216 MPH is the fastest speed I reach on La Sarthe before braking (very early) to turn.
This is the kind of activity I used to enjoy in FM 1-4!
My friend and I used to specifically set a budget (Say, $100,000) - and then race Muscle vs Japanese Tuner with a Performance limit.
Honestly this is the first time I’ve felt like playing the game for many months (to try your challenge), Kudos!
Does this qualify as a starting car?
There is not a huge variety of old bangers to choose from - I certainly wouldn’t consider this a bad car but maybe it qualifies for lack of love?

Tree7rog The Vauxhall Carlton is actually pretty good in S Class - I am sure off memory you can squeeze full engine upgrades plus race tyres and all the important things on it in S Class. Sure I stuck that high on Road America East early game.
I thought this was a good idea since S Class LeMans always feels like a premier event online and people struggle to get under 4 mins, and the cars always seem varied.
My first effort of trying to get a 6000IB Audi RS e-tron GT did not go so well - but I found another good Tub which I will post in a min.
I like to see randomness - Super heavy super light cars - Fwd, 4wd - anything unusual - get creative. hehe

The car itself is surprisingly smooth, so I can’t take credit for any smooth driving. 
I don’t think I’ve ever raced online at Le Mans in S-class in this game, so I have no idea which cars are popular or good or bad there.
Since you asked for “the worst cars that normally get zero love,” my first thought was to go with something that’s not rear-wheel-drive and not dominating the leaderboard.

I can offer you another side quest.
In S class Rivals on Spa post your time in any production GT-R. Yesterday I added top 3 GTR times to my friend list to beat them one by one but ngl it wasn’t as hard as I expected and there’s still time to be gained on my tune. I don’t think I missed any faster times scrolling the leaderboard either.
It’s still 9 seconds slower than top time on SPA but I’m not really interested in using meta cars so… If you don’t have a faster time set in any other car yet, you are welcome to join this little challenge

I love that car - Its almost good in B class for a few tracks - I love the idea of getting that under 4 mins. Some thing for another day.
Alrighty then over to Spa then tonight -I need to learn that track better anyway - Does it count if I use a 1973 Nissan Skyline H/T 2000GT-R ?

Originally I had the more modern ones in mind but sure, 2000 GT-R is still a GT-R and it only makes sense that this one wouldn’t be AWD

Just for clarification, by “muscle cars,” do you mean the 18 cars categorized in the game’s “Vintage Muscle” division (according to the official car list at forza.net/fmcars)?

Yeah if you go to Buy Cars and organise into Divisions pick a car from “Vintage muscle Cars” and “Street Drag Racers” Why there is a Street Drag Racer division that separates the two I have yet to work out. But they are both Muscle car divisions to me anyway lol
