New to a wheel. We are having a problem with the wheel jerking back and forth on straights, with or without throttle. It’s not absolutely consistent, doesn’t seem to affect every vehicle.
It happens with or without holding the wheel, although I’m not holding the wheel in the video for the purpose of showing the problem. The vehicle in the video is a FWD Focus, I think Class B. We have sim steering and TCS (sport) turned on.
Here are my advanced wheel settings (which generally feel really good other than this one issue):
What could the problem be? I thought maybe it was wheelspin on acceleration but it will do the same thing with no throttle or brake input at all, even when driving at a crawl.
That’s normal believe it or not. I’ve experienced that in every racing game I’ve ever played. The wheel needs hands on it to keep that from happening. It oscillates from the feedback kicking the wheel one way but there’s no resistance to keep it straight so they just do that as it keeps correcting itself. It’s a really weird thing with wheels. Try these setting though. I find the wheel settings to be stupid heavy and the feedback too aggressive compared to a real car. This won’t fix the oscillating, but it will help you not feeling like you’ve got to wrestle your wheel. just remember that you’re the one in control. It’s easy to let a wheel kick you around.
You are experiencing what is called wheel oscillation and it’s usually caused by your wheel damper being set too low. Raising the damper will make the wheel feel heavier and slow the speed of wheel rotation too
My Logitech trueforce’s manual shifter doesn’t work anymore, it worked for the first day after buying the game, and now nothing. I had the same problem in forza horizon 5 but it was my a button and the clutch pedal. I’ve gone through all of the possible issues on my end but I can’t get it to work. I don’t really care about the fh5 problems but I just got fm and this shouldn’t be happening already.
