T10, you need to do something about the game sync times

Like many unlucky One-X owners, I too have been hit by the startup errors and game save errors due to the internal HDD going bad - and have to clear local saved games at least a few times each week to continue playing.

I play over 3 dozen games and not one of them give me any syncing issues - it is seamless - literally takes just a few seconds or usually under a minute.

Syncing Forza takes close to 35-45 mins! Sometimes more. What is it about this game that makes syncing so painful every time? I have a 20mb broadband connection where I can download 60gig games in just a few hours - yet a game save that is under 200mb takes that long? I have read many reports which I found through Google of people complaining about syncing times in Forza despite the fact that they have 100mb fiber optic connections.

FH4 also takes long but not this long.

Will you ever fix these painfully long syncing times?

Wait, first you say that your HDD went bad, but your blaming Forza? And it takes a few hours to download a 60G game? I download that in under an hour, usually 30-40 minutes tops. I don’t think Forza is the problem here dude.

DId I not mention that I’m playing the game on an external HDD? My bad.

When I had just gotten my One-X, the sync times were still painfully slow. At the time there were no HDD issues. They were painfully slow on my fat xbox one.

I’ve had the same internet connection throughout and all other games sync within seconds, a minute tops.

It takes me a few hours to download a 98gig game, i’m on one-x.

Forza IS the problem because the sync takes forever. It is the only game that requires 30-40 mins+ to sync. FH4 is also painful but not this painful.

Sent it to a repair facility?

Can’t do that - I’m not in the US or UK. No repair facilities here.

How soon did you start to have issues with the internal HDD after getting your One-X?

I’ve had the same syncing issues with forza on my fat xbox one. Had the same internet then as I do now.

Forza is the only game that takes this long to sync. It’s ridiculous, really.

And when my One-X was fine, it still took way to long to sync. There has been no difference in syncing time when my X-one-X was running fine Vs now that I’m having issues with the internal HDD.

Hard to say because it was a while ago. A month into my purchase? Perhaps less.

I contacted Microsoft support. They came to my house, picked up the machine, sent it to Germany I believe and within a week or two I had it back. No problems with game saves, syncs and such since then.

sorry - double posted again!

Sorry, triple post!

When i bought my xbox one x at day one i had same issues with HDD as you also with syncing but resolved after i sent to technical assistance, your problem is your Xbox One X not Forza.

I’m also on the One X. You mentioned your not in the US or UK. Your location could be the issue. Even if you have decent internet where you are, there may be an issue connecting to the Forza servers.

Okay, maybe that explains it. Syncing is lightning fast in all other games, many of which are from US developers.

Out of general curiosity, how long did it take for your One X to break down after purchase? Typical HDD issues, not updating, not syncing, not loading saves, bootup errors, etc - all that good stuff, I imagine?

Yes, well mine broke after one week but to be honest i’m not sure if it was broke already out of the box since i wasn’t using every day… after a month i got my xbox one x back at home but it was the same so it took another month cause i sent again for a second repair…

In the past few weeks I’ve seen tons of videos and read several dozed threads about people’s Xbox One-X’s failing due to the E101, E102, E105, E106 errors - sometimes E200 and E100 as well and all kinds of nonsense.

To be frank, I can understand their frustration. There was this clip of a young black dude that was on the phone with MS support for 2 long hours, where the lady actually admitted at one point “this is a known issue”… whaaat!!!

I spend nearly two months half-broke after saving enough to get my One-X. I think this is kind of like the RROD debacle reborn all over again - only difference is - your console may or may not work. And even after repairs/replacement - there’s no guarantee it will continue to work.

Pretty sure I’ll be getting the new-gen PS5 when I’ve saved enough to get it, because this is not on. A $500 console - the least they could have done is run extensive tests and benchmarking to ensure it doesn’t break.

I took all the steps I possibly could to keep my console running smoothly - but no - after 3 months starting getting the ‘installation stopped’, ‘something went wrong’, ‘for some reason x game took too long to start’ errors, along with the dash becoming really slow - games loading slowly, texture pop in - all that good stuff! And then those heart-sinking E errors…

Well anyway, didn’t mean to sound overly negative. Thought that Xbox consoles failing was behind us after RROD.

That’s fantastic to know Evan! knock wood hope yours stays in pristine condition - because you’ll see many reddit threads where people said they are on their third replacement. And the funny thing is, these problems start to occur just weeks after purchase. For some folks, their consoles stopped working after just 2-3 days or max 1 week!

Issue occurs with both Scorpio and non-Scorpio editions I’ve learned.

Fingers crossed. Mine is just a standard One X that I got in February of 2018 I believe. I’ve had some slight issues aside from the problem I mentioned, such as games not updating and cancelling updates uninstalling the game but that could be a Microsoft Store issue or perhaps because I have ridiculously poor internet.

Either way Fora does take a long time to sync compared to other titles but nowhere near as long as you’ve mentioned and I have even slower internet speeds than yours.

Anyway after the second repair anything is ok

I’d just like to point out that I’m not referring to the regular/routine syncs but the ones you need to do after clearing local saves/full factory reset.

I Had no full factory reset after they repaired almost 2 years ago

Lucky! How old is your console build? Mine’s Jan 2018. Picked up in April 2019 though.

I bought at day one, I think the elder build
