Forza Motorsport is a great great game! Don’t get me wrong in anyway. i love the gameplay and the PVT MP lots
But at the beginning of the year the South African players could connect to leagues and public MP so we miss out on the top 50% cars., however because of the updates we have not been able to join the games, it always comes up with errors, unfortunately due to costs and lack of fiber availability we cannot play online, it really limits the game to career and PVT MP. I am not speaking by myself but a group of about 80 - 100+ people. we have tried all we can do, but nothing. some of us are running up to a 10 or 15mb ps line but its still not good enough.
could something be done??
The beginning of the year it was fine, then slowly we got shut out.
not wanting to cause conflict, but our opinion would like to be heard.
Wow…That’s unfortunate and sad that a large number of players are being shut out. And I thought I was having some bad luck with online connection problems here in NC. Hopefully you’ll all get a resolution in the not too distant future.
I’ve recently paired up with a few people from SA as they were experiencing the same issue as I was: failed to find game session.
You can come race with us the next time we meet, which would be sometime tonight. It’s currently 11:30 am here, which means it’s 8:30 am for you guys in SA. Those guys will probably start popping up on my radar at around 7 or 8 pm I suppose, SA time.
In the meantime add me, so I can send you the invite to the private lobby when it happens: Speedster996.
I’m in the UK and I’m only getting at best 4-5mbs, I hardly ever have a problem joining the leagues unless it’s a Microsoft or T10 issue. Hope you get some answers cause that would suck not ever being able to join MP.
It certainly does suck and the fact that we can all join a private lobby and play online for hours without any disconnect or simmilar problem shows to me the problem is not on our side. Nobody (besides ourselves) seems to care though, so chances of getting an answer looks slim at this stage.
I think I read somewhere about people having poor latency (ping) would struggle to join MP lobbies, do you know what your latency is? Mines about 60-70.
I’ve read that too, but if I did have poor latency (which I do not have) why then can I join a private MP lobby without any hassle and play non-stop for hours with no disconnects or any other issues. Does not make sense to me because latency should then be a problem in the private lobby too. Or is it not ? I must add though that I’m no specialist on the subject, but trying to find answers proofed an impossible task up to now. And worse is, no one seems to care. I’m a die-hard Forzanian, but this is getting under my skin. Anyway, thanks for the interest and trying to help. Hopefully we get this solved.
PS. I have a 10 MB ADSL internet line which gives me 8 download, 6 upload and latency between 80 and 110 which is well inside the XBLive requirements and those mentioned by Mechberg somewhere on the forum.
PVT MP has been perfect since the start and still is, Public MP was fine then all of a sudden more and more people were unable to join, from around decemeber to now, it really sucks. I dont know why they changed it
South Africa is listed as an Xbox One sanctioned country and that means that it’s up to that country to be able to provide its Internet customers with the necessary bandwidth that will allow the game to function at its optimal level. Upgrade your bandwidth if available and problem is solved. If that’s not an option, there is really nothing that anyone on the Microsoft side can do to assist in any way. This is all in your court. Sorry mate!
No, completely incorrect. I had internet issues for the first few months after release, but after great guidance from Snowowl and quite a few dollars to upgrade my internet, I played hoppers and leagues just about every night for months Then very recently with release of the Porsche extention, the problem started again for a lot of us over here. I had one of my IT specialist in (a gamer too) to test everything including bandwith and after discussion with my ISP, router manufacturer technician support and XBox support, he confirmed that I’m over “qualified” on all fronts for online play, including FM6. So your statement about bandwidth and it’s all in my court is a wild guess and totally bull to say the least. I definately don’t blame Microsoft or T10 as I dont have factual proof of anything (yet), but sure as hell I know the problem is not on my side or my so called sanctioned country or it’s internet provider. I’ve got plenty of proof of that.
Im Not an expert or even know anythingso this could be all kaka.
Are the private MP local or also to US players?
There could be an hang up in a common pipeline out.
I would not assume that leagues and private are in same server i.e. Equal, they may be talking to two different areas all together.
Not understanding cloud servers all that well, I would assume certain areas connect to local servers that talk out bound to others connected. It’s possible the issue the leagues are local server out and when you connect to private you are connecting somewhere else and don’t have the issue.
I wish I could give you the answers but unfortunately I know probably as much as you, (not a lot!) lol.
I hope someone who does know their stuff helps you out, has anyone from T10 shed some light on your problem? If you haven’t it may be worth sending a PM to someone from T10.
I’ll wish you luck anyway mate and hope you somehow get the answers you need.
Thanks mate, appreciate that. Yes, I plan to ask T10 for help and guidance, but I know if they are prepare to help they will have some questions, and I’m a bit “restrained” when it comes to IT, networking and computers. So have a few IT guys working on that before I ask for their help. If that does’nt bring success, well then I suppose I’m stuck with Mario Karts. LOL.
FM2 - 4 matchmaking was peer-to-peer, with FM5 and 6 it’s hosted by a Microsoft server. It’s how that sever tries to fill lobbies that I think is the problem. It isn’t just your lag, it’s your lag, everyone else already playing and how the server tries to coordinate it so you don’t have a bunch of cars zipping through the air.
Not many people race online in Forza. When you could see population numbers in FM3, the all time high was 5000ish, and the numbers could vary wildly throughout the day. Basically back in December was when the online population peaked and you had more opportunities to find a match. When you try to get into a lobby now, the server jsut looks at you and goes nope, I cant fit you in the existing lobbies.
The best you can do is to try at peak times which is about 6-9 pm East Coast ( U.S. )
Thanks, will try that, though it still does not make sense because online play in FM5 is, as you said, also hosted by a Microsoft server and I can get into a FM5 lobby any day, any time without any hastle, be it peak time or not. Anyway, will try your suggestion and hope it works.
I appreciate all the love we getting for our Forza multiplayer issues. I have read through all the comments and some makes quite valid points.
I myself and countless others has lost interested because of the struggle being real.
I have contacted Xbox/Microsoft support and spend many hours trying to figure out what the hell is the problem.
They too said it’s my internet was the problem. I wanted a second opinion then I hired an IT and Networking Specialist yet was still was unsuccessful.
I then upgraded from 10mb line with 1.8mb upload to 22mb down with 2.8 upload. And yet I’m still stuck in PVT lobbies and career mode.
I have even done port forwarding which immediately helped with loading times and consistency in other games including FM5 & HR2 but just not Forza 6. This have also opened my Nat, so far to date haven’t been on mod or strict.
Bottom line SA player are feed-up of this bull. Second hand Xbox One’s and Forza games(almost free) are for sale almost everywhere and for dirt cheap.
This also destroys teams. Had a 20+ to only 5 players which sometimes cannot connect to pvt lobby or disconnect while playing is a moral killer.
Not forgetting the loss of sponsorships.
I do love this game. But it might push me away because paying for something and only receiving a third of it’s value is just stupid to hold on.
Purchasing an Exclusive edition was the biggest waste of money.
