Suggestions Hub - Collection of various hopper ideas
There’s currently three different suggestions in the Shub regarding hoppers. I’ve taken the initiative and collected all three suggestions here. Pick your hopper and vote it up.
Or maybe these need to be combined into one major suggestion. Between all three they total up to 366 votes. Granted some of those may be double up votes, but not all.
If the shub is going to work, and be effective and have an affect on the direction of the game then it’s up to us the community to be proactive in the shub. But we also need to be able to be proactive here in general discussions and work towards driving traffic to the shub.
I’ve voted on all of them, but the one I’d like to see most is the open track day meetup. This can be a fun and chill way of just leveling (I know it’s not mandatory anymore), testing and tuning cars. Just a non-competitive way to drive around online.
Well, now that car progression is fixed it really does open the door. I just couldn’t be bothered to spend my limited gaming time levelling up a car in the hope that I could get a decent tune on it to take part in the remaining day or two of a hopper.
The number of hoppers is far too small but I guess that’s necessary to ensure that they’re sufficiently populated with the limited player numbers.
For me, FM has always been about taking a stock car and upgrading and tuning it to go racing. We need more class based hoppers but with just enough restriction to keep the “try hards” in their OP leaderboard cars at bay and to encourage the use of different cars.
Most hoppers have already been done in the past. By country of manufacture, by decade, by engine, by drivetrain, by starting class etc.
I’d love to see this in MP. But I’d like to see them set it up where a single player could start a track day host and start running laps. Then players could join anytime as they wish.
Are you talking about FM7 in the past? Because I don’t think FM8 has run the full gamut of hoppers since the game release.
But you are right in that we need more. I believe if there were more MP options available it might attract players back to the game. But they also need to either fix FRR or give hosts the option to disable FRR in private hoppers and in track day hoppers.
Yes buddy, by “past” I did mean previous editions of the game. I didn’t pick up 8 until maybe a month back and to be frank, the MP offer has been dreadful.
