From wonky Drivatar AI (that has been this way since their inception), to game freezes/crashes, to design decisions that frequently hinder and stop players progression (such as alerts or desyncs bringing people from 200mph to 0mph in 0.0), did anyone playtest this?
It’s the tail end of 2021, we’ve had one catastrophic release after another, is it too much to ask for these overbloated studios to put out games that aren’t packed with flaws?
I wouldn’t be so angry/disappointed if the game had zero potential.
It’s a topic that was discussed on this forum during FH4, but they only test play in the development environment. In other words, they are not debugging and test play on actual consoles.
Not everything is due to this debugging system, but I think some bugs are due to this system.
I think turtle since FH5 released is the biggest change in a poster I’ve ever seen on here, completely denies + disputes there’s anything wrong with 5.
Let us know what is perfection out of that list of known issues.
Which would be logarithmically smaller if anyone checked their code and played for real for a few hours.
Pay someone to beta test this stuff. People would volunteer I’d think.
Almost perfect it ain’t. Crushingly frustrating it is.
First, no, devs don’t play the game, devs do develop., testers do test based on expressed requirements.
Second, no dev told you there was no bug in the game.
Third, there is a difficult balance to achieve between putting money on testing and keeping an acceptable price. FH is now a huge game and testing it properly in all conditions and usage could take years.
But don’t misunderstand me, if I consider the current situation finds some explanations, I don’t consider the current situation is acceptable. Announcing game was gold with this level of bugs is indisputably a shame. Same is bringing FH4 issues to FH5.
And you dare to write this in a forum full of players with issues? wow!
A car with only 3 tires is also almost perfect for you? Need only a little more to be able to drive. Huh?
I have the game too and it’s awesome. You are probably just spoiled kids. Not everything works but it’s a huge game with so many features. You can’t compare it with anything.
And you are probably just a fanboy. So, there is no point trying to argue with people like you lol. Whoever says this game is awesome, never played more than two videogames in their entire life.
Sorry im just tired of ignorant people saying this game is good, probably only to internally justify they spend an insane amount of money on it. If you like the game good for you, but for the love
of god, be realistic and HONEST. This game is one of the worst games released in 2021, because its completely broken, terribly designed and EXPENSIVE for no reason at all.
I can say i play many games i like, but many of them are bad games. Im ok saying it. Im not a fanboy, just a reasonable logic person.
I gave objective reasons to counter your opinion that this is the best Horizon ever. Like missing many of the core features of previous ones, and having the same as well as new bugs as previous ones. It isn’t just negativity for the sake of it. If some of those issues were addressed (maybe they will be), the game would be improved for everyone. According to you, little needs doing because it’s already perfect.
My list in that thread is something like what a paid tester should be coming up with, preferably before release.
You are easily one of the most ignorant people that routinely posts on these forums, you need to remove your head from wherever you have it buried (I cant say where officially) and learn how to engage in rational debate/conversation. The most confusing part is that its clear from your tier and points you have played most if not all of the either Forzas and still have the ridiculous opinion that this game is perfect. It is the most buggy Forza game ever launched which is unfortunately the par for the course for games in 2021 (BF 2042 another prime example) and not only that, half of the major issues are carryover or related issues to ones we already had in FH4 and that is unacceptable for the player base. A lot of the game is good sure but its far from perfect and there needs to be major improvements made, which unfortunately history has shown likely wont happen. It really does just feel like a graphically prettier FH4 with LESS features (no ranked, no custom adventures, no team ranked/custom, unplayable horizon arcade, no forzathon live).
I think taking an extra year to develop only for the game to release with such bugs is unacceptable.
There’s also tons of other stuff:
We were promised “thousands” of new parts. Well, we did get them. Why? Because the new transmissions, differentials and tires are the same for every car and, since there’s 534 cars, there are literally “thousands” of these parts.
Same with engine swaps. The list was largely carried over from FH4, with rare additions. Most of the additions are stuff that’s available for every car, like the TVR 7.7L V12 (which still sounds like blergh). Other inexplicable stuff like the Jeep Gladiator only having the Funco F9 engine (the car’s upgrade path doesn’t scale properly then), or the Cuda still lacking the Hellcat swap it gets in FM7.
Rocket Bunny was lost and it hurt tons of cars. Whatever your opinion on the kits is, you can’t deny having a bodykit in this game is a huge perk due to the increase in tire and track widths. Many cars like 1992 NSX-R or 2003 Fairlady Z ended up nerfed without reason. On the E46 M3, one of the replacement kits (Aim9) is bugged, since the wing was merged with the bodykit.
Finally there’s the sounds, which got better, true… but the pitch is all wrong. I rev a BMW and it sounds as if it had a redline 1000 rpm lower than it does IRL. Also there’s some corner cutting. The sounds are literally the same base sound with modifications. The race exhaust for the Supra is the stock exhaust for the Skyline, which makes zero sense. BTW you can make a BMW engine sound like the stock Supra too. The air filters were handled much better IMO.
Not all is bad. New wheels are excellent and fit a wide range of cars. The F40 Competizione was indirectly boosted by having the new transmission options. The RX-7’s replacement kits are great, as are the SFLA kits for M3 and Evo X. There’s even AC Schnitzer parts for the F82 M4 (surprise!). But, with the losses and inaccuracies, everything feels like a side step and the online and AI issues rub salt on the wound.
