Long story short, I’d been debating which wheel to get for along time and didn’t feel like dropping the cash for a Fantec set up, i tried the Thrustmaster wheel and loved it thought it would be great. I ordered mine from an online retailer through eBay got a pretty killer price on it, also ordered the GTE wheel through Amazon and they both got here within a couple days.
I got the wheel all put together hooked it up to the Xbox and turned it on, the wheel responds for the first about 10 seconds then says it’s disconnected and only the xbox guide button on the wheel base works, all the buttons on the wheel stop working, this happens for both my wheels. That night i screwed around with it for a couple hours before giving up. Tried all my usb ports, tried resetting them. Plugged the wheel into my computer got the firmware all up to date, and everything works fine on my computer i tried it out with BeamNG and rFactor. But not matter what on my xbox it works for the first 5 seconds and cuts out, and i dont have my game controller on. I’ve called thrustmaster and talked to them about it and walked them through it all, they asked for me to send the wheel base in so they can check it out, or asked if i could try it on another xbox. The place i ordered it through is being really cool, they said i could return it for a full refund if i need too and apologized for the problem. It just surprises me that the wheel works perfect on my computer and not my xbox, seeing if you guys had any tips or suggestions before i go through the ordeal of turning this one in and getting another.
