When I try to start a Multiplayer race with my wheel the paddles don’t work like they’re supposed to. The right paddle looks back and I have to shift with B and X which is really awkward on the wheel with it moving all the time. The only way I can fix it is disconnect and reconnecting the wheel and by the time I’m done with that in already 4,000ft behind everyone else. Happened 3 races in a row. Anyone else having this issue?
Edit: Did a hard reset of the console and that fixed it for the time being but my controller ended up turning off (use it for my headset) so I turned the controller back on a and the next race sure enough the same issue happened again
Same here and I had controller on for chat and then it turned off and wheel buttons changed.I bet a work around is to keep controller plugged in to xbox charging so it doesnt turn off maybe.
I’ve had the same problem in career - if I have a control pad and the wheel on the upshift also looks backwards. If I switch the controller off the problem goes away - of course that isn’t a great solution if you want the mic for online.
Same problem for me, all well in singelplayer but when I get in to multiplayer lobby the wheel is complitely useless. And another thing, how much would it cost Thrustmaster to install a 3,5 mm jack on the wheel so we could use the headset without a second controller ? Even Fanatec managed that on the Porsche wheel for xBox 360.
The problem you’re all experiencing is that the system is prioritizing your controller as the input device. Even though it recognizes your wheel as an input device, it’s treating it (and its inputs) like a gamepad.
When this happens, the easiest fix is to power down the controller (not the wheel!) and then power it back on. This seems to hand priority back to the wheel.
Tried that twice yesterday and it was the same. Even tried to go online without controller connected and when I get in to a race my cameraview was out to the right and the car was in revers and I had to use the buttons on the wheel to gear but the veiw was out to right all the time and that is not easy to drive with
Are there anybody from Turn 10 that read this post ? Had been nice with some feedback from a dev on this matter. Turn 10 has a lot to learn from the SMS team regarding feedback to the community on issues with a game.
This has been posted in the bug thread on FM6 Support forum. I would like to see the Mods acknowledge this though as it really makes MP nearly unplayable. Happened to me on my second race.
Happened while using party chat and having my headset through my charging controller.
I had this problem once while I was doing the career. I backed out and went to free play and everything was correct so I quit and went back to my career and it still worked fine. Not sure if this has to do with the gamepad being on or off because mine was off during this whole time. It’s plugged in but I turn it off with the home button right away just so the game doesn’t have two input devices…to, you know, avoid this kind of issue in the first place.
Yes I know but if you want to talk to your friends when you race them you have to turn on your controller since the TX wheel don’t support headset and microphone. I refuse to use a controller to play Forza since I bought the wheel to play racing games and I stink at it without a wheel.
Oh I know, I just brought that up because I don’t think the gamepad being on or off has any impact on this issue happening since mine was off from the start and I had it happen to me.
I have the same issue however this isn’t the first game I have seen it in. Sorry to swear on these forums but I first had this happen when playing Project Cars and at the time I thought it was a feature (aka a bug) of that game but now I have got it on Forza 6 to must be something else.
A quick question for you to try and narrow this down:
Who has Project Car’s installed or not installed
Who is on the dashboard preview program
These are the only two factors that I can think of that cause this issue. Not sure if there has been a controller update recently that might fix this issue but it seems to be an Xbox issue rather than game related. Sorry once again for mentioning the word above in these fantastic forums
I have Project Cars installed and are on the dashboard preview program. However this has never happened on Project Cars even if that was full of other bugs at release. I have played Forza 5 online for a long time and it all works fine and dandy with TX wheel and controller connected at the same time.
Found one solution that worked for me yesterday. Played singelplayer and got an invite from my friend to a party, went in to the party and suddenly my camera angel was out to the right, only reverse on the car and no buttons worked as they should. I ragequit the singelplayer game and got into wheel settings, changed it to layout 4 in desperation instead of 1 and started the game again. All worked fine and my friend invited me to multiplayer and to my surprise was all working fine there also, All you guys that have this problem try this and see if it works for you.
