Surprised they bother releasing new games

I’ve been looking through the forums and noticed that there are very few people who seem to have anything positive to say about this game. There’s people complaining about the map size, about the way the cars appear on the roads, the dlc, the everything pretty much. Makes you wonder why both Turn 10 and Playground even bother to release any new Forza titles.

Firstly, why cant we hold the bashing of an unfinished and unreleased product until we have it in our grubby little hands.
Secondly, if we keep going with this negativity towards new games then surely at some point the developers will take their money and run leaving us with less to choose from.
Thirdly, remember one important thing, these are games. they aren’t real life, they are made for us to have fun with. nothing more, nothing less.

So the map might not be as big as you want, so what, I’m sure you will find a way to enjoy driving.
The cars might not drift how they do in real life, so go buy a car, set it up for drifting and go hit a real world track for realistic drifting. Just enjoy the game style drifting for what it is.
The rain drops look fake, they are fake, get over it, or pour water on your TV when it starts raining (the lightning would be more realistic that way too)

Personally, I am looking forward to FH2, regardless of all the negative comments on these forums. At 37 I’ve seen a lot of progress made in gaming since my first console as a kid. The old Atari 2600 games didn’t have maps, or realism, but they were fun because people knew how to enjoy what they had. They didn’t care if the game was running at 30fps or 1000fps, they just had fun with what was delivered. I will pickup my pre-ordered copy of FH2 on the 2nd of October and will have a blast driving cars that I will never be able to afford in the real world, I’ll drive around whatever size map is delivered to me with my friends without complaining about its size, and I’ll simply enjoy the game for what it is, an open world driving game built for us to have a bit of fun with.

Given some of the whinging and moaning about FH1 I was not even sure there would be an FH2.

But when FH2 was announced there were a lot of positive comments on other websites. More than I was expecting.

Just goes to show the feedback here is not always indicative of the masses.

Well, of course, those who don’t like something are going to be far more vocal than those who enjoy the product. Similarly, there will always be those who complain about something before the product is ever released. Welcome to the wonderful world of consumerism.

I suggest you do like I do and ignore the complaints and let yourself revel in whatever it is you find pleasure in. There will be plenty of us thoroughly (and happily) enveloped in the game when it releases; meanwhile, the displeased will continue to make the forums their personal Taylor Swift album.

Those who enjoy the product are far too busy enjoying the product to complain about how a car has a horsepower figure slightly different than in real life, or a map that doesn’t look just like the real world and is only the size of GTA V you know…

But you’re right, the game isn’t even out yet.

Remember, the forums are a rather small, if vocal, sample group. In the FM5 forum, there are only a handful of us that log in daily.

We don’t represent the majority by any means.

I, for one, don’t have a negative opinion about FH2, in fact I’m rather looking forward to it. I’ll certainly have my critiques and opinions when I get it, just like I did with FH1… A game I loved, hated, and played the hell out of.

I do wish T10/PG/Sumo would talk to us more, and not speak in riddles or talking points when they do. More facts. It would cut down on all the rampant speculation, wishlisting, and inflated expectations.

Unfortunately, people have a much easier time complaining about things than they have praising things - especially in materialistic communities where luxury items such as video games are almost taken for granted as a right rather than an exception.

When people are happy with something, they most often don’t go somewhere–like a discussion board–to share their contentment. They carry on in their lives, enjoying what they are happy with.

It’s when people are unhappy about something that you notice them. This is why you see more complaints and whining here, in particular because they fear that they won’t like a game that isn’t even released yet. To many who whine here, they enjoy it and take their chances now that their complaining can’t be absolutely proven to be right or wrong.

Humans are a funny bunch of creatures, eh…

I tried swaying the complainers to be more positive but they’re so intent on complaining that they don’t wanna be optimistic…

I’m really excited for this game, though. This fall is going to have a few games that I’m going to grab, but I’ll probably be playing this the most.

I’ve tried the same, but the complainers are just ignoring us, so let’s all agree to ignore the haters from this point. Don’t reply to their comments amd they will stop complaining because they have no-one to complain to and they will lose interest. Think of them as bullies, don’t respond and they will leave you alone.

Glad to see so many positive comments.
Understand that people will be a lot quicker to complain than praise, it just drives me nuts. Needed to vent!!!
I too tried a couple of times to sway them, with zero success.
Bring on October 2nd!!!

Then you’re letting the negativity go to your head, simple as that. It’s cute that the mod up there is calling people out as children, when you guys are incapable of accepting the mere presence of critical opinions. On the internet. God forbid someone actually says something negative to you in person…

It’s a forum, not a hugbox. People will have differing opinions to you on a wide range of subjects and that’s absolutely fine. Trying to make people hold them back isn’t going to help anything, and the presence of negativity certainly isn’t going to put PG/T10 off making new games. They’re more mature than that.

+1 to you sir.

Seriously, It’s ok to be a little upset about people criticizing everything no matter what, but there are other people who criticize games because they want better products. Being always ok with everything does no good either and some times negative feedback helps a lot, because complaining leads to changes. Of course, complaining should be done in a reasonable and logical way, being respectful to each other, the basis of every civil discussion. Look at Forza 5 and the changes that were made in the months after its release, or the missing features people moaned about in the first Horizon like the lack of tuning, aspect that now is present in the FH2.

Just my opinion, of course.

PS:

I am chomping at the bit to get this game! It looks amazing I don’t get how people can complain about something that isn’t even out yet ohwell. Can’t please everyone.

The problem is there are too many spoiled children on gaming forums and adults who have unrealistic expectations. No game will ever be perfect and no game will ever please everyone. Either choose to support it or move onto another game. Simple.

I applaud you sir, very well said statement.

I agree 100%

Couldn’t agree more! im in my mid/late 20’s and i genuinely got giddy about this game! haha, super stoked they’ve listened to the fans, nice to see weather, new cars, crisper detail and roundabouts! haha.

If people are so unsatisfied with the game information thusfar, then why do they log in every day? That baffles me. It is because I’m so amped about this game that I log in every day to see every new development on the forums. Of course I have other forums and places I go every day including my unit forum in another game, but I’m constantly checking this one to see what’s new.

People expect a perfect game nowadays. They dont realise how long it takes to make the cars, map, features and all the sacrifices and cost of all this. There will always be critical people in the world.

[Mod Edit - Abbreviated profanity, profanity and profanity that is disguised but still alludes to the words are not permitted - D]

From the videos that I have seen on Youtube from Gamescon and other places the game actually looks like they listened to complaints about the first one and made some things better and finally added weather (now only if we could get the FM team to listen and add what people want).

The graphics look decent and should be slightly improved before the game releases. The 30fps is fine with me as long as its stable and the effects are nice (so far both FM and FH have had horrible particle effects for dust, tire smoke, etc). I would even be happy with a lower res, like 900 if they would turn up the AA and make the game look more polished like Ryse. Maybe Developers should start adding a selection like PC games have for Performance or Appearance, that way both types of gamers will be happy. The ones who want the game to look good and smooth and those who want the game to run at a high res and framerate.

I actually pre-ordered the game today after two days of watching videos on it. I also started re-playing FH and am actually having more fun with that over FM5.

The main haters of the game are the Fanboys from the other console or PC or even FM who want a total sim (which FM is going further away from).

The map size on the XB1 is supposed to be a lot larger then the on in FH and more open. That alone is a large map, not as large as The Crews, but that is more of an arcade type game. That being said FM and FH do have to be careful as more and more companies are now making more compelling racing games. Driveclub looks much better then FM5 or any other racer on the consoles so far, so that means they need to keep their gameplay up, that is where FM5 fell down.

The photo mode, car customization, car selection (but gotten smaller in the last few versions), SIM(ish) physics, livery editor, and community are what make Forza games. Horizon adds free roaming, clubs, etc. to that mix. As long as they get those right they will be great games, otherwise they will be like most of the other racers, play it for a while then never touch them again.
