I have found a 1994 Mazda Miata MX5 that has been converted into a race car that is for sale and I can afford it. I’ve been learning how to tune cars using a 1994 Miata. I’ve been journaling this experience on a thread called a tuning experience. I joked about buying one and taking it to track days. I wondered how much it would cost so I did some checking online. That is where I found the car and it is near me. Curse you Turn 10.
Lol this is why I’m playing Forza and not at the real track anymore. The cost of playing Forza is thousands less then taking the car or bike out to the track and ended up breaking something witch will cost even more money. Heck you can go broke just buying tires. I defiantly don’t get the same rush as running for real but I’m also saving way more money. Also I think it help that I race the R/C cars on the weekends now so I can still get my fix of working on something.
But the thrill of doing it for real on a track cannot be beat. FM physics are still not up to realistic.
If you’re into cars and going fast, I’m sure it’s thrilling. Personally, I get every thrill I could need regarding automobiles from playing Forza. If I want a REAL thrill, I go scuba diving, bungy jumping, or alpine skiing.
As for video games being realistic, I doubt that any game within the next decade will be anywhere near really realistic, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t get great thrills from playing them.
Rabbit0317,
You’re probably right. It is just tempting. If I need to get a rush I can always take one of my motorcycles into the hills near where I live.
Yeah it was a blast when I was younger and had the cash to blow through. If you have the money and think its in your budget I would strongly recommend it. The catch is every time I would go out I would want to make it faster and handle better witch meant upgrades and that’s the slippery slope. The bike was quite a bit more cost effective for up keeps and parts because I was never really good enough to push the bike to it’s limits. I think I spent more on tires for the bike than anything, but the car went from intake, exhaust, coil overs, ARB, and so on. It got pricey fast one set of tires was $900 buck and you could get threw 3/4 of the year on them. Still had a blast.
I’ve never really seen the fun in working on cars, or ever had the urge to race or even drive them fast. I see Forza as the perfect R/C car game when you’re in ‘Far chase’ view and controlling with a controller.
First time I every made a perfect corner on the bike with the knee down and rolling the throttle out onto the straight was the biggest rush ever. I’m also a very hands on person since I was a little kid taking things apart and putting it all back together again. Way more interesting than to me then reading a book, but that’s just how I am.
The biggest rush I ever had on a bike was when two cars crashed in front of me at about 70 mph. I saw a gap open up and throttled up and went right through the tire smoke and bits of debris. I don’t want to do it again but it was a rush.

Lol I think I would have stained my shorts.
I never thought about that. All I thought about was avoiding the cars.
I think that the OP is mentioning a real-life 1994 Miata. I didn’t understand the OP at all. I think that you are at the wrong subforum.

He saying that Forza has him hooked and now he’s thinking about buying a real car to run at the track.

I am talking about a real-life Miata but the purpose of the post was as Rabbit0317 said. I am hooked on the game and especially my 1994 Mazda Miata. I probably won’t buy the real one but If I do I post about it in another thread.
The reason I purchased my miata was enjoying driving them so much on Forza. I have kept modifications to a minimum:- I only drive it on the street and I need to keep my licence. I still have fun on backcountry roads though.
