Agreed on 15+ for the next game. At least then we can have some good music without missing words every 3 seconds.
I don’t want to listen to nursery rhymes in FH6.

Stop this censoring else…
I’m going to climb high into the sky
Almost all the way to Uranus, but who could blame us?
And sit on the Moon to battle the inflated balloon
which leads to denial that makes us smile in my own kind of style.
Doubtful, unless if they make it an E10+ game like FH2 had. Hadn’t they thought of “Mild Lyrics” before in the past?
Even if they did, censorship has no sign of slowing down anytime soon.
If we could just have the theme from “Arthur” on every station, then surely no one could ever be offended again.
all it takes is a google search and u have the unedited song. so why even edit the music
there are bigger issues witht the game that need to be fixed maybe start focusing on that devs
Sure you can play uncensored versions on Spotify or whatever, but the effects for the music in different areas go away (Like when you enter a Festival or tunnel)
Because the game has a Rating that they have to adhere to. And when you go off and search something out that’s on you. Your choice.
Yes, there are bigger issues in the game. Maybe people here should also be focusing on that instead of moaning about how some stupid juvenile lyric joke in a song gets bleeped in the game ? As you said all anyone has to do if they want the unedited song is google it. Or, maybe support the artist and BUY the expletive song ?

It’s painfully obvious they just saw what was big on TikTok and picked those. Memes too I guess with the addition of the dang GrubHub song.
FH1’s music is what you’d hear at a real music festival. FH5’s music is what you’d hear during a TikTok compilation.
I haven’t heard All Star in the game.
It’s definitely way too late to reverse this issue in Horizon 5, but I would like to see this issue rectified in sequels, especially since the censorship seems to be more of a decision made by Microsoft than the ESRB.
Understand though, this isn’t censorship per se. It’s all above board and even the artists have to have signed off on it as part of the contract for getting paid (or featured). You buy the game based on it’s rating. The artists could have said no to the terms. If this bothers you (the general you, not picking anyone specific) restrict your gaming purchases to R-rated titles. Like you say, it’s a marketing decision, as simple as that. There is no censorship to “reverse” or fight. It’s a non-issue. Or take it up with the artists for agreeing.
EDIT : Or as I guessed at one point it’s a mistake by an overzealous nanny-bot. Even then though, the action is covered under the contract and licensing. Might as well howl at the moon.
The songs got censored when Lego came out, so it’s more to do with adapting the game for kids rather than for Microsoft.
Hence why we’ve gotten multiple toy expansions in the recent games.
I would suspect they also couldn’t list it as a Game Pass title if it wasn’t rated E and that would be a huge market hit right there, kids or no.
The Theme from Arthur that I immediately thought of was by Christopher Cross, from the Dudley Moore movie, but that’s probably my age showing.
Exactly. I actually listened to most of the stations in FH1 on rotation until I got bored. Since FH2 it’s been the Classic station for a week or two, then mute for skill songs. Used Groove while it was available in FH3, but now use external streaing.
Off topic slightly, but it’s really disappointing that FH5’s radio stations are just the same as before. I was expecting a much more Mexican flavour, with Spanish speaking hosts. Eterna seems to have followed on from the witty Aussie guy in FH3 and 4, but with a boring lady. It’s something, but like the rest of the game, the ‘Mexican’ flavour is cigarette paper thin.
FH1 was marketed as a racing game centered atound a music festival. Racing and music were its main focus. Never got to play the game but that’s what I remember from the trailers and game news back then.
Same as FIFA ever was, people complain about anything these days jeez
