I am not sure if it has officially been announced yet but being that it was in Forza 5, Indy is another good NASCAR track. Keep in mind though that just because it was in FM5 does not mean it will be in FM6.
Long answer:
No NASCAR-style stock cars have been revealed so far.
However, we only know about 50% of the cars that will be in Forza Motorsport 6 at launch, so there’s time for the remainder to be revealed. Your best bet is to check back every Wednesday for the Forza Garage updates.
Indianapolis is confirmed to be in Forza Motorsport 6. The circuit was re-scanned following the real circuit’s renovations and surface change.
Hopefully they will be added in, even if some come in as dlc I’d be happy. Diversity is one of the main successes in any game and different type of cars gives great diversity, after all they added in more GT and lmp cars.
Oh probably, maybe I’m thinking of Trans Am? In project cars the Mustang NASCAR/stock car that’s what I mean, I just can’t remember the name of the cars/discipline.
A contemporary NASCAR stock car - a Bud Moore-built Torino:
And to get back on track, I don’t see it as unlikely with the introduction of Daytona and Watkins Glen (and I get the feel Sonoma may be one of the five yet-to-be-revealed tracks), and the promise of more variety (in the interview that’s often cited, mr. Greenwalt took touring and Can-Am cars as an example of the new variety in Forza’s carpark). Oh, and let’s not forget the new partnership with Ford - which may lead them to access to the current-gen NASCAR Fusion’s CAD data, which would surely be infinitely helpful for T10.
Allow me to preface this post by saying nothing in the below press release suggests NASCAR’s presence in Forza Motorsport 6; however, the partnership is intriguing and leaves room for speculation:
CONCORD, N.C. – A global leader in technology and innovation, Microsoft has ramped up its involvement in NASCAR with new multi-year official agreements with both the sanctioning body and 11-time Sprint Cup Series champions Hendrick Motorsports. The collaborations designate Microsoft as an Official Technology Partner of NASCAR and a major technology partner of Hendrick Motorsports.
Hendrick Motorsports will adopt the Windows 10 platform and Microsoft Azure to deliver technology solutions to help improve performance on and off the track. In addition, Microsoft will support the upcoming launch of Windows 10 with primary sponsorship of Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s No. 88 Chevrolet SS at Sonoma Raceway on June 28 and Pocono Raceway on Aug. 2. Windows 10 will be the Official Operating System of Hendrick Motorsports.
"NASCAR and Hendrick Motorsports are perpetual innovators in motorsports,” said Steve Guggenheimer, Corporate Vice President, Developer Experience and Evangelism at Microsoft. “This sport demands constant innovation, to have its boundaries pushed, so that the sport delivers the exciting experiences expected by fans. The Windows mobile inspection application we launched last year is a great example of how innovative solutions can push boundaries and make the racing experience even better. We’re looking forward to the next solutions that we can deploy with both NASCAR and Hendrick Motorsports to push each of our organizations forward.”
Microsoft will utilize two-time Daytona 500 champion Earnhardt as a spokesperson to promote Windows 10, which will be available July 29 as a free upgrade for qualified Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 devices.* In addition, its new multi-year partnership with Hendrick Motorsports will incorporate technology solutions and training across the team, including competition, business and IT functions.
“I’m a big technology user and really enjoy Microsoft products,” said Earnhardt, who is NASCAR’s 12-time most popular driver. “Kicking off the Hendrick Motorsports relationship with Windows 10 is a unique opportunity, and there’s no doubt our ongoing technical partnership will help us raise the bar in many areas. It’s great to see Microsoft is having such a positive experience with NASCAR and wants to do more across the sport. We’re excited to be a part of that.”
Rick Hendrick likes money and also has an impressive collection of top tier collector cars. If this deal was negotiated it’s possible that T10 may have an avenue if the price is right to tackle several modeling birds with one stone.
It’s also worth noting that Dale Jr. was a fan of racing games and even used them to learn tracks he had never visited.
Not sure if T10 could snag a deal with Hendrick and Dale Jr. but at least they have a way of pursuing such options if desired.
If NASCAR ever comes back on Forza Motorsport 6, I hope to see the Camry, Fusion and Super Sport stock cars in it. My personal favorites are the ones that ran in NASCAR in 2003 - 2005:
Chevrolet Monte Carlo
Ford Taurus
Pontiac Grand Prix
and 4. Dodge Interprid - Charger
I would buy Forza Motorsport 6 if these cars come as DLC!
Take the Interprid out of that and we have a deal. Sorry but the Dodge Interprid is a POS when it comes to cars period. Now give me a charger and I’ll show you why Dodge should have never left the Sprint series.
