I see a lot of posts here ripping into the devs and PG but I haven’t seen a single post saying thanks to the team who has brought us this amazing game.
A lot of people have spent a lot of time making this game and I am really enjoying it.
So here is my thank you to the whole team that has worked on Forza Horizon 5.
And here is a thread where everyone can say their Thank Yous.
Thank you for making such an impressive and immersive open world racing game. I’m playing on Xbox One.
Agree. Despite issues I’ve played and had fun. Thanks guys, filter out the noise and hear us, we’re all crackheads that need a fix.
And Thanks Max for your schedules, breakdowns, and patience. Not all mods created equally.
Thanks to the team for bragging in let’s go episodes, making getaway video not even from the fh5 world and then present this big disappointment of a horizon game. Thanks $$$
Yeah sorry I’m not one for thanking people just doing the job they’re paid for and only to a reasonable degree + when I believe they can do better and have done in the past.
We’ve all paid for a product they made, that’s thanks enough in my book just like with any other purchase, I don’t go back to McDonalds and give the staff special thanks every time I have a decent Big Mac.
If someone goes above and beyond for their customers then they deserve that level of gratitude, this game however doesn’t do that and is never likely to.
Everyones frustrations around this game are warrented. Don’t try and down play it. What we want as a gaming community is for them to take action now and start addressing all of these issues. This isn’t just about fixing bugs. It’s about making the game live up to it’s potential. What you may see as complaints is most likely users clearly stating what’s wrong and proposing realistic and sensible ways to fix the given problem. If instead they want to vent their frustrations then so be it. But patting them on the back right now isn’t the time. Pat them on the back after they listen to us and fix this game. Otherwise you can pat yourself on the back while you play this game by yourself in 6 months time.
A lot of people spend a lot of time creating products that inevitably flop. A games studio isn’t the exception. A small number of people also spend “a lot of time” using “their own mind” to “critically think” and determine the quality of something they’ve bought into, a trait clearly lacking in this Covid era.
The purchase is the thank you.
Anything else is just a defence mechanism of your attachment to a game your life is probably heavily invested in. When the time comes that consumers can openly critique something without being demonized is when gaming will go back to the way it used to be.
The bolded part isn’t justifying it in your world?
If you want people relevant to the game to give thanks to you should be giving a shout out to all the players who spend 10’s or even hundreds of hours creating wonderful replica’s of real world racing cars or the tuners that create setups good enough to achieve top-tier times, both of which are then kind enough to share their creations with the rest of us allowing us to use them, for completely free in the design’s case.
PG + MS receive money from every player in 1 form or another, do you know what those above receive for all their hours in the real world put into those designs or tunes? Nothing but a few hundred measly in-game credits and yet there are people who continue to do it for the community’s benefit.
Those are who you thank when it comes to both Forza franchises, the ones who will see a share of your purchase price or GP subscription and couldn’t care less if you never played it again after they’ve got your payment aren’t.
I understand the good intentions but it will never work here. Threads like yours will be challenged, ridiculed and laughed how someone can still be so naive. You can’t even ask others to post their play time without someone posting something off topic and negative. But it doesn’t really matter because none of the devs will ever read anything on this forum. Even if some of them would accidentally bump into this forum he would exit the next minute after being told he is lazy, stupid, incompetent… And for that reason also your thread will be missed.
Anyway I agree with you. I’m also grateful for this beautiful game. And the guys at PG/T10/MS will soon celebrate the 15 million players in FH5. That alone is worth more than a 1000 thank you.
I couldn’t say it’s impressive… it’s better than I expected from the chosen setting. Otherwise it’s delivered pretty much what I expected from a Forza Horizon game. I think FH3 was the only one that impressed me in a couple of places, even though it’s not my favourite in the series overall. Australia was a location that just naturally made for more spectacle, I think.
Yeah, no, I won’t do that thank you. Holding hands and singing Kumbaya is even less productive than complaining, especially when there are genuine problems with this game.
Thank you, for what? I Payed 100E for the game.
I expect to get a BUG FREE experience. They are not my friends . I’m a customer and expect nothing else then perfection.
They should change the advertising then: A game full of bugs . You may have a lot of issues in the first year. please be patient. Game of the Year.
Change it to F2P and i will understand then.
I really dont care about your excuses and understanding. I care about the state of the game. Which is barely working.
So to understand when you buy a product you expect to be broken? Or barely working? In real world i expect to be working at start and break after warranty runs out.
Here is broken at start at ‘it may be better’ and the end.
People today have really low standards and prefer words and fantasies over the real deal. It may sound cruel or whatever but if we let them they will do it all over again.FM8 and Fh6 will be the same mess or worse.
I expect it to be flawed. To quote Stephen Hawking (allegedly): “One of the basic rules of the universe is that nothing is perfect. Perfection simply doesn’t exist.” To expect perfection is therefore unrealistic.
And while this game is certainly flawed, it’s been eminently playable from the start - on XSX, at least. Having played it from start to what could be called the basic finish and beyond without any serious problems, I would have to be broken myself to call it so.
I am very glad for you that you are having very few if any issues in playing on the XSX. And I am quite serious about that.
Others of us have not been that fortunate on the Series X, since the updates/patches started. Maybe, too, we each have our own definition of what is a serious problem. Some of the issues for me have been minor annoyances (accolades or other activities not registering until quitting the game and re starting would be one II consider to be an annoyance). However the crashing to main menu multiple times per session I consider to be a major issue. I do not get these crashes when playing any other game besides FH5. And, I did not get these crashes until the updates started to roll out.
I guess it all comes down to the experience each of us expect. Again, personally, something amiss on the dash of a car… no big deal. The fact that I have to check the known issue list before attempting an activity to know whether or not I have a reasonable expectation of completing that activity, yeah, that comes very close to making the game unplayable for me.
A doctor once said about me “You have Perfectionism” It is supposed to be a mental illness with benefits. It is said that someone with perfectionism can gain an advantage so long as they can maintain perfection in their life. I do OK, I try to be perfect all the time.
I want to say thank you as this game is fun and, at it’s core is a good game…
However, saying thank you at this moment in time is saying that you are fine with all the issues the game has…and I am not thankful for those.
If the game had demonstrated even a small amount of care and attention from the PGG Team, then, even with all the issues, I would have said thank you…however, how can you say thank you for a game where, if when creating a Blueprint, clicking the “Delete Objects” button then displays a screen which saws “Smash 1000 Lanterns” and then a Yes or No choice? Just as one example
For the product itself I thanked them with my 100€.
As it is the case with any product.
Therefore, extra gratitude isn’t needed and would only come in place for outstanding customer support or goodwill. Given the current state and PGs general behaviour towards its community I see no reason for it.
In the long term they need us, not vice versa.
Sorry, but for what? ~15M players atm means there is no need for “you”… And yeah doesnt matter how “bad” FH5 is/was FH6 has more “players”(or better ppl paying for the game) then…
No problem to ignore 20ppl on the forums
