T10 lack of communication costing them in refunds

I don’t understand T10 stubbornness regarding communication with us. I’m not saying they need to reply to each thread, but a sticky, saying that they acknowledge the issues and are looking into fixes is the bare minimum they could do and may help stem the tide of people rushing to refund the game.

I can afford to stick it out and wait for a patch, because PC2 and the like don’t interest me at the moment and I WANT to play forza. But many are far more fickle and the lack of communication only makes it worse for them.

They will not only continue to lose through refunds, but any prospective customers looking at the forums or any of the honest, unbiased reviews online, then seeing no comments from the devs regarding fixes, will think twice about a purchase.

Forza 5 came under much much more flack than this game ( at the moment) when it was released and T10 responded the same way, silent.

Ive been around these forums long enough to know that complaints and moaning achieve very little if anything at all.

You either like the way the title is heading or you don’t if you like cool play have a blast if you don’t move on, thats not me being a fan boy or anything of the likes thats simply how it is.

T10 will no doubt fix any real bugs but as for features im sorry but they are what they are for the most part.

And communication from T10 is not going to happen until there ready and even then it will be sparse.

Think that might change with those who didn’t get early access start playing today.

Today is the 2nd the non early access starts tomorrow. I think it starts midnight tonight.

I accept it is what it is regarding direction. I can’t say I fully support it but hey-ho. But there are far too many gameplay bugs that they’re failing to publicly acknowledge, and that’s even if you’re one of the lucky ones like myself to even be able to download it…

I know what they’re like too. I’ve been here since I finally gave up on Gran Turismo and bought an x360 and FM3. But I just can’t understand why they are so arrogant to believe that ONE LINE of text on a forum is beneath them when it could potentially save thousands in refunds and lost sales?

They don’t have to care to respond because all Forza fanboys will buy the game anyway…

I was called that a few years ago.

At the moment my wallet is closed.

I got a refund for the Ultimate Edition because of the VIP thing and because I don’t like games that are designed around loot box systems. The good thing here in the EU is that you don’t have to explain why you want a refund.

I also didn’t buy any of the other editions. Having read the “We’re sorry you misunderstood” statement Turn 10 sent to eurogamer I can definitely say I made the right choice.

I Don’t know the only thing they do is banning 14 days from the forum.

Actually, in your case, you win the VIP 2x ban modifier.

By using a disallowed second account to try and circumvent a previous ban, you earn a permanent ban on this account and once we apply the VIP 2x modifier, you previously banned for only 14 days account gets a permanent ban as well.

Have a nice day.

Somewhere else.

I’d be careful, you only get 5 uses of the VIP 2x ban <.<

have to admit, that was funny.

If that were the case then I’ll likely be out of them in the next 48 hours as there are many, many bans coming this week. Luckily for us moderators, it’s unlimited.

That is just not fair!

I think you’ll be quite busy, looks like Jim Sterling might be talking about this game soon.

Who is Jim Sterling and why would his talking about it matter?

As HLR Bubba said, he’s an independent videogame journalist with 500,000+ subscribers.

Usually if it’s a “Jimquisition” video, the developer or game gets widespread criticism from the public and other websites. The respective forums get flooded as a result of the video.

Never heard of him. He’s from YouTube you say? Well then, that explains it.

It’s not only him, 3 media/gaming sources have also touched on the subject already as well.

Not to mention reddit has been on fire with the subject. I think honestly the YouTuber is the small fry in the equation.

MS/T10 has been silent up to this point but I think they will have to come out with something soon. On reddit there are threads about the UK, Aussies, and Canadians going to the FTC and other outlets to have something done.

I feel it’s a little much. But part of me knows voting with my wallet won’t do anything to change the tide of the gaming industry as a whole. I know not buying this game isn’t going to make FM8 better, in fact everyone here defending them now, will undoubtedly be bashing them in 2 years when the skinner boxes do take the front seat of the game. Unfortunately for us Americans we have.. well.. no rights as consumers and nowhere to turn to.

As stated before, they remain silent because saying nothing is better than admitting anything.

I personally like Jim Sterling and watch his videos quite frequently. He actually researches his topics quite well and is a pretty enjoyable personality (if a bit vulgar and arrogant at times).

However, he is well known as a crusader against pre-order bonuses, micro-transactions and loot boxes. My guess is that he would be against the Crate system and locking non-cosmetic content behind paywalls.
