Poll: Online Multiplayer Class Hoppers

What do you guys think about the current class hopper system in the multiplayer?

  • I Like the rotation of class hoppers like they are
  • I want these class hoppers permanently available in multiplayer
  • I want 3 class hoppers rotating weekly (E>D>C) (B>A>S) and (R>P>X)
  • I don’t like class hoppers in multiplayer

[All class hoppers in multiplayer permanently!]

Here’s a link if you do like rotation but think 3 hoppers should be rotated at same time!

[Multiplayer should have 3 hoppers in rotate at the same time]

Looking like they shouldn’t try to jump through hoops they’ve already tried before. If anyone else remembers this system was the same way in FM7 at launch.

This. We’ve had to bully the devs into having all classes permanently available for 3 games in a row now.

I don’t understand the disconnect here. It will literally only raise playtime by allowing players to drive the things they want rather than just playing only when the class they like is available.

I guarantee there were 5x as many people doing A class as there currently are for C class.

hooray for 5x as many people driving formula mazdas and nothing else, truly an experience for the ages.

making classes permanent massively segments the playerbase for no good reason. it is a garbage idea for the terminally boring and unimaginative who just want to drive the same two classes all day. we’ve already seen this game after game after game since 2009. i cannot for the life of me wrap my head around wanting it again so that we have two populated classes and then every other lobby in the game be a ghost town.

thankfully these forums are not and have never been reflective of how the playerbase at large feels so hopefully t10 just ignores terrible ideas like this.

I mean, it’s honestly a skill issue if you can’t beat the Formula Mazdas. I never used it outside its dedicated hopper and I literally only lost to 1 of them over an entire week with around 35-40 races done in the A class hopper.

Also, I understand the feeling that it segments the playerbase. But what it also does is that if a class hopper that people don’t like is up, the playerbase on the game visibly takes a hit. It’s always been like that.

Best case scenario to appease both sides would be to have at least 2 class hoppers at a minimum at all times, and have one of them be either A or S class at all times with the other one being whatever other class.

Another thing they should do is bring back public hosted lobbies. We haven’t had it since FM4, and it was honestly the main thing that kept people on the game for so long.

So how would you do it? How would you keep a player base engaged? I mean especially those who aren’t wanting C class at the moment? What do you do?

i mean, you can claim ‘skill issue’ all you want, but the undeniable fact is that for the overwhelming majority of tracks in a class, if you take two drivers of equal skill and put one in the formula mazda and the other in any other car, the formula mazda driver will win. there’s a reason it is dominating in rivals, and worst of all it is dead simple to drive. it is not like it’s the only broken car forza has ever had, or even the worst offender (the elan in fm2 and the muscle cars in fm4 were both worse), but it is still phenomenally stupid.

if t10 ever makes a permanent class, they should only make 1 and it should be multiclass abc’s. otherwise the playerbase will be hugely fragmented and it’ll end up exactly like fh5 is right now, where most of the custom races are largely empty and have been so since they introduced them.

Hmmm that’s an interesting idea, those lobbies were definitely fun.

The Formula Mazda just happened to be a perfect storm scenario. It’s only truly fast at very few tracks. The only reason so many people are using it is because it had its own hopper, and it starts out right at the top of A class.

If this happened further into the game’s life-cycle, not nearly as many people would have used it because other, actually fast cars would have been found by that point.

As for the FH5 thing, correlation is not causation. The game was already on its deathbed when they finally added custom adventure, and the issue with it was that on top of choosing a class, people could pick to have collision on or off. That’s also just completely ignoring freeplay, events around the map, seasonal events, etc. There were TONS of things for people to do in that game, and custom adventure was definitely one of the smallest parts of the community.

With FM, it will be much more structured. The races start at set times, and there’s no choice other than class selection, so even with the lower playerbase that Motorsport has compared to Horizon, it would be FAR easier to retain populated lobbies.

fh5 being on its deathbed is some serious anti-fanfiction. it is still, right now at this moment, one of the most played games in the xbox ecosystem, ranking in the top 15 two years after launch, and was even more so when they introduced custom lobbies. yet despite this, custom races are a ghost town, most people just stuck to the generic random open lobbies, which are always populated regardless of what class and race type comes up in rotation.

in fact it’s a great case study for exactly this thread: lots of loud people online requested exactly what they added, and when they added it, nobody used it.

That’s some more correlation not being causation.

The only reason custom adventure was populated in FH4 was because of Covid lmao. Everybody was stuck at home, and FH4 was the current game at the time.

FH5 was/is dead because it came out as people were getting back out into the world.

The dumb numbers they always like to flaunt around for “biggest launch” and whatnot is purely because they advertised it as much as they possibly could, and because it was on gamepass.

If I remember correctly, the average playtime per player for FH5 was under 20hrs, whereas the average playtime for FH4 was over 40hrs.

why are you even comparing fh4 to fh5? that’s not my point and i never brought up fh4?

i am comparing regular open multiplayer in fh5 to custom multiplayer in fh5. y’know, two multiplayer types within the same game. one of those lobbies was what the game shipped with and is still healthily populated to this day, the other was something people loudly requested online and was added in per those requests and is largely a ghost town and always has been.

i think you’ve kinda lost the plot while also missing my point. loud voices online in a dedicated game forum are rarely, if ever, reflective of how the playerbase at large feels. forums like this are, at best, video game yelp reviews, places to come and complain as a loud minority. this is not to say this game doesn’t have issues - it has a litany of them - but the topic at hand here is a feature that would, at best, segment a playerbase that is already likely to move on relatively fast as the fanbase for lite-sims like forza and gran turismo just is not there in the way it used to be 10, 15 years ago.

Yes this majority you speak of will definitely move on from this game, especially with the saving, soft and hard locks going on with this game at the moment. Thankfully the loud minority here, the most hardcore and likely to stick around the longest will continue voicing our opinions to try to steer T10 into the right direction. As long as discussions and criticism are constructive it can be helpful.

That said, they need to add more class hoppers to the multiplayer rotation, I like that they added a preview of the races coming up but I feel the gap between events is rather large. The racing itself was really fun when I got in there, but I’d like to get my E class back so I can actually race what I want to.

Serverbrowser! And we have all !
Races 2 or more Hours all is Customizing!

Why dont they make like all the other forza’s, open class ABC and so on ALL the time like we had in the past, it worked fine.

I thought same thing was leveling up some E class cars and was looking forward to it instead we get P class and early racers both will be a s show especially P class with 1800hp cars and no brakes rip to anyone playing these stupid lobby’s with week getting wrecked so hard your game will crash in the first turn lol I’m 100% skipping then this week

Yep I’ve been saying it since Class hoppers weren’t in FM6. We need class hoppers in the game permanently from day 1. I have no interest in class P at this time, absolutely none. Talk about splitting a community, people not wanting to play the game since they can’t drive what they want. That’s how you get no community T10 lol you’d think they would learn. Don’t know why they keep choosing to trickle this out.

So how do you guys feel about P class being added?

Nope. I’d like my C class hopper back. Also, D or E. I don’t need the fastest of fast cars (where meta tunes are all the rage). I want to have fun with what I drive.
