I’ve just recently been getting serious about my tunes, so basically I’m a noob. Have been doing a good amount of research and enjoying it. One thing I’ve quite occasionally been having a problem with is the inner/outer tire temp. I sometimes end up having one tire having a hotter outer temp then the inner edge while the other three tires are at the temp they should be (inner being hotter) . And sometimes I’ll have one side of the car (left or right) having a hotter outer edge than inner edge. Meaning, eg. the left side front and back tires outer is hotter then inner while the right side is hotter inner than outer. I’ve tried fixing this with the sway bars but that doesn’t seem to fix it. Has anyone experienced this or know what to adjust to fix it? Thanks.
You’ll find a track has a bias due to it being clockwise/anticlockwise. Hence if it’s clockwise normally your left side temperatures will be hotter, and vice versa. If your outside temperatures on that side are hotter t han the insides, it may be a camber thing. Adding more negative camber, with a click at a time, might be just enough to sort it. I always tune for the side that takes the load because the corners that impose the forces on that side, are more times than not the critical ones you want to nail.
Sometimes that may mean sacrificing a little bit from something else, which is most of the battle. No sacrifice no victory You have to give up something to get something, that’s what I found when tuning.
