.
I know I am not the only person with this issue, there has to be an answer, someone must know something…

TURN 10 ARE YOU LISTENING ???

Exact same problem here. Tried everything.

Like others, I have no problem running other games like Titanfall or movies but no Forza Multiplayer.

Also like others, I’m seriously thinking of (after 5 years of FM 3-4) taking the XBox One back and switch to GT (PS4) or wait for Project CARS.

Sad, very sad.

I think i might be able to help.

I had a similar issue after buying a new router. I spent hours with both xbox and linksys tech support and after trying everything multiple times i took the router back to the store got a d link and everything was good.

I’m honestly not sure how good the tech support is since atleast for me they only tried the same steps over and over again.

Here’s a list of networking devices from the xbox forums. If your device isn’t on the list it might not be compatible with forza or they haven’t found a work around for your issue. Try buying a new router from the list if possible(you can always return it if your issue still isn’t fixed), the only other thing i can think of is getting a new Xbox One.

Thanks for the suggestion, unfortunatly purchasing a new router is not an option for me :frowning: The router I have now is a “netgear” which is not on the linked list :frowning: I have had this router for about 10 months and had no issue using it for any gaming console or any game the only issue is with FORZA 5. I cannot justify another $300 purchase for a trial and error for one game to work when IMO it " forza 5 " should just work :frowning: I appreciate the reply all the same thanks.

I found that if you go into part chat and leave multi player but not chat it then will let you log into multiplayer or join room on forza its an issue my friends and i have all the time
