So i had my bi weekly horrible penalty race today and it gave me the idea to start a thread where everyone could come in and have fun sharing penalties they’ve received that they aren’t quite certain they deserved.
The point of this thread is to have fun more so then complain about FRR in this game so just try and have a giggle or two.
the rules I’d like everyone to stick to are as follows.
1. Video evidence only. it is hard to judge a penalty based only on a drivers anecdotal evidence of what happened. Imagine the Marshalls in F1 trying to dish out penalties with zero video evidence of what happened and only going off what the drivers themselves say. (You can bind “record what happened” to your xbox controller on any button in the devices settings on xbox.)
2. Add a poll after each video with a binary yes/no answer. this in my mind will be what separates this thread from other ones just complaining about FRR. Polls are fun and that’s what this threads about. I suppose if you want to add a humorous answer too that’s be encouraged.
Good luck and i hope ppl partake ( also to SP players, feel free to add your gameplay too.)

This second one i don’t think i did. While his first block might have been a mistake, he definitely just tried to put me in the wall after on purpose. Hilariously he finished right behind me in tenth when all was said and done. Funny thing is there was no way i would have gotten a 2.25sec lead so he really shot himself in the foot for no reason. I PRAY i never drive near this dude IRL.

WTH man that system is total nonsense and belongs in a dumbster. It’s always the one that is not responsible for the accident that gets the penatly.

Just wait. I’m sure if this thread gains traction you’ll get to see much worse then that lol.
Feel free to add any you get in freeplay if you can haha.
That guy in the second video has gone all Jarno Trulli on you then he spins and you get 6.5 secs penalty, it’s totally insane.

They are hard to say, i would need the replay saved so i see you steering inputs and everything.
On the first or second one?
The major problem is the replay doesn’t reflect half of what it was actually like in game. I’ve watched a couple where I was rammed at full speed at Le Mans and saw the other player ram me but in the replay it shows them 3 car lengths back and me just spinning out in 360’s at the end of one of the high speed straights
The replays are so poorly jumbled together that they can’t even show the actual race positions, what you start as is all it can do, just another cheap and nasty aspect of this game.
Did everyone enjoy the white lines where the track is stitched together when having to race that 5 lapper of Nordschleife?

One interesting bug i found with replays when i did that ai vs player tire wear test was this.
If a car has 10% wear, rewind 10seconds, it’ll still say 10%, then play until where it originally said 10%, it’ll then be well over 10%.
Essentially, telemetry in replays is completely wrong after rewinding.
I didn’t test it for other aspects in telemetry. I assume fuel would be broken the same. I can only hope stuff that fluctuates more like G forces, or suspension travel, or tire temp remain accurate after rewinding.

Not that it matters but i definitely didn’t try and pit him, i however was probably steering to the left in an effort not to get fed into the wall which would have killed my speed.
Wow almost everything about the game is broken, even the replays. I haven’t paid attention to that yet.

First clip, there’s two hits. The first one, race incident. The second one though, you clip the Ford GT from behind and I think you could have avoided it. It doesn’t seem to have affect the GT though, so I think it’s more a race incident than a fault. Unless you broke something on the GT, but I doubt damage is turned on.
Second clip, you also rear-end the Lotus first. It’s unclear if the second hit is the result of the first (e.g. from loss of control) or independent. But on both occasions, you could have lifted off the throttle to avoid contact, or take a wider berth around the Lotus. You had the visibility and the opportunity to handle that better. And considering you wouldn’t have gained a position from the overtake anyways, it seems like a needlessly aggressive move. I don’t think the penalty is undeserved.

The first video you clipped a Ford GT while full throttle and then passed him so yes you deserved that.
The second clip you rear ended a dude because the player couldn’t keep it straight or was trying to block. You stayed flat out and spun him.
You fully deserved both penalties.
But… the game is dead and the Devs won’t care.

I wasn’t full throttle when i hit the GT. I hit the brakes when he did even though he braked way too early (he also seemed to stop unrealistically fast, idk if thats just me though.) you can see when he brakes he goes flying past me, while everyone in front of him braking i only gain on slightly. The more i watch the more i think some kind of network shenanigans caused him to practically stop on a dime from my perspective.
Add onto that it didnt hinder him at all, so it seems harsh to me. It was also at the start so theres always going to be more contact.
you were full throttle when 1st hit the ford car, and i think you are more likely not to get penalties if you are not full throttle when you collide.
Idk if we’re watching same video. I’m definitely full on the brakes before i hit the ford GT, i was definitely full throttle when i rubbed the civic but i don’t think either of us would get a penalty for that.
I do find it interesting the results of the poll for the second one though.
I am one of the people who voted you deserved the penalty for the second clip.
I don’t think you deserved that severe of a penalty, but you deserved one non the less.
You rammed the guy on the banking while still accelerating, you didn’t even attempt to slow down and find your spot for the overtake. You clearly had a speed advantage, would have beaten him to the line no problem, but you couldnt wait to overtake him in a safe manner. The game punished you for an avoidable collision, and that is exactly what you have caused, right call for me.

No penalty here, surprisedly. But I don’t know what happened there.
Looks like a textbook lag hit. Your car probably hit theirs on their screen, but not on yours.
It’s interesting that because your game didn’t detect a hit that you got no penalty. I wonder how common such lag hits are.
