Was running some hot laps around the Nordschleife in x-class rivals with my steering rotation set at 540°. After a spin out near the end of my last lap, the wheel rotation changed to 900°.
What do you mean by this? The in game settings? If not the g920 will always spin 900 degrees. But ‘full lock’ is achieved earlier… as far as I know. I have g920 but haven’t played since update so could be wrong. Does the wheel lock up early b now?
I know about the soft lock on the rotation when set to something lower than 900° in the ingame options, as I have a G27 which I use on the PC. This is not that.
In the ingame options I had the rotation set to 540°, as I was driving the Lotus E23. I find this rotation setting to work will with the car. During my hotlap session, to which I was 3 laps in. I spun out, and when I got going again, the wheels rotation was at 900°. I confirmed this by looking at the telemetry screen, which showed the additional rotation was in play. I had to exit to the menus, and then restart the rivals event again to get back to 540°. After the 3rd lap and a spin out, the same thing happened again. This time I kept going, and on the 7th lap I spun again and hit a barrier The rotation went back to 540°. Again, I confirmed this by looking in the telemetry screen. Obviously there is something funny going on here, and with the absence on the G920 to change the rotation on the hardware level like the TX wheel. It really does need to be looked into, as this could negatively impact peoples ability to race in the higher class race cars. Which often require a DOR below that of 600°.
Hmm mm. I thought they said they fixed that in the patch… I’ll have to have a play and see what happens to me. G920 is a very new wheel too compared to others. Developers may not have fully ‘cracked’ it yet. Sorry I can’t be of more help :s
I dont think there is anything that can be done on our side to be fair, or rather my side. I would say it is a bug somewhere with the controller settings, and for whatever reason, their ability to change mid session. For all I know, it might just be something that effects a few. Either way, I can compensate for the additional DOR after a couple of corners. It does seem to rectify itself though, which is more confusing that it changing to 900° in the first place.
My G920 wheel delivery was delayed from today to tomorrow, otherwise I’d be testing this out right now myself. I don’t have enough background with this wheel to know what possible workarounds there might be to avoid the DOR changing on its own. I know with my Fanatec GT2, I always set the DOR and FFB the same on both the wheel and the in game settings because it seemed like I never had any problems when doing it that way. Yes, it’s more work, but I got used to doing it that way and the results always felt familiar and reliable.
Did you press the “X box” button? I had my wheel settings revert earlier when pressing the “x box” button to respond to a message…so the glitch is not fixed.
I think you may be on to something. The times the wheel has changed to 900 DOR when its set at 540 seems to happen when I use the xbox menu. Looks like the rapid resume of the game is having come kind of impact on this. Hopefully Turn 10 patches this as its very annoying. I was starting to think I had a defective wheel, but glad to hear both G920 and TX users have this problem.
Any further incidents of this since yesterday Ialyrn? How about anyone else with a G920 or TX wheel who is turned into the discussion? I’ll be getting my G920 later today, so I’ll be weighing in on it at some point.
Ive only been running road cars today, so my DOR has been set to 900° in the options menu. It is what I prefer for the road cars. If I run with a race car later though, I will lower it down to 540° again.
My G920 keeps going back to 900 degrees even when I change it in the advanced controller settings. When it won’t change DOR I have to do a hard reboot of the console to fix the issue. I don’t know if this is a glitch or if something is wrong with my wheel.
My tx wheel keeps reverting back to 900 between multiplayer races for no reason. I hard set the wheel to 540 (three blinks) do a race no problem as soon as race is finished somewhere between next race it goes back to 900. It’s very annoying as I forget to set it back to 540 and go into first corner to find I’m on 900 and off I go into the grass.
This has only come about after the last patch.
Just something else to add to my list of how broken this game is!
Tonight I have had the steering angle change 5 times while trying to drive a Toyota LMP1 car on Brands Hatch… things like rewinding (although this may have been due to a crash), going to the Xbox Dashboard, and crashing have all caused it.
Would love for this to be sorted, because it’s really annoying to have to quit and restart a hard race at 6/8 laps because I’m no longer able to control the car effectively.
I’m still having problems with my G920 changing the degrees of rotation. If I set it to 360 or 540 and then go race it is still in 900 degrees when I race. When I go back to the advanced controller settings afterwards it’s still set to either 540 or 360. Turn 10 needs to fix this. We don’t have the ability to change DOR on the fly like TX users and it’s a huge waiste of time to quit a rave and go all the way back to the main menu controller settings.
I agree that pressing the “X box” button seems to contribute to this problem. I have had it happen many times without hitting this button so this may not be what is causing it.
I posted on another thread about bog using manual with clutch I believe it was. Long story short I posted some pictures of telemetry before pushing the Xbox button and after pressing it while holding the clutch at a fixed position (applies to all analog values effected by controller settings) my clutch went from 48% to 8% just by pressing the Xbox button… Obviously this can cause major problems with people that use controller settings that are not the same as stock. Still awaiting a patch…
My wheel is still staying at 900 degrees (despite being set to 540 or lower) even when I don’t touch the Xbox button. This issue is super annoying and I can’t wait until they fix it (if ever).
