Tire Tuning Question

Can anyone tell me what i need to adjust so that the middle of my tires aren’t cooler than the outside or inside? Thanks ahead of time for any advice.

up the tyre pressures.

Thanks Jack. That is what I was working out too. Why aren’t you on anyways?

FWIW, this is the first Forza where I’ve seen tire pressure actually represented in the inner/middle/outer tire temps! It’s awesome!

One of the old “tire care” truths that our granddad’s used to share was watching the tire wear of your cars tires. If the center is worn more than the outsides, your tire pressure is too high. If the outsides are uniformly worn more than the center of the tire, the pressure is too low.

Since it’s air pressure that inflates the tire, you can think of it like a balloon. Consider how the tire is mounted to the wheel. The beed locks the tire against the rim of the wheel, so the sidewall is supported while the center of the tire is suspended above the wheel. The only part of the tire that will expand or give is the center of the tire. So too much pressure will push the center of the tire out. Because the sidewalls are supported, the weight of the car will press the sidewalls into the ground, and they will squeeze in on the center… it can’t go into the ground it’s pinch away from the ground and in towards the wheel.

If the center is being pushed out, it will heat up more during turning… if the tire is being pinched and is pulling away from the ground, the side will heat up more while the center will have no frictions and be cooler.

What you’ll wanna look out for is situations where the camber is either too high or too low while the tire pressure is also too high or too low. What that’ll look like is the center and either the outer or inner being the same temp, while the 3rd area is either too high or too low. This had me confused for a while until I figured it out.
