Failed to find a game session (online multiplayer)

In both normal multiplayer and League, I cannot join a race. I have been trying for several days and never got it to work since I bought the game last week. Tried both wired and wireless, reset my router and modem, my NAT is open and in the Xbox settings I select test multiplayer connection and it always passes. I have no networking issues on my end.

After selecting which car class to race, I get “creating matchmaking request” followed by a really long “please wait” screen which leads to “Failed to find a game session”.

I have only gotten into multiplayer if my friend sends me a multiplayer game invite and then I can get into a lobby and do some racing. But I cannot find or create a multiplayer lobby myself.

I didn’t see any solutions in this thread. Only that they say there is a latency limit on it. My latency is 71ms with 0 packet loss which is fine for multiplayer games. My friend with the same internet provider is able to play without issue.

do a hard reboot. hold the power button until it fully shuts off. (should take 10 seconds) then unplug the power and plug it back it and restart it. it will boot up slower than normal but that worked for me back on fm5.

I did this now it just says multiplayer is unavailable and wont even get to the class selection screen.

This has been happening to me since i bought the game, il get in on rare occasions but very very rarely,tried all different kinds of fixes but nothing has worked, nor has Turn 10 even bothered to reply to my email, what can we as a customer do?

its also happening to me but only the last couple of days, ive been able to join no problem in the past but now im not able to, a friend has invited me once and ive been able to join but not by myself, ive tried all trouble shooting and nothing… if anyone has comes up with a solution or has been contacted back from turn 10 or microsoft support can you please post it on here :slight_smile:

I have also been getting this error for the past 2 odd months. I have tried everything under the sun but still no luck. If anyone has a solution please let me know .

For sometime multiplayer has not been working. I’m pretty sure you guys are sick of me by now but nothing gets done about my issue. Please just give me some feedback or something . I mean sure you’ve made your money out of me but i’d at least like to use what I paid for. There is only so much career mode a person can play .

T10 know about it… they can’t give a good answer to everyone that ask. they are working on it but we wont know anything before someone at T10 gives us information. it doesnt even have to be anything With t10… the multiplayer issue began after the Xbox live update and the november forza update. so it can be something With Xbox live. and T10 can’t do much over there… the New Xbox live update comes around in february i think. we might not get that issue fixed before that.

What’s your issue? Can’t connect to multiplayer at all?

I can get to the waiting screen then once I try and join any race lobby it tells me “failed to find a game session” I have done everything on my side but still no luck.

So earlier this evening my xbox had an update to which I’m not sure what it did but i can tell you it never fixed my forza multiplayer . Now i’m not saying that it was going to i’m just putting it out there that my issue is still around. I’m sure you guys are aware . Before people mention any NAT or internet or xbox mac address , i’v tried it all nothing works but i have not given up on forza yet . Sure multiplayer is broken but it has given me time to do other things like create decals/ designs and compete with people on rivals . So forza you have made a great game even though my multiplayer is broken.

Hello tried unplugging my headset and tried it agian and it worked. after that I plugged it back in.

Had this problem for the last 3 days.

Never an issue ever, nothing has changed.

Cant join a damn game. have rebooted everything multiple times and im having nil luck.

Not amused.

FIXED… held down xbox button for 10 seconds… unplugged power cord for 10 seconds. put it back in, all back to normal.

I’m having the same problem, tried everything and hold down the xbox button but still doesn’t work, any ideas? Has worked when joining someone’s game but not on my own. Please help

Try " quit game " from your dashboard. Re-start the game. If it does not work, and you are connected to the internet, then it is a server issue.

I can’t quit a race because I’m still on pre lobby can’t join any lobby. It only worked when I joined someone else game but that was it. So when I join a lobby on my own I just get a very long wait and then failed to get a game session :confused: recently started doing this. I’ve checked multi player connection says it’s fine
