You’re having these issues “last months”?
These issues are ‘imported’ from FH4 and are present since 2018 ![]()
I E been having issues with that over the last week. The only thing that seems to help is to narrow the search results.
Even if it is quick resume that causes the issues isn’t that a little bit embarrassing in itself?
A first party game going to pieces because of a first party feature, the Xbox One version of GTA V is 10 years old next year and it handles quick resume just fine, Borderlands 2 on the One is currently over 8 years old and I have started playing it again recently, earlier in the week I went off it onto FH5 for a bit, went back on using quick resume later and was straight back into the game.
Honestly I don’t know whether to laugh or despair at the fact that out of the games I play the only one that seemingly can’t handle Microsoft’s feature is the Microsoft published one.
Honestly, never understood how a feature like quick resume could possibly work without causing issues, especially in certain games.
FH5 has always been sensitive to RAM issues. It’s a massive RAM hog on PC and it might be the game that gets the biggest uplift from activating the resizable BAR feature. I’m not shocked that not having a proper RAM flush (turning the game off) causes issues.
I don’t have hands on experience with quick resume but I do with the Playstation 5’s equivalent. I played through the entirety of God of War: Ragnarök using the feature and it caused no issues. I’m now playing Horizon: Forbidden West, and yeah, it causes problems when I don’t fully shut down the game.
I suspect it’s more an issue with the feature than the game. Certain games will just be more sensitive to it than others, and I’d guess it would be those which are sensitive to RAM issues.
I get kicked from Trials and championships in open racing. Submitted a ticket and about 4 videos with times and dates. They responded they are working on it. They suggested quitting quick resume which is ok in the short term but I don’t accept that as a long term permanent solution. If your 1st party game can’t work with a consoles advertised function that’s the developers mistake not the consumers.
I’ve never once had this issue on Xbox Series X. I do the trial first thing when the new playlist starts. I would never use quick resume especially on a Forza game where data loss is always a possibility. Don’t do that. It’s not like it takes that long to load. It’s like 1 minute.
Quick resume seems to turn itself back on a lot even after turning it off.
Awesome. Lol I never used I don’t think. Maybe once by accident. I’ll be sure not too.
3 in a row ai ram fest in trails.
The first year of playing this game I posted several threads about lost progression, credits, cars, countless hours making tunes and saving them, (only to having them lost), ect. Grinding the Vocho story 3 times to get 1 registered completion was almost enough to make me want to drink a massive cyanide cocktail. Missed opportunities from cars due to lost progress, not being able to use the Auction House, (which I never use now, but way more important in the beginning when you’re trying to acquire so much for so little).
All of that happened while using quick resume on Series S. Ever since I switched to properly shutting the game down each time, I’ve never had a single incident, which is obviously a relief, but also a testament to just how fundamentally broken this game is. The Trial is just another example.
All of this is why I no longer run in live races. At all. In FH4 I raced a few of them but was totally turned off by the jerkish behavior of the racers, not to mention the jerkish behavior of the AI who had apparently been trained on live jerks.
Today I race only against the AI, but I’ve figured out how to pass them far enough away to avoid their jerkiness. I’m fine with this, and having a good time with FH5.
Used to be I was pleasantly surprised when a Trial teammate didn’t try running me off the road. Now it’s the AI, seriously. There should be a “Report” button just for them. I don’t pretend to know anything about coding or the like, but wouldn’t they have to design them to do that? If so, is there any greater irony, especially given the updated TOS and their focus on clean racing?
Same here, I’ve missed out on the last two because it’ll never load. I’ll get the event starting countdown then finding teams countdown and just disappears. I’ve tried quitting the game, restarting, and just plain attempting to launch The Trial multiple times. This isn’t nearly as bad as the item hunt/smash which wouldn’t work either see the fun image below.
You have to remember, Motorsport (which I refer to affectionately as FMhate) was built “brand new” from the ground up. Which is why it looks almost cut and paste copy to FM7. And you should expect all your designs and tunes to import from previous Motorsport versions as well. As the tune and paint interface hasn’t changed all that much. So do you really expect that much out of the “new”
ForzaTech engine?
Maybe if the New Motorsport had been built New from the ground up on a state of the art gaming engine like unreal 5.2. You would KNOW it was new totally from the ground up. And maybe FH6 would follow suit.
But the new FMhate is too close to FM7. So the new forzatech engine has got to be too close to the little engine that couldn’t. Maybe just able to handle more calculations faster. But what did they really change?
FH6 will be just as broken. And I’m not a pessimist, I’m looking at it as optimistically as I possibly can bassed on current evidence.
my team won trail. took 3 more trail tries. last one we all ram ai at start of race.
only way to win
Trial is not broken. I participate in it every week and the only problems I have is the over abundance of users who don’t actually participate. They show up and sit there expecting everyone else on the team will win with enough points to reward their ambivalence. And if that isn’t the case, then they’re just bad drivers. Learn to drive. Problem solved.
No it isn’t…ramming isn’t the only way to win…actually driving is how you win.
“Built from the ground up” my brother in Christ you’re still using Forza aero from 2013
Wouldn’t that be 2005? Actually… has it changed since day one?
I’d have to look into that but it wouldn’t surprise me.
