Surround sound improvements

Considering the effort given to realistic visuals the current surround sound is a poor representation of the actual sound a driver would experience. In addition to same old complaint about level of sound being too low in many cases, where the sound is generated should be considered

On the good side the effects of hitting curbs with rear tires is ok, definitely hear the effects coming from the rear channels.

On the bad side, the engine and exhausts notes ALL emanate from the front/center channel, there is no difference based on the actual engine placement. A rear or mid-engine sound have more rear bias to the back channels, right now it sounds the same as a front engine vehicle. Exhaust should be rear channel or for true realism balanced front to back (as in stock vs modified exhaust upgrades)

This drives me absolutely bonkers.

I voted. I have better sound from my headphones then my high dollar sound system.

Can someone explain to me why recorded video clips have better sounding audio vs when I’m driving or racing in real time…? For example my clips sound louder and fuller on my headphones and im sure on tv or sound systems? Is it a bug or what?

You sure its not due to the fact that sensitivity when it comes to different audio devices exist?

Depending on your headphones, they might have a much higher DB they’re shown off as. In my case, my JBL 910 Quantum’s are louder and are “V-shaped” with audio, meaning they are turned for highs and lows to be the most apperant.

Maybe your speakers have a quieter decibel rating or maybe its how the tuning is? Its not as simple as simply cranking up the volume on a given thing as it could end up distorting the audio(more than it is) or cause some headphones to be overly loud.

Even so, my tv, sound bar, headphones. When I record a game clip on my series x, it plays louder. Definitely a noticeable difference from live to the recording.

I’m not expert on this stuff by far. Just curious why it happens or is like that.

Oh, I see! Huh, well im clueless on that part then. Yea, wonder if the devs could figure out a way to improve that.

Only thing I can think of is the live sound is variable bit rate if that makes sense, and the recorded version is a set bit rate so it sounds more louder stable? Idk :joy:

Ya know, that makes sense. I get what you mean though.
